Chapter 1930 Crazy raving in the name of the father

Steve took Frank all the way to the place where he lived. This was a relatively private territory. Even inside Hydra, no one would be so uninterested that he came to find out about his personal life. So this place was still safe, and after coming to such a safe place, Steve couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"You will stay here for the time being. I'll get you some food and water. Take a break and wait until the time is right, I'll send you out of here."

Steve released his good intentions for Frank. However, Frank was not so willing to accept such good intentions. It was difficult for him to understand Steve's behavior. Even if he did feel guilty like Smith Zhou said, this should not be enough to support his actions. Did he have other intentions? Or is this a new conspiracy?

Frank always kept this in mind, which made him resist Steve.

"Don't pretend to me, Steve Rogers. Tell me the truth, why did you rescue me? Is it really out of guilt for my father, or is it your conspiracy?"

"None are, kids. I just think that the wars of our generation should not involve your generation, that's all!"

Steve, whose beard had already grown long and seemed to be more and more leader-like, stopped the movements in his hands. He could hear that Frank was very cautious. If he didn't give a reasonable explanation to him, he would probably continue to fight against him like this. This was wasting his own opportunities and his time. And he didn't have the time to keep making trouble with him like this, so Steve immediately explained to him.

"First of all, you have no actual value to us. The relationship between us is only because you are Tony Stark's son, and Tony and I have a personal grudge that cannot be explained clearly. I am a bit biased towards you for his sake. In fact, if you have known me and what I have done, you should know how rare it is to let you get out of there alive."

"Smith is not a person who likes to talk about forgiveness, and neither is me. It is pure luck to survive, so why not accept this luck and live honestly?"

"Because I don't want to be betrayed by others, I don't want you to stab me in the back like I was stabbing my father!"

Frank quickly refuted, but this reply was more of accusation for his father than from his own perspective.

The two biggest knots of his father's life were that he betrayed his friends and was betrayed by his friends. Especially the latter, the grudges between the two can even be traced to the previous generation.

As a son, Frank was not qualified to argue about his father's personal grudges. However, today when he thought his father had died, he felt that he should have made an explanation for this matter no matter what.

It may be a bit high to make Steve pay for his betrayal, and perhaps it cannot be done for the time being. But he thinks at least, Steve should respond to his betrayal and explain the reason.

This is also the answer his father has always wanted to know, but he has never had the opportunity to ask. Now that he has had some contact with Steve and has such an opportunity, he should understand the answer.

"Why do you want to betray? Is there anything my father has to do to you?"

"Is this related to you?" Steve was able to keenly realize that Frank wanted to explore some secrets in his heart. He obviously had no intention of making such secrets public. So he asked back and refused indifferently. "You don't have to worry about betrayal. Believe me, you only need to rest for one night and leave here so that you and me will not have any contact. Since there is no connection, there is naturally no problem of betrayal."

"Is this your answer? I'm so curious. If my father was here and asked you this way, how would you answer him?"

Frank didn't care about Steve's rejection, and he was still pursuing the answer. For this reason, he even moved out his father, hoping to let Steve open his mouth. And the fact is true. If he only asked this topic alone, Steve would probably not openly talk about this question at all. And if he asked this question again, Steve would find it difficult to remain silent as he asked this question.

"Let's eat something first. We still have some time. We can talk about this kind of thing slowly."

He took out a quick-heating portion of food from the refrigerator and stuffed it into the microwave. Steve thought about it and took out two cans of beer and a bottle of milk. The beer was for him, and the milk was placed in front of Frank.

"It is used to feed stray cats milk, but don't worry, there should be no other problems except that they are about to expire. Wait a moment, it's OK."

With a tingling sound, the microwave automatically turned on, Steve placed a piece of food that looked a little mushy in front of Frank, and then, as expected, saw a look of disgust on his face.

"Sorry, but there is only this kind of food here. You should know that this is India, which should be the most uncommon place in the world. All humans, animals, and crops have already undergone lesions, countless people are hungry, and only a very small number of people can eat such things. So, don't waste it. If you endure it a little, you will actually find that its taste is acceptable."

"What are these?" After scooping a spoon, Frank took out a few fat strips from it. This made him feel nauseous and even started to retreat without any concealment. For him, who had been a child, and the most unpalatable thing he had ever eaten was a cheeseburger, such things could be called food, which was simply an insult to food. Naturally, he began to question angrily.

"The earthworms, dug out from deep ground, are quite clean, or are the few species on this land that are not contaminated by radiation. It is just one of the ingredients. Believe me, don't look so ugly, it is actually the best-looking one."

"Damn, can this thing be eaten?"

Frank threw the spoon directly. If it weren't for Frank, he would probably have thrown out the bowl. After Haoxuan did not turn the so-called food into garbage, Steve looked at Frank with some reproach, and then solemnly put it back in front of Frank.

"If you don't want to eat, please don't waste it. Am I not clear enough to you? This is something that not many people can eat even in this city."

“Where is this?”

"Kolkata. Have you heard of this city?"

"Of course!" Frank began to sneer. "India's third largest city, during the British colonization, it was the former capital of British India. And what surprised me was here. A city with a long history and huge scale now cannot even bring out a decent food. Is the rule of Hydra really miserable to this extent?"

"I know what you want to say. You think you shouldn't eat something like this in my capacity, right?"

"Isn't this a matter of course? Human betrayal will only be due to a larger price. If your betrayal is only exchanged for such treatment, I really couldn't imagine what the reason for your betrayal was!"

"There are many types of price numbers, and the so-called treatment is actually just the most insignificant one. It's just that most people choose it, so so many people regard this as a measure. For me, it's not."

Shaking his head, Steve picked up the spoon, scooped a spoon from the sticky food, and put it in his mouth. Of course, there is no need to say much about the taste. Even if he is used to eating this food, he still can't help frowning when eating this food. It can be imagined how terrible the taste of this thing is, and even with such a terrible taste, Steve still insisted on swallowing it into his stomach.

"As the leader of Hydra, I can really enjoy things that others cannot enjoy. For example, when others swallow this food, I can eat red wine and delicious meals. Even if the whole world is blocking India now, I can still eat the top steak and the most authentic French meal. But I didn't choose to live such a life because it doesn't make sense to me. In comparison, I would rather eat this kind of thing that ordinary people can eat because it tells me more."

"Kolkata is the sixth city rebuilt by Hydra on the land of India. As one of the key cities that the nuclear bomb attacked, it was not so easy to complete the reconstruction work on the ruins of this city. I worked hard for a long time before I could barely achieve this. Even if it was rebuilt, it would not be so easy to restore it to its normal trajectory."

"Food, water, daily necessities, everything is scarce. Every day there is no shortage of people starving to death, and in the least lack of manpower, we set this for a working meal in Kolkata, so that all those who work for Hydra in this city can get enough to fill their stomachs."

"I know this is far from enough, so I volunteered to eat the same thing as them. It's not a show, nor does it need a show. I just hope to remind myself in this way that I need to do better and have to do better."

After saying this, Steve quickly stuffed the remaining food into his mouth, and after he sipped a few sips of beer, he reluctantly swallowed it.

This made Frank frown, but soon he sneered again.

"It sounds really touching, as if you are really thinking about them. Then the question is, Mr. Steve Rogers, what caused them to see today, and what made them even treat such a piece of garbage as a delicacy? Don't tell me there is no slight responsibility for you. If it weren't for your trouble, Indian food wouldn't be worse than what they were going to eat today."

"I admit that they were my fault today, and I never thought I was innocent, nor did I defend my behavior. I know what I did, and I know that I and everyone in Hydra can go to hell. But if I were asked to choose again, I would still do it. Because this is just the beginning, the child. Just like surgery, it is impossible for them to improve without cutting off the damn rotten meat and not letting the whole human beings experience the pain of bones. These are all necessary measures, and someone always needs to do it!"

"So, that's your reason right? About betrayal?"

Frank keenly noticed Steve's attitude, and he immediately asked back.

"Betrayal? This is actually just a label that your father has unilaterally added to me. Perhaps for him and his former partners, what I did was indeed betrayal. But for me, this is not. You must know that I am a person who came from war. My biggest dream is to build a world without war, without fighting, and only a bright future. Unfortunately, this is a result that you will never get with your father and others. So, I chose another path. It is the only one that I think is feasible and is the only one that I can do."

"You call this feasible?" Frank felt that Steve should be crazy. Because he was not a madman, he would not have such an idea. Anyone who saw this vast sight and who saw this doomsday scene would not think that it had any connection with the bright future that belongs to mankind.

War, madness, deformity, alien species. The horror created by Hydra in these few years is even greater than any terrible war in human history. If they allow them to continue like this, the demise of human beings is just around the corner. If Steve pursues demise and the collapse and disintegration of the entire human race, then it is understandable that he does this. But he pursues the opposite, and this is impossible to be reasonable.

He could not imagine that his father's betrayal was just because of such a crazy reason. He was trying to fight for his father and he was so unceremonious that he argued against it.

"If you weren't crazy, then I was crazy. Look at all this you did, sir, how can you connect them with the so-called bright future? Can you tamper with the facts so casually in order to whitewash your behavior?"

"This is just a process, and what I expect is the result. You have not experienced war, and you cannot know how terrifying the process of war is. This is just the norm. Even if we are not doing it, in the future, as long as human beings are not unified, this will happen sooner or later. And this is the key to my consideration, children."

"Did you know? I wasn't completely asleep during the icy seventy years. Smith had tampered with me and could make me think clearly about everything about the world. Although these thoughts would be sealed later, they would sooner or later as time goes by."

"And I have figured out a lot of things here. The most important thing is about humans. Do you know what the greatest difference between humans is? It is race, country, and all the opposite and inconsistent things in this world. As long as these things exist for a day, humans will never stop this internal struggle. Technology is constantly moving forward. Hundreds of years ago, people were fighting with swords and guns, and a battle would only kill tens of thousands of people. During World War II, humans had learned to use guns to kill millions of similar people. Now, we can do more with biochemistry and nuclear bombs, and in the future, do you know if humans will use weapons that can destroy all of them in an instant?"

"That's no future, child. For me, all I can do is to stop such a future with all means, and to do my best to eliminate these oppositions. And your father, Stark, is unfortunately one of these oppositions. Although he is a hero in your eyes, just imagine if there were no Hydra and no such behaviors of ours. As a strong person, once he commanded the American government, what do you think he would be for the rest of the world?"
