Chapter 62. Twenty-Three Sweetness(1/2)
The door was knocked.
Xuezhu quickly got up from the bed, and didn't even have time to wear shoes, so she ran to the door barefoot.
Holding the door handle in his hand, taking a few deep breaths, Xuezhu slowly opened the door.
Although she was mentally prepared, she was still beating the drum when she looked at Meng Yuning.
He obviously rushed over, his shirt had wrinkles blown by the wind, and his tea-brown eyes shining under the lens looked gentle and calm. Even if he looked tired, he still looked handsome and gentle.
The waiter said goodbye politely and turned away.
Xuezhu turned sideways and lets him in.
He didn't come in and asked first: "Is your friend inside?"
Xuezhu shook her head: "No, she is downstairs."
Meng Yuning then stepped in, and Xuezhu noticed that he was holding something in his hand.
"What did you buy?"
"Medicine," Meng Yuning said, "I called Zihan and said that gastric bloating after drinking may be acute gastritis, so don't drink alcohol in the future."
He found a table to put medicine, took out the boxes and prepared it according to the recommended dosage on the instructions.
Xuezhu stood behind him and watched him play.
She thought she felt uncomfortable after drinking too much alcohol, but she didn't expect she would even take medicine.
Meng Yuning just asked the hotel staff for a bottle of warm water and handed it to her with the prepared medicine.
"Eat it, if you can't swallow so many pills at once, eat them separately."
Xuezhu sat beside the bed and took the medicine honestly.
"Have you felt more comfortable after a sleep?" Meng Yuning leaned over and touched her forehead to look up the warmth. "If you are not feeling well, I'll take you to the hospital."
Xuezhu shook her head: "No need to go to the hospital, I'm much better."
The man breathed a sigh of relief and asked again: "Have you sobered up?"
Xuezhu's expression suddenly became awkward and nodded: "Un."
"Have you had supper?"
"No, I can't eat it."
"No wonder my stomach is so fragile," Meng Yuning sighed again, "There is a tea restaurant downstairs of the hotel. I'll buy you a bowl of porridge."
He withdrew his hand and was about to go out.
Xuezhu called him: "Brother."
Meng Yuning turned around: "What's wrong?"
"You come from Tongzhou all the way," Xuezhu paused, looking at the medicine and thermos bottles on the table, "I, I'll transfer the air ticket money to you."
Although he knew that he would not care about the round-trip air ticket money, Xuezhu could not compensate him for the time and energy he wasted on it, so he could only take a step back and reimburse the air ticket money.
Meng Yuning indeed refused: "No need."
Xuezhu took the phone and shook her head and said, "No, this is too troublesome to you."
It’s okay to send flowers or something, but she really can’t stand it when she comes here directly.
"Xiaozhu, don't reject my kindness."
He walked up to her and squatted down on one knee, stroked her hand on the knee, and gently patted the back of her hand, as if comforting her.
"I am chasing you. As the party being pursued, you can accept my care calmly without any burden," the man's eyes softly, "If I cause trouble to you, you can tell me directly and I will change it."
Xuezhu quickly shook her head: "I'm not bothering me."
Meng Yuning smiled, as if he was relieved: "That's good."
Everything he said was taking care of her emotions. Xue Zhu suddenly felt sore in the tip of her nose and she whispered intermittently: "I was drunk before, but I didn't expect you to come here... I thought you were joking, I don't want you to come here in vain for a few drunk words."
"Is it in vain?"
He repeated it softly.
Before Xuezhu could come back to her senses, he adjusted her sleeping hair again: "Xiaozhu, I don't think this is a waste of effort. What I did for you is nothing. I came from Tongzhou just because you said you had a stomach upset. I was very worried. You don't want to bother others, and you added-"
He stopped and did not say the second half of the sentence.
Xuezhu was curious: "What else?"
Meng Yuning's voice was gentle and he said very bluntly: "The drunken tone on your phone really made me feel so moved, so I came even though I knew it was a bit abrupt."
Xuezhu sat on the bed. Because of his words, she felt like she was thrown into a hot oil pan, and was blown up from head to toe.
He had been worried that his behavior would be abrupt, so she shook her head and wanted to comfort him: "No."
Meng Yuning raised his eyebrows slightly, lowered his voice and asked, "Then are I a little closer to the moment I chased you?"
Xuezhu bites her lips: "Some."
He laughed twice and said slowly: "It seems that I bought the most recent flight from Tongzhou. Not only did I not waste my energy, but I also added a little more points to myself. It's a pity that you have sobered up and I couldn't see you talking in that tone in person."
Xuezhu doesn't think she is worth watching in that state.
I didn't see it just so.
Meng Yuning later went downstairs to the tea restaurant and bought her a bowl of lean meat porridge.
Xue Zhu sat on the sofa, and the light hot porridge entered the mouth, instantly warming from the esophagus to the stomach.
She drank very slowly, but the porridge was finally over, and Meng Yuning seemed to have no reason to stay here.
Xuezhu suddenly asked, "Do you want to watch TV?"
Meng Yuning smiled: "Okay."
So she got up and went to get the remote control and adjusted the channel casually. It was Saturday tonight, and the TV station was playing a variety show.
She loved watching this show when she was a child. She watched it once on Saturday night and would watch it again when it was replayed at noon the next day.
But I don’t know if she has grown up or if this show is not good anymore, but Xue Zhu’s attention has not been divided by TV at all.
When she was a child, she always liked to bring Meng Yuning to watch with her. When she saw something funny, she would even urge him to shout, "Brother, you look so funny, it's so funny", hinting that he would laugh with him quickly.
The host and the guest laughed so hard that the earth shook, and Xuezhu and Meng Yuning in front of the TV remained silent.
Who would have thought they would have another chance to sit together and watch TV?
Like when I was a kid.
Xuezhu's mind was soaring. She didn't know if she had sobered up. She seemed to be sober, but her body didn't have much strength.
Her head tilted and fell on his arm.
The man beside him trembled slightly, sat down a little, held her head and let her lean firmly on his shoulder.
"Brother Ningning." She shouted softly.
Meng Yuning looked at her, and when she heard her long-lost name, she suddenly felt inexplicable, and she felt lost and regained.
He replied softly: "Yes."
"Do you really like me? Could it be that you made a mistake? In fact, you just treat me as a sister, but because we haven't seen each other for too long, you made a mistake."
Even though his statements have become very obvious these days, Xuezhu still feels unreal.
Why is it like a dream?
My brother who has been in love with him for many years, after she has decided that the story ended with regret, she has been living a good life for all these years and has not died for him. Although her youthful dream is unforgettable, she will only occasionally remember it when it is silent at night.
It’s not that I miss you all the time, but whenever someone around me expresses her good feelings, she will subconsciously think of Meng Yuning.
Subconsciously use him to measure it.
None of those people are better than him.
The throbbing he gave himself back then was so amazing that in many years, no one could give her such surprise.
In fact, whether she can meet again is not that important to her.
If not, it is also a wonderful memory.
That's what she always thought.
Until she stopped and chose to give up chasing the stars, he fell down on his own initiative.
Say I like it to her.
It really seems like I'm dreaming.
She wanted to make his pursuit longer, to make him look down, to be the one who takes the initiative, and to make up for the tears she shed for him back then.
But Meng Yuning didn't know.
She didn't want him to know either, it was embarrassing and embarrassing.
Meng Yuning was amused and crying: "Xiaozhu, I'm at this age. Will I still make mistakes in such things?"
To be continued...
