(33) Meet the benefactor

Early the next morning, under my father's constant urging, I went out depressedly. When I passed by the front yard of the guesthouse, the two of them glanced at the small building at the same time. In the faint morning mist, the upstairs and downstairs were quiet. I don't know if Yin Hong went to work early in the morning or was deliberately avoiding us.

The father and son were speechless all the way, hurried out of the living area, crossed Renmin Road, at the entrance of the factory, I saw Senior Brother Xiao Cai, who was in the midst of the worker. I asked him to ask for a leave of absence for Squad Leader Xu, and said that he would accompany his father to the factory to do something. Senior Brother Xiao Cai nodded, called Master Wu intimately to his father, and rode his bicycle and left in a row.

On both sides of the path leading to the factory, the handsome Metasequoia trees were already lush with branches and leaves. I followed my father into the three-story building of the factory. When I passed by the administrative department, I couldn't help but glance inside. In the half-open door, Qin was sitting behind the desk with a big belly, changing his previous arrogance and arrogant attitude, leaning forward and talking to someone with a shy face. I felt that the man's back looked familiar. When he spoke, my heart skipped a beat. Why did the master come here early in the morning?

"Go away quickly." Dad saw me stunned in front of the door and pulled me over.

I went up to the third floor in a daze, followed my father to the end of the corridor, and stopped in front of the door with the secretary's sign hanging.

"Don't you know that Uncle Cui is here?" Dad murmured and stepped forward and knocked on the door.

"Who? Come in." There was an immediate response inside. My father carefully pushed the door open and I saw a shiny bald head.

"Old Wu, why are you here?" The bald man raised his face, and a illusory smile appeared in his white eyes.

"Call me, Uncle Cui!" Dad pulled me from behind, pushed me in front of his face, and urged him urgently.

Looking at this bald man sitting upright and thinking about the dirty scene in the night, I felt an indescribable disgust in my heart. After grunting for a long time, I couldn't say anything.

The bald man looked at me with a little difference. My father's old face turned red and he secretly pinched my arm hard.

"Uncle Cui..." My lips trembled and finally screamed.

My father felt relieved and wiped the sweat beads that were oozing out of his forehead, grinned and smiled: "Secretary Cui, don't be surprised, rural children are thin-skinned."

Secretary Cui glanced at his father with a smile, and stroked a strand of hair that had slipped to his ear back to his bald head: "His skin is not thin."

"Why, you've seen it." Dad turned his head and stared at me in surprise.

I didn't know how to answer, and stood there blankly. Secretary Cui said "um" quietly, pointing to the long chair opposite and greeted: "Old Wu, sit down, is it okay if you retire and go home?"

"Okay -, it's great. The child can come to the factory to take over this time. Thanks to your care, we have to be grateful for your kindness for the rest of our lives." Before my father's butt sat down, he couldn't help but owed him.

"You can't say that." Secretary Cui waved his hand casually, and a faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, "You are an old comrade in our cotton mill, so it's okay to take care of it. Besides, do we still have a master-apprentice status after all? Haha..."

"Secretary Cui, you dare not say that. You are the leader..." Dad's face suddenly turned bloody again because of Secretary Cui's teasing, and he owed his body uneasy again.

"Sit... sit..." Secretary Cui sprained his butt and turned to me with a smile, "You are calling..."

"Wu Ping." Before my father could speak, he hurriedly answered for me and his body became owed again.

"Kowen Tianwu, Peaceful Ping" Looking at my father's cowardly look, I simply opened my mouth and added by myself.

"Oh-by-by-one..." Secretary Cui remembered something and suddenly said, "You are Lu Yu's apprentice, right? Lu Yu has been transferred to the factory department to be a secretary."

"Secretary Cui, do you say Lu Yu... has become the secretary of the factory?" Dad didn't believe his ears for a moment, and looked at the bald head in front of him in a daze.

"Now that the ten years of turmoil have ended, we have begun to make things happen. This was decided by the factory meeting yesterday afternoon." Secretary Cui did not look at his father's expression, but continued in a calm tone.

Secretary Cui's words also shocked me. No wonder when I passed by the administrative department just now, I saw Qin Dabing's expression on his face pleasing to the master.

"You are promoted to the master now, and it's just an opportunity. I'll tell Director Tong, and you'll be adjusted to the workshop electrician team." Secretary Cui's eyelids stained with white cataracts showed a strange smile.

"Electrician team?" This time I thought I had heard it wrong, so my heart suddenly fooled me.

"Like your father, learn an electrician too." Secretary Cui nodded affirmatively.

For a moment, I felt like I was strangled by someone and felt a suffocating. After a moment of smile, I heard my father roaring, and his voice choked: "Secretary Cui——, you are the great benefactor of our Wu family. If Wu Ping can learn to be an electrician, how can he repay you in the future... in the future!"

Secretary Cui ignored his father's loyalty, but blinked Bai Yi's eyes and waved at me. I didn't know what to do and took two steps nervously. He opened his mouth with sour and rotten air and came to my ears and said word by word: "I will explain to you something. Xiao Yin, who was in front of you, happened to you last time. I asked the factory department to arrange for her to live in the guesthouse for a while. Please take good care of her. If you have any questions, you can come to me directly."

"Don't worry! Don't worry! This child is honest and obedient. If you have anything, just tell me. If you have such a great kindness to him, he will definitely listen to you." My father's head was like a chicken pecking at rice, and he kept accepting it for me. In fact, he didn't hear what the bald Secretary Cui had explained to me at all.

Before Secretary Cui could finish his words, he was interrupted by his father's eagerness to confess. He glanced at his father unhappily and his two decadent eyebrows frowned together.

My father realized that he was talking too much, so he quickly hunched his body and apologized cowardly, "Secretary Cui, I... have nothing good to give you. This time I brought two roosters who just started to scream from home. I will send them to Master Bao Er in the kitchen and ask him to fry you a 'boy chicken' at noon."

After coming out of Secretary Cui’s office, my father received our salary from the Finance Office and decided to ride a bike home immediately. I knew he was anxious to tell my mother the “good news” of me as an electrician.

"Listen to your Uncle Cui." When my father left the factory, he turned around and advised him again.

"What do you listen?" I angrily said to him.

"You just listen to whatever Uncle Cui said." My father didn't care about my attitude and continued to explain with a festive look on his face, "Work hard when you get to the electrician class, don't let Uncle Cui down, I'll leave."

The noon sunlight shone through the thin clouds, filtered by layers of new sycamore leaves, and a round halo swayed on my father's body. He turned around and kicked a few steps, scammering his legs on the "big golden deer". Looking at my father's back as he was leaving, thinking of Secretary Cui's ugly greedy face, I was extremely depressed, and my spine was tightened with coldness.
