(23) First try

For more than two weeks, every night after work, the master took me outside the city and started extremely rigorous training on the canal beach where spring grass sprouted.

I have learned four or five styles of Lu family's twelve styles. The master focuses on close combat, allowing me to connect with him again and again. Whenever I make moves and achieve the effect, he will give me affirmation and encouragement. I gritted my teeth and stifled without complaining, and fully realized that practicing martial arts is both difficult and boring.

With my own understanding and height, and the flexibility of fighting with Xiao Weizhuang Sanhong and her brother, I started by memorizing a few key points of movements. Without any martial arts skills, I gradually mastered some key points and skills through painful and repeated practices day by day, and felt that the more I practiced, the more I became more and more comfortable.

In addition to practicing martial arts with my master, I also love reading more and more. The books I borrowed from my master basically finished reading in two or three days. At first, I only picked out war novels from China and the Soviet Union, but later I really didn't have them anymore. I started to read some things that I didn't like very much. I remember Ba Jin's "Home", "Spring", "Autumn" and Mao Dun's "Midnight". I seemed a little trouble. It took me more than two weeks to finish reading them in a hurry.

It was Wednesday. The master told me that he had asked for leave and wanted to go back to the area. I asked him how many days it would take, and the master said that he would come back on Saturday. There was no weekend at that time, and he had to go to work on Saturday, so he could only take a day off on Sunday.

"You have to find an opportunity in the past two days and say to Yin Hong. We will treat him to dinner on Sunday." The master ordered softly to me.

"Where are you asking her?" I felt excited and asked quickly.

"Tell her, how about we take a boat to the canal and go to the reed beach of Wolong Lake to have wild game and have a picnic?" The master's eyes shone with joy.

"That's great, bird hunting is my trick." I jumped up excitedly.

"Okay, then I'll do it for you to have a slingshot." The master waved his arm firmly like a commander.

The master told me a few more words, "I will never leave my mouth, and I will never leave my hands." I can't be lazy. I patted my chest and agreed to him, and never slack off.

What I said to my master is definitely not bragging. Among the children in my hometown, I am a good player in playing slingshots, and I almost hit every bird shooting. My most brilliant achievement was to use a slingshot in the Grand Canal to hit a carp weighing more than two pounds. At that time, the carp was floating on the water and was shot quickly. Ergoudan and others jumped into the water, hurriedly pressing the fish head and hugging the fish tail, and then dragging it ashore. After hearing this, Sanhong, a brother from Xiaoweizhuang, threatened to surpass me. He stood on the canal beach with the poisonous sun and holding the slingshot, but in the end he didn't even hit a shrimp, and was ridiculed by the children in the surrounding villages.

Today, the master was not here, so I couldn't go to the canal beach. I thought about it and practiced my learning in the small courtyard of the guesthouse. I was going to go to the street first after get off work. I have been busy practicing martial arts recently. I have used up toothpaste and I have been doing it for several days. At that time, I was still planning economy, and the shops were state-owned and collective, and the opening time was from 9 to 5, just to facilitate the purchase of urban employees, which was postponed by half an hour than the commuter hours of work in ordinary units.

I hurried out of the factory gate in the afterglow of the sunset and came to the department store in the center of the city. I went to the second floor and arrived at the miscellaneous cabinet. The salesperson was about to get off work. I was a little impatient to write a piece of white jade toothpaste on a delivery note. She clamped the delivery note on the iron clip above her head and knocked it hard with a special bamboo stick. The iron clip flew along an iron wire to the cashier in the center of the mall.

I followed the delivery note to the cashier. After collecting my money, the cashier stamped a seal on the delivery note to prove that the money had been collected. Then he clamped it on the iron clip when he came and called it back to the grocery counter. The salesperson took the delivery note and confirmed that I had paid the money, so he gave me the toothpaste I wanted to buy.

The first time I experienced this complicated process, I felt very strange. I turned around and looked around. I saw different counters such as shoes, hats, cloth, daily necessities, stationery, musical instruments, etc., which were connected to the cash register through wires. Later I learned that these iron clips flying around one by one, carrying customer shopping information were called "Treizi". It is equivalent to our current data. The wire is a computer network cable, and various counters are different user terminals, and the cash register is a central processor.

When I walked out of the department store with my purchased toothpaste, the surrounding scenery had dimmed, the street lights on the street were not on, and the ancient bell tower had already merged into the twilight. When I passed by the cultural center, I saw that there were people gathering in darkness, and bursts of exciting music came from inside.

"What are you doing?" I walked in curiously and asked, standing behind the crowd.

"What are you doing? You didn't see it? Isn't this dancing?" A young man who was eager to try, glanced at me disdainfully.

"What kind of dance? Men and women hug each other and openly act like hooligans." An old man paused and replied to him dissatisfiedly.

"Well, why can't the Public Security Bureau catch up? You can't stand new things and your head is too old." The young man and the old man pushed up.

I didn't want to listen to their arguments, so I curiously pushed the crowd away and squeezed to the front. I saw several couples hugging each other, circling around the basketball court of the cultural center. This was the first time I saw someone dancing a social dance. As a shy rural child, we could curse people in public, but when we saw a couple of men and women holding each other openly, we still felt an indescribable novelty.

At the end of the song, several pairs of men and women on the dance field walked down hand in hand. I suddenly saw a familiar monkey face. The monkey face sat on a bench and hugged a modern-style girl next to me. The girl pretended to be arrogant and full of pretentiousness. Anger surged out of her heart. After practicing with her master for many days, she felt a little itchy in her heart, and she was planning to try her skills.

Another song began, and the monkey face pulled the girl to appear again. This was a fast-paced song. The monkey face hugged the girl's slender waist, shook her head and twisted her hips, kicked her legs and turned around, and was very busy. I judged the direction of the monkey face movement, quietly got into a dark shadow, and waited for the monkey face to dance to me, and when the monkey face danced to me, he took a look at the moment when he turned around, and suddenly stretched out his right foot and hooked it hard. The monkey face oh, a dog ate shit and threw it on the hard concrete floor. The modern girl in her arms was caught off guard because of his drag, and pressed her butt on his monkey face.

The monkey's face sprained on the ground for a long time before she barely got up. While smearing the blood from her nostrils, she opened her voice and started scolding people. Because it was dark and there was chaos, no one could see how he fell. I took advantage of the chaos and quickly squeezed out of the crowded cultural center.

When I returned to the guesthouse, the moon had climbed up to the top of the ginkgo tree. I ran happily just now. I was already sweating profusely. I worked hard and practiced the things taught by my master twice in front of the building. Then I returned to the distribution room, got back from an empty kettle, prepared to boil the kettle and rinse it well.

I wanted to go to bed quickly and finish reading Tolstoy's "Resurrection". I have now read the Chinese novels treasured by my master and have to read these foreign novels. However, this Russian bearded man is very well written. Although the sentences are a bit difficult to pronounce, the story deeply touched me.

Amid the sound of the water flowing water on the faucet, I was thinking about how to find Yin Hong tomorrow and told her that the master wanted to have a picnic. The water was full, and I picked up the kettle and was about to leave when the gate of the courtyard in front of me suddenly rang twice. The sudden movement was abrupt in the dark night sky. I felt aroused and I couldn't help but feel nervous. I was exhausted just now and I was immediately wiped out.

"Who?" I roared in a low voice and pulled the lights in front of the building.

"What are you calling? I'm your Aunt Cao." A hoarse female voice flew in impatiently.

Aunt Cao, Scar-eyed Aunt Cao, why are she here? Is anyone looking for accommodation now? I quickly walked to the door and unscrewed the door bolt. The small iron door was pushed open with a creaking sound. Aunt Cao, Scar-eyed, shook his fat body and squeezed in with a large bag of luggage.

"Why are you so shocked? You can't speak softly at night, you're scared to death." Aunt Cao, scared, gave me a dissatisfied look, turned her head and called softly behind her, "Hey, come in quickly."

As expected, someone is coming to stay. I have lived alone here for several months. The first time I met a guest, I curiously stretched over to watch. In the silent light, a lively figure crossed the threshold.

"Brother Wu Ping, hello..." Yin Hong walked to me with a treadmill.

I suddenly put it there, wondering if it was dazzled. It was true that Cao Cao arrived. I had not yet gone to find her as my master told me, but she actually found her by herself. I was about to speak, but Aunt Cao was pulled to the side by Scarey.

"Don't make a fuss! The last time Hu Xiumei came to the factory to make trouble, the impact was very bad. For Xiao Yin's safety, the factory department arranged for her to stay here for a while. Don't go out and talk nonsense. Have you heard it?" Aunt Cao, scar-eyed, said to me sternly.

"Well..." I was surprised and nodded in confusion.

Aunt Cao let go of my arm and continued to urge in her mouth, "Go and get the keys quickly, I have to clean out a room for Xiao Yin."

"Oh...I'll get it now."

The gentle moonlight flashed happily above my head. I hurriedly ran towards the backyard, and even forgot to take the steel pot full of water. An irresistible surprise spread in my heart.
