Chapter 83 The Beginning
"I bring you the second part of the confession you want, Colonel." A SS major wearing a black leather windbreaker walked into Kirsten's office with a briefcase.
"You are here at the right time. Please wait a moment, Major Cole." Kirsten was flipping through a document. She looked up at the major and then lowered her head. The SS major strode towards the desk and saw that there was an army lieutenant sitting on the chair in front of the table. When she got closer, she realized that the man was actually a female officer.
"You can get to know each other. This is Lieutenant Lamona Liman." Kirsten did not look up, but just raised his hand casually and pointed at the Lieutenant.
"It's an honor to know such a beautiful lady, the captain of the SS Second-level Commando, West Cole." Major Cole's handsome boot heel hit and nodded to the lieutenant.
"I'm also very happy to know you, Major Cole." Lieutenant Lieman nodded politely, with a generous attitude but keeping a distance.
"Warning you not to attack my subordinates, Cole." Kirsten finished reading the documents, and she picked up a pen to sign the blank space beside the table.
"I understand, Colonel." Cole nodded quickly and agreed.
"Don't care about what I said just now. He is a playboy. Your report is very well written. It seems that you are familiar with this job. Your teacher is not bragging. You are indeed his best student." Kirsten pushed the document in front of Li Man.
"Major Ehard gave me a lot of help, Colonel." Liman picked up the papers from the table and put them in the cowhide bag at his feet.
"No need to be modest, Lamona. Intelligence analysis is very important in our business. Often a trivial discovery may change the end of a battle. I am looking forward to your future performance. Welcome to the Eye of Odin, Lieutenant Leeman." Kirsten stood up and reached out to Leeman.
"It's an honor to be able to work under your leadership, Colonel Kirsten." Liman held the colonel's hand and shook it hard.
"Now, let me see what the result has been." Watching the young lieutenant leave, Kirsten turned his face to the SS officer.
"Our enemies have been trained quite professionally, and we had to use some technological means to pry out these things from their mouths." Cole sat down on the chair and took out a stack of documents from his briefcase.
"Technical means?" Kirsten took the document from Cole, and she was a little curious about the major's words.
"Well, some special drugs, but don't worry, there is no problem with confession. The main reason is that these people have been trained in counter-questioning. There is a guy who even falls into a coma when we use torture. We can only use drugs to keep them awake and feel pain in real life. Speaking of this, we have to focus on Dr. Hamd. The effect of his improved electrotorture is really amazing." Major Cole was excited when talking about business problems.
"Okay, don't need to describe it in detail to me. I believe in your professional abilities." There are many monsters among the torture experts of the General Security Bureau. Kirsten asked himself if he doesn't have the kind of good appetite they have.
"Everyone thinks that if Major Jurgen is here, the time to complete the task may be shorter, but unfortunately he is still in Italy now. To be honest, I am really a little jealous of him, Colonel, thinking that Jurgen is now lying comfortably on the beach in Rome basking in the sun, while I squatted in the basement of the General Administration, serving a group of stubborn Russians." Major Cole was obviously familiar with Kirsten and was not at all when he spoke.
"If you are not satisfied with your current job, I can order you two to exchange. I believe Major Jergen will be very happy. He is now cleaning up the mafia in Sicily and is in a state of great difficulty. Yesterday he called me for a long distance call. The work efficiency of the Italian military police was almost driving him crazy, but he has no right to shoot any idiot." Kirsten said coldly.
"Oh, when I didn't say anything before, Colonel. I think I'd better deal with the Russians, at least they're all tough guys." Cole raised his hand to surrender.
"Is the interrogation very difficult?" Kirsten turned a page to confess.
"When you say, how could it be that not big? These stubborn Bolsheviks, who have as firm belief as we do. We used almost all kinds of torture instruments on them. To be honest, I really admired the strength they showed at that time." Cole nodded and said.
"Don't admire your enemies, Major." Kirsten lowered his head and turned over another page.
"I understand that this is just a matter of position. They are loyal to their country and we are also doing our responsibilities." Major Cole took out the cigarette box from his pocket.
"Is that OK?" the major signaled to Kirsten.
"The ashtray is on the coffee table." Kirsten waved his hand.
After staying in a place where smokers gathered in the command headquarters for a long time, Kirsten had given up his plan to ban smoking in the office. His boss, General Weirle, likes to smoke, not to mention that there is a head of empire who likes to visit everywhere with cigars in his arms.
"These confessions are of great use to our plan. We must make full use of this information before the Soviets noticed that the secrets had been leaked and made targeted changes to this end." Kirsten closed the folder and placed it in the file box on the table.
"Are the names and addresses of the people in Russia really useful? I think the intelligence station they provided in Konysburg before is more valuable." Major Kohl placed the ashtray along his desk and rebuilt it on a chair and sat down.
"That intelligence station has been under our surveillance, and now we have to act before they move. From a certain perspective, retaining this intelligence station is more useful than destroying it. And these names and addresses that you seem to be useless mean a huge network of people, which is exactly what we need now, whether these people want or not, they will use them for us, just in a way they don't like very much." Kirsten said calmly.
"I think I understand what you mean, Colonel. By the way, what is Frank doing during this period? Last time I heard that he went to Romania, I don't know when he will be back to Berlin. I haven't had a drink with him for a long time." Cole lit a cigarette and threw the match into the ashtray.
"Major Kaorrich is carrying out a confidential task. I can't tell you where he went. Don't look at me with this look. Cole, you're no longer a child." Kirsten bent down and opened the cabinet door beside the desk, and took out a bottle of "John Walking" from it.
"This is from the mail bag he sent, and in the letter he indicated to hand over the bottle of wine to you." The colonel placed the bottle on the table.
"What a friend, Frank hasn't forgotten me." Cole happily took the bottle and then stuffed it into the briefcase he brought.
"You bring this order back, this is the order issued by the Head of State himself. Himmler has the same document in his hand. This is for Lieutenant Colonel Schrenberg." Kirsten took out a document from the drawer.
"There is the signature of the head of state on it, do you see clearly?" Kirsten pointed to Xu Jun's signature in the blank space and said.
"The will of the head of state is the mission." Cole closed his smile and replied with a serious expression.
"That's it, I'll have a meeting later." Kirsten closed the folder and handed it to Cole.
"Then I'll say goodbye, Kirsten." Cole carefully packed the documents, then stood up and squatted out the cigarette in the ashtray.
"Hi! Reinhart!" The SS Major raised his arms.
"Hi! Reinhart." Kirsten raised his right arm.
