Chapter 907: Abandonment

Abdication refers to the ruler giving the position of the leader to others during his lifetime. "Zen" means "strongly recommended in front of his ancestors", and "give up" means "giving up the throne".

Yao was the more famous leader of the tribal alliance after Huangdi. Before Yao passed away, Yao gave up the position of leader of the tribal alliance Yu Shun and recommended Shun as emperor. This kind of abdication was called "abdication" in history.

Tang Yao passed the throne to Yu Shun, and at the same time passed the four words Yun Zhizhong; Yu Shun passed the throne to Dayu, which became a national philosophy for governing the country for five thousand years.

People respectfully called Yao, Shun and Yu the ancient kings for generations. According to Yao, Shun and Yu, "The heart of the Tao is only dangerous, the heart of the Tao is only subtle, the essence is only one, and the ability is only to hold on to the middle."

However, after entering the feudal dynasty, people's hearts have long since become old. Under the influence of selfishness, the son inherited his father's business and became the final destination.

The abdication system was the most beautiful virtue of mankind in ancient times, only because people at that time were simple and simple. Now, after human intelligence has been enlightened, this phenomenon naturally no longer exists.

People have selfish intentions, and the battles over imperial power are particularly fierce. For the sake of the throne, close relatives can also be killed. Examples of brothers killing each other and fathers and sons rebelling against each other are everywhere in history.

Even the emperor abdicated and most of the time passed to his sons was forced. For example, Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, forced his father Li Yuan to abdicate.

As a famous king of all ages, Li Shimin is like this, let alone other emperors of all dynasties.

We always talk about the Zhenguan rule, but few people know how awesome the Tang Dynasty was during the Li Shimin period.

"Zhenguan Governance" is a model for feudal rule. "Zhenguan" was the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty Li Shimin. During his 22 years of reign, he was aware of people and good at responsibilities, determined to reform, light taxes and reduce taxes, and developed culture, which made the domestic economy prosperous, the country strong, the politics clear, and the society stable, and presented a new atmosphere of a prosperous and prosperous society.

It is said that the country's prisons are often empty. In the fourth year of Zhenguan, only twenty-nine people were sentenced to death in the country. The social order is stable, and it has really reached the level of "no relic on the road" and "no house closing at night". Traveling around the country, you don't have to bring your own food, and you will get supplies at any time on the road. The agricultural harvest has been booming for years and the country is in a peaceful and peaceful situation.

In such a large Tang Dynasty, there were less than 30 death row prisoners in the country. This also indirectly reflects how prosperous and stable the Tang Dynasty was.

The national territory during the Zhenguan period was also quite large. Li Shimin destroyed the Eastern Turks and Western Turks, stabilized his rule over the northwest, and no more harm from foreign invasions. He also married Princess Wencheng to Songtsen Gampo, the king of Tufan, and consolidated the southwest.

Xinjiang. At that time, there were more than 70 countries that were envoyed with China. The powerful Tang Dynasty became the center of economic and cultural exchanges between Asian and African countries. Emperor Taizong of Tang was called "Tian Khan" by the leaders of various ethnic minorities.

More than 70 countries were all in conjunction with the Tang Dynasty, and they all regarded the Tang Dynasty as the supreme country of the Celestial Empire. In the hearts of these foreign countries, the Tang Dynasty was the supreme existence.

Tian Khan, what a supreme glory this is. Only Li Shimin deserves this title.

The problem is that a promising monarch like Li Shimin created an unprecedentedly glorious Emperor of the Tang Dynasty. His throne was not so correct.

Li Shimin, Changsun Wuji, Yuchi Jingde and nine others led their troops to ambush the Xuanwu Gate. Chang He, the chief general who guarded the Xuanwu Gate, had been bribed by Li Shimin, and he was just waiting to kill the eldest brother, Prince Li Jiancheng and the fourth brother, Prince Qi Li Yuanji, who was in the morning court.

As soon as the sky was dawn, Jiancheng and Yuanji walked to Linhu Hall and felt an abnormal atmosphere. They were about to pull their horses back to their homes. Suddenly, Li Shimin led a group of people and rushed over and shot Li Jiancheng to death with one arrow. The King of Qi Li Yuanji was also shot by Yuchi Jingde.

They died on the spot with Li Jiancheng and Li Yuanji's heads to the East Palace and the Qi Prince's Mansion, and killed Li Jiancheng and Li Yuanji's families, regardless of age, to kill and eradicate them.

Later, Li Shimin sent Yuchi Jingde to rush into the palace of his father Li Yuan. Later, Li Yuan issued an edict asking the soldiers of the Eastern Palace and the Qi Palace to stop fighting for revenge and venting their anger for the crown prince and the Qi King, and to let all the troops be commanded by Li Shimin. Two months later, Li Yuan issued an edict to be located in Li Shimin. Li Shimin was Emperor Taizong of Tang.

This is the famous Xuanwu Gate Incident in history.

Historical books say that the Xuanwu Gate's change was not "deliberate plan", but temporary response; it was not "violating the father's will", but in line with the father's will; it was not "striving the throne to usurp the throne", but because the crown prince Li Jiancheng wanted to kill Li Shimin, and Li Shimin was forced to rebel. Li Shimin is the orthodox world, and this position of emperor should have been his.

It is undeniable that Li Shimin's historical achievements have allowed the Chinese nation to stand on the top of the world. However, history is written by the winner. Is this the real situation really true? Does Li Jiancheng really want to kill Li Shimin?

At the beginning of Li Yuan's rebellion, he ordered Li Jiancheng to rule the left three commanders and Li Shimin to rule the right three commanders.

Li Shimin was named Queen of Tang, and he made Jian the "Crown Prince" and Li Shimin the "King of Qin". After becoming emperor, he firmly made his eldest son Li Jian the crown prince. He also believed that Li Shimin was not as arbitrary as Li Jiancheng.

It is no wonder that many people say that Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin, killed the crown prince and established himself as emperor was an act of no monarch or father; and killing his own younger brother was extremely vicious and even more inhumane.

To seek power and usurp the throne, you can do anything in front of imperial power. Imperial power is the most test of human nature.

Of course, there were also people who took the initiative to abdicate in history. For example, when Song Huizong Zhao Ji faced the Jin people's southward journey and did not want to be the king of the country to destroy the country, Song Huizong passed the throne to his son Song Qinzong.

As a result, after the failure of the Jin people's invasion in the south, Song Huizong was concerned about the benefits of imperial power again. He took the eunuchs away from the capital and tried to establish a small court. As a result, the second time the Jin people went south, both father and son were abducted.

The emperors of small countries are relatively generous. For example, many Dali kings avoided their throne as monks in their later years, passed the throne to their sons and became monks. This is because Dali advocates Buddhism and is different.

In the Ming Dynasty, after Emperor Yingzong was abducted by the Oirat, Yu Qian and other ministers elected Emperor Daizong of Yingzong to succeed to the throne. Later, after Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty was sent back by the Oirat, he became the Supreme Emperor who had not been long. Soon the palace changed to rob the throne.

Therefore, there are almost no one in history who can really want to pass the throne to others on their own initiative.

Some people may talk about the matter with Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. In fact, Qianlong, the hypocritical emperor, just passed the throne to Jiajing for his own false reputation. In fact, the Qing Dynasty's regime was still firmly controlled by the Supreme Emperor Qianlong.

It was not until Qianlong died that Jiajing was truly in power.

There are not many people like Emperor Chongzhen who actually abdicated voluntarily in history.

The reason why Emperor Chongzhen abdicated was very simple. His son Zhu Cilang was much stronger than himself. In his hands, the Ming Dynasty would definitely stand out!
