508 Driverless

Compared with ordinary lithium batteries, graphene batteries have indeed made a big leap in performance. No wonder these technicians who are usually very calm are so excited, as if they are winning a battle.

Graphene has the most powerful electrical conductivity in the world. I won’t mention this, its energy density has increased by 4 times.

What is this concept?

An electric car with a range of 500 kilometers, with the same volume, its electrical energy storage is four times larger, and its battery life becomes 2,000 kilometers.

I almost didn't need to charge it when I went back and forth from Zhonghai to Beijing.

There is nothing to worry about on the battery side, and the team’s brothers will do it. Now, Chen Yao and Zhang Zhenhong go to the car factory to take a look.

The automobile factory is near the battery factory, covering an area of more than 3 million square meters, and is divided into three phases of construction. The first phase of the factory has been completed.

The local relevant departments attach great importance to it and obtained the right to use this industrial land at a very low price.

It is almost impossible for fuel vehicles to defeat foreign car-making giants, and countries around the world have already introduced plans for fuel vehicles to withdraw. In about 20 or 30 years, fuel vehicles will be completely replaced by electric vehicles.

This is a big era. Whether domestic cars can overtake on the curve depends on electric cars, and they attach great importance to it from top to bottom.

Chen Yao and Zhang Zhenhong walked into the factory and saw a driverless car coming towards him at first sight.

Through the glass window, you can see that it was empty inside and there was no driver. He was driving along the designated line, turning, and avoiding obstacles.

The speed was not very fast. Chen Yao walked over and stood in front of the car, and the car turned around it very intelligently.

"No, the car is smart enough." Chen Yao nodded with a smile.

The team who developed driverless cars was from the AI Automobile College of Shenzhen University. They had good technical capabilities in making driverless systems. The one who led this team was Zhong Guoqiang, a well-known domestic professor of artificial intelligence.

"Thank you for your hard work, professor." He walked towards him and Chen Yao handed him a bottle of ice spring.

On this hot day, if you don’t stay indoors and blow air conditioners and go outdoors for testing, the old scientist is really a model worker.

Zhong Guoqiang took Bingquan and unscrewed the bottle and took a sip. He looked at the car that was driving unmanned and said, "The unmanned driving system has been made, and the data in all aspects of the test are good, but there are still many problems."

Chen Yao thought for a while and asked, "Have you achieved l4?"

Self-driving cars are divided into five levels in total, from l1 to l5. Most of the unmanned cars on the market only reach l2, that is, the auxiliary level, and cannot replace humans to drive.

The better ones have achieved l3, but the l3 unmanned vehicles have not yet been mass-produced, and even if they have done so, they still require people to participate.

If you want to achieve true driverless, you must at least reach l4, and the most awesome one is l5

When you go out in the morning and lie in the car and sleep, the car will take you downstairs of the company. You are still safe. No matter how complicated the road conditions are, no one needs to drive the whole journey.

At present, no company in the world can make l5 unmanned vehicles. It is just a beautiful black technology that only stays in fantasy.

To realize unmanned driving, there are two main modules, one is the sensor and the other is the intelligent algorithm.

But sensor technology has come to an end, and there is no big breakthrough at present. Whether it is lidar, ultrasonic radar, millimeter-wave radar, or infrared, they all have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Moreover, the disadvantages are very obvious and there is no good way to solve them.

For example, when an unmanned vehicle was driving on the road, a red plastic bag suddenly blew over.

The lidar sensed that this was an obstacle and it would immediately brake urgently.

But this is obviously a plastic bag, would you please stop a bird egg?

If it is a human being, it can be judged. Isn’t it just a plastic bag? There will be no problem when you open it directly.

But sensors are so rigid that they cannot judge whether the objects in front of them are in danger like the human brain?

Even Tesla's president Musk said that if you want to remove the lidar, this thing is not effective in actual use, and it is expensive and bulky.

There are many sensor problems, so the second way is to use a camera to collect pavement scenes and then use intelligent algorithms to analyze them.

This method is relatively close to human driving, and the cost is super low, just a camera, but the problem is that there are still many problems.

In addition to being convenient, it is more important to be safe. When people make mistakes in driving, they will make mistakes when driving. It is unreliable to rely on the camera to collect scene operations to ensure driving safety.

Zhong Guoqiang took a sip of Bingquan and said, "At present, what we have achieved is only l3, and l4 is still in the theoretical stage."

Chen Yao pursed his lips and thought: "It's good to be able to achieve l3. Mass production is better than many unmanned cars on the market."

The unmanned driving system is not planned to be in one step, nor can it be in one step. The most important thing at present is to allow electric vehicles to be mass-produced and launched into the market as soon as possible.

Many electric car companies have made great noises and little rain. After many years of work, they don’t even have a mass-produced car.

The first generation of legendary electric cars mainly focus on hardware, which quickly seizes the market with powerful hardware performance.

Zhang Zhenhong said with a smile: "Professor, let me tell you good news. Our graphene batteries have made a major breakthrough and will soon be mass-produced!"

"Really?" Zhong Guoqiang's old face showed a look of joy.

The core competitiveness of electric vehicles lies in battery technology. Breakthrough in battery technology is a major victory. Even if it is just a new brand, it can get a large number of orders.

"Yes, it's done." Chen Yao told him with certainty.

"Okay, I know there is nothing you can't do." Zhong Guoqiang laughed happily.

The electric car circled around the green belt, then slowly drove back, and stopped in front of the three of them.

There is only the word "Legend" in front of the front of the car.

Zhong Guoqiang asked, "Is your car called Legendary Car?"

Chen Yao shook his head slightly: "I haven't figured out the name yet. Do you have any good suggestions?"

Zhang Zhenhong blurted out: "It's better to call it 'Chen Yao Auto'. You are the founder of the car company, just name it after you."

Isn’t there a XPeng Motor in China? It’s the name of the founder.

Chen Yao shook his head and immediately rejected: "No, change one."

I always feel that naming with my own name is more like a foreigner's operation. This naming method is actually not good for the company's brand.

Chinese culture is profound and profound, and there are so many words that can be combined, so why bother to learn from foreigners?

Zhong Guoqiang asked, "Then what name do you think is suitable?"

Chen Yao picked up a piece of chalk and wrote four big words on the front of the car.
