Chapter 1 Doubts

On the rooftop of an abandoned old building, a beautiful boy with delicate facial features and heroic spirit was quietly lying.

This beautiful boy, who is eighteen years old, is named Xiang Qi. He is the third generation heir to the world's leading technology giant Xiang Group. His clean and well-tailed uniforms of his noble high school are incompatible with the decaying environment of broken wells and ruins around him.

Xiang Qi felt that he had been sleeping for a long time. When he woke up, his body was heavy and his limbs were weak. He opened his sleepy eyes and saw the gloomy sky. Signs of heavy rain were coming. Xiang Qi was surprised. How could he sleep in such an open-air place? He remembered that after school yesterday, he went to the mental sanatorium to visit his childhood friend Zou Laichi, and then went home directly.

Memory is broken when it stays there.

Xiang Qi raised his wrist and looked at the time on the smart watch. It was displayed at 9:30 in the evening. It felt something was wrong. Although the sky was dark at this time, it looked like the daytime scene. Unexpectedly, I caught a glimpse of the date displayed by the electronic numbers. The sleepiness in my eyes was wiped out. I looked at it incredibly again. The date displayed at this time was a year and two months apart from the time he remembered yesterday.

Will this watch be broken? This was given to him by my grandfather. It is impossible for the quality problems that were handed to the old man. Besides, I heard that the product inspection results are satisfactory, and the current product launch conference is really in preparation, so the possibility of a smart watch failure is not high. However, it is hard to say that there are exceptions in everything.

Xiangqi stood up, walked to the edge of the rooftop, and looked around at the surrounding scenery. However, wherever he could see, there were dilapidated scenes - collapsed buildings and broken walls that blocked traffic. This devastated scene, rather than an earthquake, looked more like a city that had just experienced artillery fire. Because he was kidnapped by Middle Eastern militants when he was young and stayed in similar places for more than a dozen days, he was deeply impressed by such a scene.

Had he been kidnapped again?

But if he was really kidnapped, why didn't he restrict his personal freedom? And there was no one to guard him? In this way, he could easily escape.

What made him even more confused was that the decaying buildings were filled with aimless wandering crowds, leisurely and... stiff!

Yes, those idle pedestrians look extremely unnatural in their movements and expressions.

Xiang Qi leaned down in disbelief and looked closely at the pedestrians in front of him. They all had stiff faces, stiff eyes and stiff limbs. Although the light was dark, you could still vaguely see the exposed carrion on their bodies.

Zombies?

Xiang Qidun felt a chill hit his whole body.

Since Lin Xiaoya appeared, he knew that there were elves and vampires in this world, so he was cautious at this moment and would not be stupid enough to think that he was in the movie city, nor would he mistakenly think that those zombies as dense as ants were extras, and that there were ridiculously many.

Xiang Qi's heartbeat accelerated. When he got up, he accidentally swept off a small pile of sand and gravel in his sleeve. Although the noise was not very loud, the two zombies wandering nearby had already noticed it. When they turned their heads and saw the living people on the top of the third floor, they leaned over excitedly. Immediately, the nearby zombies heard the movement here and quickly gathered.

Their hearing and movements are extremely sensitive. Judging from the movement power after discovering prey, it is better to be zombies than zombies, because they are not stiff at all and they even know to climb up along the pipes outside the wall. Half of the low building where Xiangqi is located has collapsed, and some zombies climb up along one end to the cement board on the ground.

Xiang Qiyan saw that he was surrounded and hurriedly looked around the low building. He saw that the building closest to this side was at least five meters. Although the run-up distance was too short and he was not sure, he had to try his best. It was better to fall to death than to be bitten by these monsters.

Xiang Qi took a few steps to run, kicked hard on the edge of the low building, and flew over in the air alternately. However, his body was at the end of his strength, but his toes were still a few centimeters away from reaching it. When his body fell, his hands hooked the edge of the rooftop in time, and then he did not fall.

Xiang Qi turned his head and looked down. The zombies that followed him and jumped over all fell to the ground, some of which had broken their heads and stopped moving. Others who had broken their arms and legs got up tenaciously and staggered to join the zombie team. They came under him, and they were stepping on similar bodies, climbing upwards.

So, the weakness of these things is in the head.

After Xiang Qi came to this conclusion, he tried his best to pull up his arms, but he suddenly pulled his ankle with one hand stretched out from the window in front of him. Xiang Qi was so surprised that he almost took off his hand. After a few swings, he couldn't shake it away. Instead, he dragged the zombies in the window out, like two hanging sausages swaying.

The zombies on the ground had overlapped from the height of a small grave into a mountain. The one who climbed at the top had reached the sausage under Xiang Qi's feet and pulled it down with force.

The number of people below gradually increased. Xiang Qi's arms began to tremble. He kept kicking the hand that was pressed on his ankle with his other foot. However, the zombie did not feel any pain and did not let go no matter how he kicked it. Later, he kicked its head until the skull was broken, and the large bunch of grape-like zombies fell off.

Fortunately, I have been playing parkour with Zou Laichi and the others over the years, otherwise I would not have such good physical strength and skills to escape now.

Xiang Qi turned over to the roof and jumped over several low buildings before the zombies arrived. Because the noise just now was quite loud, almost all the nearby zombies were concentrated in the place where they were dragged just now, so his subsequent tumbling and jumping were not noticed.

I don’t know what happened in this city. There seems to be no survivors here. Most of them have evacuated. The remaining ones who have no time to escape are probably either torn to pieces or mutated.

Xiang Qi did not dare to make any sound easily, and tiptoed into the building. He found a newspaper full of Arabic words in the room.

He didn't know much about Arabic words, but it can still be seen that it was a Shulia official newspaper, October Daily, which mostly published news about the United States' mistaken bombing of local hospitals, or Russia's agreement to send troops to support government forces, and China's provision of humanitarian support to the local area.

But why are there zombies? Did the reactionary armed forces use biological and chemical weapons against the residents here?

Although he was full of suspicion, he at least knew that this was a city in Syria.

However, when his eyes fell on the date of the newspaper's release, he couldn't help but be stunned.

That was the day that had not yet arrived in his memory!

Did he travel to the future?

Or is there something wrong with memory? Why is there a gap of more than one year and two months?

What happened during this period?

Why did he appear here?
