Chapter 8 Brothers (Part 2)

As the saying goes, relying on the mountain to eat the mountain. In the 1970s, almost people living in Weijia Village would go up the mountain to pick some mountain goods to subsidize their families. Since there were no wild animals in the square mountain, many people would also take their half-aged children up the mountain. The Taoist temples of old Taoists are often a place for them to rest.

When Fang Yi was young, there were seven or eight children on the mountain every day, but there was another story among them.

In the winter of Fang Yi's eight or nine years old, the adults at home went to the forest to pick mushrooms. Six or seven children were bored and ran to a forest two miles below the Taoist temple to play, holding branches as swords, and laughing and making fun.

After playing for a while, Sanpao took out a frozen dead snake from a tree hole and picked it up to scare a little girl they were playing with. But what everyone didn't expect was that the snake was not dead, but entered hibernation itself.

In Sanpao's hands, the snake gradually recovered, and suddenly and without warning, took a bite on Shanpao's forearm. The snake venom that had accumulated for several months suddenly numbed Sanpao's nerves. In just a few minutes, Sanpao's mind was no longer awake.

The oldest child who played with him was only ten years old. Seeing this scene, almost all the children were shocked and ran back one by one. The only ones who were still with Sanpao were Fatty and Fang Yi.

Although Fang Yi was very young, he had followed the Taoist since he was a child, but he was not panicked. He immediately took off the shoelaces on Sanpao's white sneakers, tied his forearm tightly, and then picked up a sharp stone on the ground and cut a cross on Sanpao's swollen wound.

Fang Yi heard from his master that if a person is bitten by a snake, he must suck out the snake venom as soon as possible. So after cutting the wound, Fang Yi directly sucked the snake venom out of his mouth. Until the blood flowing out of the wound changed from black to red, he stopped his mouth.

However, Sanpao was still unconscious at this time. Fang Yi's lips had swollen and old height after sucking the snake venom. He was even more exhausted and had no strength to return to the Taoist temple with Sanpao on his back. Fortunately, Wei Jinhua, nicknamed Jinhua, was still there, and he climbed more than a mile of mountain road with Sanpao on his back, and met the old Taoist priest and others who heard the news on the way.

Because Fang Yi was treated in time and the snake was not very toxic, after the old Taoist fed Sanpao's snake medicine, Sanpao slowly recovered and became vibrant the next day. Instead, Fang Yi, who sucked out poisonous blood, had his lips swollen for three or four days before he subsided.

After this incident, Fang Yipeng Sanjun and Wei Jinhua, who were suffering from hardships, got closer and closer, and almost every time they went up the mountain, they would play together inseparablely.

Peng Sanjun, who was not talking much, was ignorant Taoist priests and charlatans, and even though he was shouting in his mouth, he had been thinking that Fang Yi, who was a little younger than him, was a big brother since he was a child. Every year, he would ask relatives in the city to bring some books up the mountain to give to Fang Yi.

Fang Yi had no father or mother. Apart from the old Taoist priest, Peng Sanjun and Wei Jinhua in front of him were the closest people he was. The friendship between the three brothers who lived in life since childhood did not change at all due to the passage of time.

"Fatty, don't bully Sanpao all the time. I'm going to stand up for trouble..." After watching for a while, Fang Yi also joined the battle group, but rather than going to fight, it would be Fang Yi who separated the two people who were rolling on the ground.

"I would have lived in such a big yard by myself..."

After a long time of fighting, Fatty and Sanpao stopped and looked around with their heads tilted. The fat man said, "Sanpao, I think it's better for Brother Yi to live in you. Anyway, you're the only one living..."

The name of Sanpao was Peng Sanjun. His parents were not originally from Weijia Village, but educated youths who were sent to Weijia Village in the 1970s. Due to policy issues, they failed to catch up with the last batch of educated youths returning to the city, so they settled down in Weijia Village.

Peng Sanjun's second uncle worked as an engineer soldier for several years in the 1970s and learned the skills of blasting. After retiring from the army in the early 1980s, he ran to Weijia Village and started a stone business with Peng Sanjun's father. In recent years, they protected the mountains and returned to the forest, and then they finished their business and returned to the city.

Many of Peng Sanjun's relatives lived in Shanghai and Jinling. In Jinling City, there was also an ancestral home left by Peng Sanjun's grandfather to his father. After Peng Sanjun left as a soldier, his parents went to Jinling's ancestral home to live.

Therefore, the house that Peng Sanjun's family stayed in Weijia Village was left empty for the past two years except that his parents occasionally came back to clean up. Because the house in Jinling City was too small, and Peng Sanjun was unwilling to stay by his parents and was restrained, he returned to Weijia Village.

"Of course Brother Yi wants to live here. I will buy all the clothes he wears in the future..." After Sanpao entered the house, he picked up a bag from the table and threw it to Fang Yi and said, "You kid are a fake Taoist priest. Don't wear such a Taoist robe all day long. Quickly change the clothes..."

"Let's change now?" Fang Yi hesitated a little. He grew up wearing Taoist robe since he was a child. Now that he asked him to wear other clothes, Fang Yi was really uncomfortable with it for a while.

"Nonsense, of course I've changed it now, Benny Road, brand-name goods..." Peng Sanjun smacked his lips and said, "This outfit cost me more than 200. If you don't wear it, you will give it back to me. I can still take it to return it..."

"Wear, who said I don't?"

Fang Yi gritted his teeth. He knew that from the day he went down the mountain, his future life would be completely different from when he was on the mountain. If he wanted to integrate into this society, let alone change his clothes, he might be afraid that the temples on his head would be untied and a new hairstyle would be changed.

It is the time for spring and summer to go.

"Hey, when you change your clothes, the Taoist priest will immediately return to secular life..."

After Fang Yi changed out of the slightly worn Taoist robe, Sanpao and the fat man's eyes lit up at the same time. Sanpao reached out and said, "Put down your temples, it looks a bit awkward..."

"Okay..." Fang Yi nodded and lowered the temples that were tied to his head. The long hair suddenly dropped to his shoulders, and his whole body looked increasingly unrestrained.

"What are you two watching me?" Fang Yi, who was a little unaccustomed to it, looked at Sanpao and the fat man in front of him, and said angrily: "Master Dao, my face is covered with flowers again. Why do you two always stare at my face? Haven't you seen it since you were a child?"

"I've seen it..." The fat man nodded honestly and said, "But I've never seen you like this..."

As the saying goes, people need to wear clothes and Buddha need gold. Fang Yi changed his clothes and changed his hairstyle, which really made Fatty and Sanpao a little stunned, because the little Taoist priest in front of him changed his body and even his temperament was different.

When Fang Yi put on that dress, Sanpao and Fatty felt like Fang Yi was a white-collar worker in the city. The clothes worn by the city people did not feel any incongruity on Fang Yi, as if he should be wearing this.

You know, the fat man has been working in the city for several years since he joined the army to retirement, but no matter how he wears clothes, he always gives people a feeling of being out of place with the people in the city. How could he be like Fang Yi? Just changing his clothes makes him feel like the people in the city.

When Fang Yi put down his temples, the feeling that Sanpao and Fatty suddenly changed. Fang Yi, with long hair, seemed a little unruly, but it was a bit like the rock stars they saw on TV, with such a remarkable taste in his bones.

"Or... I'd better change back to Taoist robe..." Fang Yi felt itchy all over his body when he put on this new outfit, especially when he was stared at Sanpao and Fatty, he seemed to be covered in small insects, and he wanted to take off his clothes immediately.

"No, this is great, just tie your hair up..."

Hearing Fang Yi's words, Sanpao and the fat man stopped Fang Yi's movements in unison. Sanpao even ran into the drawer and flipped over for a while, took out a rubber band and said, "This is what my mother used before. You can make do with it first. When we go back to the city, we will find a barber shop to cut your hair again..."

"It would be great if I asked this to..."

The fat man shook his head and said, "Look at Fang Yi's current temperament, does he look like an art-making person? The male stars on TV are not as good as Fang Yi. If he goes to the entertainment industry, those male stars will definitely lose their jobs..."

Although the fat man said something a bit exaggerated, Fang Yi's appearance is indeed good. The lines on his face were originally a little tough, but with Fang Yi's extremely pure eyes, it gives people a very soft and sunny feeling.

"What entertainment industry? Is it just singing?" After hearing the fat man's words, Fang Yi said curiously: "My song is just as good as I can't do that line..."

"Don't listen to the fat man fooling you..." Sanpao said with a smile: "No matter how good you sing, you can't enter the entertainment industry. That circle is too far away from us. I said we should find something to do and support ourselves first..."

"If you don't say it, I forgot to come for what I came..." Hearing Sanpao's words, the fat man suddenly started shouting, "You kid called us to come over for dinner, so let's finish it first..."

It was okay if they didn't mention eating. When they mentioned what they had eaten, Fang Yi and Fatty's stomachs started to growl. Especially when they saw the six dishes and one soup on the table, they couldn't help it and went straight to the table. The Fatty reached out and picked up the bottle of wine on the table.

"Hey, I said Sanpao, I'll give us Fenjinting a drink? Are you too stingy?" The Fenjinting mentioned by the Fatty is a low-end wine produced in the local area. It was very popular in the early and mid-1990s, but it seemed a bit unlucky at this time of two thousand years.

"My buddy is currently discussing a partner. Now I can't even pay ten dollars in my pocket. It would be nice to be able to take out this wine..."

Sanpao was a little depressed and his face turned red. In fact, he had originally brought two bottles of Huzhou Laojiao from his home in the city, but he accidentally knocked it off on the way. When he saw that there was no money in his pocket, he could only spend a few dollars to buy two bottles of bad wine at the convenience store in the village.

"I have a little bit of Monkey Wine. I can barely drink it with some other wine. Let's drink this today..." Seeing Sanpao's awkward look, Fang Yi took out the wine gourd from the box and pushed it away. Although there were not a few drops of wine inside, the smell of the wine filled the room.
