Chapter 115 Quotation Assessment (1)

You Rihui is in a state of confusion br    />

He was anxious and restless, his emotions fluctuated greatly, and his thoughts were not sure what he was thinking, which led to his whole body becoming much decadent.

He thought this exam was definitely the most tormenting. Although it was a bit difficult, it was not impossible to think of these test questions and couplets.

But... he wanted to earn 100 taels of Dong Pei, but he didn't dare to start writing. If the answer was different from Li Bai's, would Dong Pei refuse to admit it?

Thinking of this, he was very distressed inside, and he was furious and showed signs of fainting.

...

Bai Xue on the high platform looked at Xu Shilin and smiled: "Sir, this first couplet is no different from the fourth couplet. I think few students can answer it."

Xu Shilin smiled and said, "Do not laugh at me as a joke on me. I want to not hide it. Even if we think of the couplets, we can't answer!"

When Bai Xue heard this, he shook his head. As the saying goes, there is no first in literature and no second in martial arts. Isn’t it true that literary talent competition is the competition, and no one really gets the first.

Everyone has their own strengths.

Zhuan Erbai's theory said: "The eleventh couplet has been released. Next, I will take the Quotations of the Four Saints to take the test of these candidates?"

"no problem."

Xu Shilin said: "Director Bai is the leader of the provincial college and the chief examiner of this examination room, and the quotations of Confucius were published by Dean Bai."

"I will take a passage from Meng Sheng and let them fill in the blanks!"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Appendix said, "Then I will take a passage from Zeng Sheng and let the candidates write out their meaning."

He Zhongliang said: "Since that's the case, then I will take what Confucius said to one of his 72 disciples and let the candidates fill in the blanks!"

Everyone nodded together.

Bai Xue looked at the candidates who were still thinking about the eleven couplets below, and coughed and said, "Students, it has been a while since the eleven couplets came out."

"Now start to evaluate the quotations of sages."

"There are four questions in total, each question is twenty, and the answer score is not certain. If the examiner gives one of the quotes from Confucius, the candidates will get twenty."

"It's meaningless to get ten points for only half, or a few words, and a few points for a few words. If the bull's head is not right, then the horse's mouth will be zero."

"Please look at the tour card and write down the first question."

Bai Xue said that he began to drop the "Kong Sheng pointed out: What are the three "three sins"? Where does it come from"

The first question is to directly evaluate the Analects of Confucius. For those who do not have some ability, the first question may be able to directly block them.

Question 2: Xu Shilin took a step forward, dipped his brush in ink, and wrote "Therefore, God will give a great responsibility to this man, you must first_______ (filler's fill in the blanks). Who is the author and where is it from?"

The second question is an obvious fill-in-the-blank, but those who really remember the answers may not be able to answer this question unless they really know Mencius very well.

The third question is, Zhou's appendix goes up and writes the following words: (There must be a master, the action must be a method, and the relatives must have a method) Who is the author, where does it come from, and what does it mean?"

In the fourth question, He Zhongliang thought for a while, and then wrote a passage on the patrol sign, "(I judge people by my appearance, lost son Yu) Who said this to whom? What does it mean?"

All four questions are quotes of sages.

The first question tests everyone’s understanding of Confucius.

The second question tests an article by Meng Sheng.

The third question tests the meaning of Zeng Sheng’s words.

Question 4 tests whether everyone can understand Confucius' self-reflection on his own mistakes.

After these four questions were mentioned, some people read the quotes of sages, but some people didn’t know what the “three mistakes” were. Even if they knew the “three mistakes”, they didn’t know where they came from.

Most people can answer the second question, after all, this is a very classic masterpiece by Meng Sheng.

Although the source may not be known to everyone, fill in the blanks at least a few points, right?!

As for the third question, the meaning is easy to explain, but it is difficult to explain the source.

In the ancient imperial examinations, most of the quotations of sages were excerpted from various classic works, such as "The Analects of Confucius", "Turn Left", "Spring and Autumn Annals".

But that doesn't count. Even if you answer that this is from "The Analects of Confucius", you still need to specify which article in the Analects of Confucius and what is the theme.

Therefore, in ancient times, the imperial examinations were taken in the memory of the candidates and memorized them by rote.

But this fine traditional virtue has been gradually forgotten in the twenty-first century on earth.

All things are dependent on notebooks, all words are dependent on pressing and speaking, all words are dependent on computer typing, and all chatting is dependent on mouth blowing.

The traditional virtues left by our ancestors can be kept in mind, remember, and few people can do it.

Li Bai also saw the patrol card. He wrote down the four questions of the patrol card and marked the sequence symbols clearly.

Seeing that the people outside were already writing, he was not in a hurry to write.

Instead, I clearly sorted out these four questions in my mind and decided that the answer was correct in my mind before I finished writing it.

The four examinees on the platform were looking at the joyful and sadness below, and they all shook their heads.

These frowning people can tell at a glance that they rarely study hard. Perhaps reading is just a cover for the sake of leisure, eating the old capital of the family, and doing romantic and happy things.

Of course! There are also many people who are busy writing answers, and these people are also learning with all their hearts.

Bai Xue especially likes such people. Even if his answer is not all correct, at least they can only write a rough idea after learning it carefully.

On the first question, Li Bai began to write down the "three sins" mentioned by Confucius

The so-called three faults come from "The Analects of Confucius·Ji", Chapter 16, which is a detailed record of the words and deeds of gentlemen in the political process of Confucius and his disciples.

Confucius said: There are three faults for serving a gentleman: speaking before the words are called impetuous; speaking without saying anything is called hidden; speaking without seeing the colors is called blind (blindness, meaning blindness is blindness, not knowing how to see the colors).

Before you can speak, it is called impatience. You interrupt before it’s your turn to speak, which gives you a “immortality”.

Speaking without saying anything is called hidden. When you talk about it, you should speak openly. It is not good to hide it.

If you don’t see the color, it is called blindness. You need to look at the face of the king and pay attention to the situation. The most classic allusion in history is Cao Cao and his chief clerk Yang Xiu during the Three Kingdoms period.

Yang Xiu claimed to be smart and thought through Cao Cao's thoughts many times, but in the end he didn't understand the situation. All of them were killed because he repeatedly pointed out Cao Cao's worries.

This is the color that has not been seen, which is called blindness, which implies that he is blind and does not know how to read...

Li Bai wrote the "Three Frauds" under the first title and indicated the source.

The second question is from Meng Sheng's "Mencius: Gaozi II"

This is a very inspiring article, which starts with "Shun is in the midst of acres, Fu Shuo is in the middle of the boards, Jiao Ge is in the middle of fish and salt, Guan Yiwu is in the middle of the scholars, Sun Shuao is in the sea, and Baili Xi is in the city."
