Chapter 31 Old Friends (Part 2)(2/2)

"What about you and the colonel?"

"We've all eaten, and now we want to have a walk."

"Okay, obey your order, General."

Weirle slowly walked to a corner of the yard and sat down on a stone beside the corridor.

"His Excellency Chief of Staff, look, the stars all over the sky, it seems that tomorrow is a good day." Daogen walked to Weille and looked up at the sky.

"Yes, I'm going to enter Paris tomorrow. I hate rainy inspections."

Weirle pulled out his cigarette case and lighter from his pants pocket, and then pulled out a folded document from his chest pocket.

Weirle opened the cigarette box, pulled out a cigarette from it, put it on his ivory cigarette holder and held it in his mouth.

Then he expanded the file and checked it in the afterglow of the searchlight, then neatly turned on the lighter, and the jumping flames lit the file.

"General, what is this?" Daogen asked in confusion.

Weirle raised his hand and lit the cigarette with the document. After taking a deep breath, he threw the document that was almost burning to his fingers at his feet.

"The head of state gave Canaris the amnesty order." Weirle said calmly.

"What! Then you?"

"The Head of State asked me to decide whether to use this certificate of pardon according to my personal judgment, and this..."

Weirle pointed to the ashes that were still emitting wisps of blue smoke on the ground.

"It's my answer."
