Chapter 908: The Change of Seizing the Door

Chongzhen wanted to give way, which really shocked Wang Chengen: "Your Majesty, you are in the prime of Spring and Autumn Period. How can you abdicate? Your Highness is still young, so it would be better for Your Highness to experience it."

Wang Chengen seemed to be right. Emperor Chongzhen was in his prime. Although Zhu Cilang was powerful, he was young after all. Young people were prone to impulsiveness and were prone to floating. Even Zhu Cilang himself was no exception.

Everyone has been frivolous at a young age, and Zhu Cilang always thinks about the great achievements he has made, so naturally he will inevitably expand.

Yes, this is something that I am very proud of. I, Zhu Cilang, saved the Ming Dynasty. This shaky and collapsed at any time, survived in my hands.

At least, Daming now seems to be on the verge of strength. Although there are only a little sign.

None of the officials in the court dared to question the prince's decision. Some of Zhu Cixuan's suggestions, even Emperor Chongzhen, were strongly opposed.

Now everyone knows that this prince is amazing, even like a monster that can see through people's hearts. Zhu Cilang seems to be able to see through everything and make no one hide in front of him.

This is extremely terrible. For example, when fighting, Zhu Cilang can always accurately judge the enemy's movements.

Of course no one knows that all this comes from the civilized education received by Zhu Cixuan. Now he has unprecedented prestige for those courtiers.

Even so, no one had ever thought of letting Zhu Cilang ascend the throne immediately. Emperor Chongzhen was in his prime, so how could he give way to the throne?

Even if you want to pass the throne to your son, you have to wait at least a few more years. When Zhu Cilang matures, he will gradually delegate his power.

But Chongzhen seemed to be enlightened, and he even said excitedly: "I am too tired. I should have wanted the throne long ago. It's just that I'm reluctant to accept it. I'm always worried about this child Ci Yang."

Wang Chengen breathed a little relieved: "Yes, yes, Your Highness the Crown Prince still needs some experience. Even if the emperor wants to abdicate, he will not be in a hurry at this moment."

Emperor Chongzhen smiled bitterly and shook his head: "Different, different kindness. The Ming Dynasty in my hands will only ruin the country and the people. I have thought about it. When the child Cixuan returns to the north, I will give the throne to him."

Wang Chengen was shocked. He served Emperor Chongzhen for many years and had long been used to the emperor Chongzhen. Once he abdicated, he became the Supreme Emperor. After the crown prince ascended the throne, no one knew what the Ming Dynasty was going.

Zhu Cilang is a great crown prince, but being a crown prince is not the same as being an emperor. Being a crown prince is not like being an emperor.

Chongzhen seemed to see through Wang Chengen's thoughts, and he waved his hand: "Don't persuade me anymore, I have thought about it. When the child Cixuan returned from the north and defeated Jiannu, I retreated to the Nangong and no longer cared about political affairs."

The Nangong is located in the southeast of the Forbidden City, namely Duanku Hutong, Nanchizi Street. It is also known as Chongzhi Hall, commonly known as Xiaonancheng. It was the Nangong in Beijing in the Ming Dynasty, namely Hongqing Palace. Later, Li Zicheng entered Beijing and burned it down. The Qing Dynasty no longer rebuilt it.

Four royal amusement parks were built in the Ming Dynasty: East Garden, West Garden, South Garden, and North Garden.

On July 16, the 14th year of Zhengtong, Emperor Yingzong of Ming was bewitched by the eunuch Wang Zhen, and led a large army to leave the capital and personally led the army to the expedition. On August 15, Emperor Yingzong of Ming was defeated and captured. On September 16, King Zhu Qiyu ascended the throne, and was the Ming Daizong, and he respected Emperor Yingzong of Ming as the Supreme Emperor. Later, Yu Qian, the Minister of War, successfully resisted the enemy and negotiated peace with the Ola. The leader of the Ola saw that Zhu Qizhen was useless, so he agreed to let Zhu Qizhen return to Yanjing.

Zhu Qiyu expressed his unwillingness to abdicate and once said to the ministers: "I am not greedy for the throne, but you who pushed me to the throne." On August 15 that year, Emperor Yingzong of Ming returned to China and was imprisoned in the Nangong by Emperor Daizong of Ming.

Nangong refers to the Nangong, a subsidiary of the Forbidden City, although it is not as small as the imperial palace, its scale is not too small.

The Nangong here is where Emperor Yingzong was imprisoned after Emperor Yingzong seized power from each other.

These two people can be said to have created a legend in the battle for the throne of the Ming Dynasty. After Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty, he was captured in the Oirat after the Tumu Fort in Zhu Qizhen, and Emperor Daizong succeeded to the throne.

Originally, in order to avoid the suspicion of the country of the lord, Yu Qian, Wang Zhi and other ministers reported to the Empress Dowager Ming, supporting King Zhu Qiyu as the emperor, respecting Emperor Yingzong of Ming as the emperor, and changing the reign of Jingtai the following year. During his reign, he knew people and was good at responsibilities, worked hard to govern, and valued them for Qian and others, winning the victory of the Beijing defense battle, repelled the invasion of the Oirat, rectified and reformed the political, economic, military and other aspects, and promoted the political rule of the Ming Dynasty from chaos to revive, and gradually revived. He was the wise ruler.

But history always likes to joke with people. At this moment, Emperor Yingzong, who was kidnapped by Oirat, was actually released by Yesen.

There cannot be two emperors in a country. Emperor Daizong is very clear that if he returns the throne to his brother, he will not have a good ending.

So Daizong arrested his own brother Emperor Yingzong and imprisoned him in the Nangong.

Then, Emperor Daizong, who was selfish, insisted on abolishing the crown prince Zhu Jianshen and replaced his own son Zhu Jianji.

As a result, Zhu Jianji died young and the position of the crown prince was vacant. In the eighth year of Jingtai, Emperor Jingtai suddenly became seriously ill and bedridden. For a moment, people were in panic. I wonder who would take over this huge empire.

The emperor welcomed him to Dong'anmen and drove into Nangong. All civil and military officials gave their respects."

Whether it was a carefree and a cold look, in fact, the Supreme Emperor who returned to Beijing in the first year of Jingtai was locked in Nangong for a full seven years.

The then ministers, Shi Heng, the Marquis of Wuqing, the governor Zhang Hu, the chief minister Xu Bin, the left deputy chief censor Xu Youzhen, and the eunuch Cao Jixiang, the eunuch under the former Wang Zhen, and others began to conspire to support the Supreme Emperor. In the early morning of the 17th day of the first lunar month, Shi Heng and Xu Youzhen led a thousand troops to control Chang'an Gate and Donghua Gate. The group of people knocked open the Nangong Gate, knelt in front of the Supreme Emperor Zhu Qizhen, and shouted in unison: "Please ascend the throne."

Zhu Qizhen was helped to Dengyu, and his group immediately rushed to Fengtian Hall. His highness's guard shouted loudly, and he shouted: "I am the emperor." The guard had to retreat with timidity.

On the morning court on the 17th, according to the convention, all officials were waiting outside the Meridian Gate before the fifth day of the morning. Suddenly, bells and drums in the palace sounded and the palace gate opened wide. Xu Youzhen loudly announced that the Supreme Emperor had been restored. The stunned officials and officials had no choice at this time. At the urging of Xu Youzhen and others, the whole team joined the officials to congratulate. Eight years later, Zhu Qizhen finally sat upright on the throne of Fengtian Palace again and became the Emperor of Ming Dynasty again.

Shi Heng and others broke through the Nangong gate and welcomed Zhu Qizhen to restore the throne. It was known in history as the "Taomen Transformation", also known as the Nangong Restoration.
