57 Chinese New Year

In recent years, due to work, I have hardly returned to my hometown during the Chinese New Year. The exception was the previous year. After my grandfather passed away, I was considered to have the money at the cost of my grandfather's death. The city is not as lively as the countryside of my hometown, but a little deserted. There are not many people on the whole street, and it is sparse and depressed. If the municipal government had not taken the lead in organizing a community fire activity and marching on the street, it would have made people feel the existence of the New Year atmosphere. I remember the New Year atmosphere in my hometown, and I miss it very much.

When I was a child, I was looking forward to the New Year every day. When the New Year comes, I will have new clothes to wear, I can get New Year’s money, and I can also buy some tricks with New Year’s money to play with.

The environment of my hometown has been mentioned many times in many articles, and it is a relatively backward mountainous area. Perhaps because of this backwardness, many customs and traditions have been passed down. Therefore, the New Year atmosphere has become more abundant.

On the 30th day of the twelfth lunar month, my father usually took out the long-closed pen and ink, bought a few red papers, and then turned on the almanac that he had studied several times. The vivid couplets were created after his father's thoughts and thoughts. My father usually admired his masterpiece with relish, and asked us who were also admiring us. Our brothers nodded and praised us repeatedly, and my father smiled knowingly.

My brother and I arranged couplets in the afternoon, staring at the words "Flocks of chickens and ducks" and "Fat and strong", as if we were doing something extremely majestic. Sometimes I even wonder if I paste these red couplets in the corresponding place, will you use your endless magic power to bless your whole year of peace and well-being?

At night, a whole family led by grandpa and fourth master to pick up the ancestors home. What we children were most interested in was helping the adults set off firecrackers. Amid the crackling sound of firecrackers, we kowtowed and burned paper. The ancestors might also be happy to follow us home. They took the ancestors to the table and put various sacrifices on them. The ancestors began to enjoy the sumptuous dinner prepared by their descendants. We started playing cards, chatting, and drinking. This day seemed to be a symbol of reunion. Only on this day can we look like a family, looking particularly united and cohesive.

In the early morning, after accompanying our ancestors to enjoy their lives, the young people went to the temple to burn incense. The temple was brightly lit, the green smoke was swaying, and the bells were ringing, and people from all villages came one after another. When they met the people they knew, they greeted each other, sent the best wishes of the year, and would humorously joke with their acquaintances. In the face of the gods, we were all very pious, praying, and kneeling down.

On the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, everyone gets up very late, which is a custom. Whoever gets up early will be a traitor, at least as the legend says. We actually woke up very early because there was another interesting thing waiting for us to finish. When we heard the adults talk, we quickly put on our clothes, carried the warm firecrackers in the quilt, and ran out with red paper with the words "Going out to see happiness". Following my father's instructions, we posted "Going out to see happiness", and lit the firecrackers with incense heads tremblingly. The sound of blasting sounds echoed in the whole valley. Then the blasting sounds came one after another, and it stopped until noon.

After eating the lunch prepared by my mother, the New Year's greetings began, and they went to pay New Year's greetings one by one. When they met the older one, they knelt down, indicating that they wanted to pay New Year's greetings to anyone. The younger generation at home would pretend to block it, but after kneeling down, they would no longer care.

From the first to the third year of junior high school, some villages will hold basketball games, and villagers from all directions will participate. With the harsh sound of the horns, the young men snatched me and fought for their own villages in waves of loess. It seems that the honor is extremely glorious. Whoever loses will lose face. A strong villager group is the highlight. In order to cheer the basketball team, some villages drive tricycles and trucks to pull a group of people. The scene is very similar to a group fight. Maybe they are always ready to fight.

After the basketball game, the community fire followed one after another. Everyone started beating drums and drums to create an atmosphere for the subsequent collection of the community fire. At first, people paid more attention to the community fire, making it look pretty and a bit eye-catching. But now it has evolved into a form, and the fun is not as good as before. Despite this, young people are still very enthusiastic, beating drums with sweat and whispering. This community fire has been played for more than ten days. As people run around all night every night, people's energy gradually weakened. On the last night, everyone became excited and cheered for the ending!

In the gap between these entertainment activities, there are social activities to visit relatives. You come and go, greet you in hypocrisy, and show your true feelings in greetings. The knees of New Year's greetings are almost worn out, and drinking tea is almost diabetic, so that the relatives are finished.
