Chapter 802 Tiger Head Fortress

On August 23, 1941, when the two main forces of the West Route Army joined forces in Longjiang, a section of the East Route Army under the command of Fu Yisheng captured Hulin County.

The troops continued to pursue and fight fiercely, and on the morning of August 24, they occupied Hutou Town, west of Hutou Fortress.

After occupying Hutou Town, the strongest Hutou Fortress among the 17 Kwantung Army fortresses was exposed to the soldiers.

The troops fought from Ning'an to Hulin, and then went to capture the Sanjiang Plain. The battle line was very long.

Tiger Head Fortress has the strongest facilities and the most powerful firepower among the 17 fortresses of the Japanese army. If you want to capture such a large fortress, you cannot do it without a general's hammer.

But due to the rapid advance of the troops, General Hammer was still dozens of kilometers away!

The troops had to stop and wait for General Hammer to arrive.

While Fu Yisheng sighed helplessly, good news came from the Air Force.

The ground-penetrating bomb technology of the Academy of Military Sciences has matured, and a batch of artillery shells have been transported from Peiping to the Shuangchengzi area, which happens to be used in the Japanese army's strongest Tiger Head Fortress.

This made Fu Yisheng overjoyed. If the ground-penetrating bomb was really as powerful as the legend said, then they would be able to conquer the Hulin Fortress today and eradicate the largest and deepest cancer of imperialism in Northeast China.

While waiting for the air force to prepare, Fu Yisheng, Dong Qiwu, Sun Lanfeng and others came to Hutou Town in person.

An Chunshan is now the commander of the 6th Corps. His troops were the first to invade Hutou Town and captured a big guy.

As soon as Fu Yisheng and others entered Hutou Town, An Chunshan ran over and led them to see his capture.

It was a train gun that was about the same size as a general's hammer. There were more than a dozen corpses of Japanese soldiers beside the train gun that had not been cleared out in time.

An Chunshan stepped on the corpse of a Japanese artilleryman, touched a railway gun with his hand, and said smugly:

"The railway was blown up by the air force, and the troops attacked very quickly. The little devil's cannon was captured by us before it could even fire a single shell. Hey, deputy commander, we can turn the muzzle later.

, use the Japanese cannonballs to blow up the Japanese!"

Fu Yisheng also had a look of joy on his face. This train gun looked very powerful. He asked:

"What's the caliber? How far can it hit?"

"With a 240mm caliber, the maximum attack distance seems to be 50 kilometers!"

The caliber is much lower than the 600mm of the General Hammer, but the maximum attack range of 50 kilometers is satisfactory.

Sun Lanfeng on the side answered:

"This is what the little devil prepared to attack the Soviet position in front of the Tiger Head Fortress. The train gun has a certain degree of mobility and can cut off the logistical supplies of the Soviet troops, making it impossible for the head and tail to look at each other!

But if you use this thing to attack the Tiger Head Fortress, it may just scratch the little devil's itch and not cause any major trauma!"

Fu Yisheng nodded, pointed at the 240mm train gun and said:

"If it doesn't pose a threat to the main position, then use it to bombard the auxiliary positions of Tiger Head Fortress. After all, it is the little devil's own thing. It is necessary to let them have a taste of your own shells!

I’ll give you half an hour to prepare, and in half an hour I’m going to hear the roar of this cannon!”

"yes!"

An Chunshan agreed excitedly.

Climbing to the commanding heights of Hutou Town, Fu Yisheng looked at Hutou Fortress from the Japanese bunker.

The construction of Hutou Fortress was completed in 1939, and various fortifications are hidden in the dense jungle!

Outside, you can only see winding roads and some looming gun towers, but no reinforced concrete fortifications or various firepower points of the Japanese army.

In addition to being blocked by green trees, another reason is that Fu Yisheng is on the backside of Tiger Head Fortress at this moment.

The front width of the Tiger Head Fortress exceeds 12 kilometers and the depth is 6 kilometers. All the hills and mountains in the field of vision were hollowed out by the Japanese.

The entire fortress is centered on Menghu Mountain, with Hubei Mountain and Hudong Mountain directly in front. They form a pincer shape to protect the central position.

To the east of Menghu Mountain are Xihu Mountain and Huxiao Mountain, which belong to the second line of defense of Hutou Fortress.

Because the 6th Corps attacked from behind, Xihu Mountain and Huxiao Mountain became the front line at this moment.

The central position of Menghu Mountain is divided into Middle Menghu Mountain, West Menghu Mountain and East Menghu Mountain. Middle Menghu Mountain is the command center of the Japanese army, and the various positions are connected by underground tunnels.

The length of the entire Hutou Fortress underground passage exceeds 20 kilometers, which can be said to be extending in all directions, connecting various living and military facilities.

The main purpose of the Japanese army in building Tiger Head Fortress was to facilitate attacks on the Soviet positions across the Ussuri River when the war against the Soviet Union came.

Therefore, the firepower points are basically arranged on the east side.

The Japanese racked their brains and could not imagine that one day the enemy would appear in their rear areas and hit them from behind.

The fortress contains two 410mm coastal defense guns brought from Tokyo Bay, two 300mm large-caliber howitzers, four 240mm howitzers, and a regiment of 150mm cannons.

All these large-caliber and powerful artillery fires were deployed to the east.

If you want to move these big guys from the east to the west, you can't do it through underground passages. You have to go above ground, and it will take at least 5 days.

The Air Force fighter planes of the 6th Corps have been hovering over the Tiger Head Fortress for reconnaissance. Once a target is discovered, the reconnaissance aircraft will immediately report to the rear artillery positions.

The Japanese Fifth Army did not have the time or ability to move these large-caliber artillery pieces of hundreds of millimeters.

Thanks to this, Fu Yisheng was able to successfully capture Hulin County and enter Hutou Town.

If you attack from the front, even with the cooperation of the air force, heavy casualties to the troops are inevitable.

Fu Yisheng put down the telescope and lamented the madness of the Japanese.

These huge projects are testimony to Japan's aggressive ambitions, and they have been preparing for this for several years.

"In order to build the Tiger Head Fortress, the bones of at least 30,000 Chinese laborers and Northeastern Army prisoners were buried here. Every brick and wall of his grandmother's Tiger Head Fortress is filled with the blood and tears of us Chinese!" Sun Lanfeng said with red eyes.

.

Fu Yisheng nodded and was speechless. Without Jiangdong, the Sixth Corps would not be so powerful, and he himself would not have the opportunity to come here to personally avenge the thousands of compatriots who suffered.

"Let Tiger Head Fortress become the tomb of Japanese invaders!"

Fu Yisheng punched the sandbag and asked:

"Are the troops ready? Our goal is to bury all the Japs underground so that they will never see the light of day!"

Sun Lanfeng replied:

"The attack force is already in place and the required gasoline is ready. We're just waiting for news from the Air Force!"

Fu Yisheng took one last look at the rolling hills, walked down from the commanding heights of Hutou Town, and headed to his headquarters.

Zhongmenghu Mountain, Japanese Fifth Army Headquarters.

Lieutenant General Juichi Hatada took the initiative and got blood on his face before. The entire cavalry brigade was wiped out, and several field heavy artillery regiments equipped with 150mm howitzers were also lost.

The firepower of the Chinese army was so fierce that he had no choice but to order the troops to abandon the road and enter the mountains and forests, using the cover of the terrain and night to attack.

However, this method of combat did not achieve the desired results because the Chinese fighter jets hovering in the sky could always find them.

Germany shared some of the advanced radio communication technology it obtained from Koto, but the Japanese Army's military expenditure was small and it was very difficult to replace it with advanced wireless communication equipment.

Lieutenant General Namada Juichi experienced the feeling of being crushed in all directions.

After sacrificing more than 20,000 imperial warriors, the Lieutenant General had to retreat to the fortress.

After returning to the fortress, the Lieutenant General and other Japanese quickly discovered a cruel fact:

The Chinese are attacking from the rear, and the heavy firepower of the fortress is just a decoration now!

Although the soldiers have been busy moving various artillery and light and heavy machine guns since they returned to the fortress, the effect is not good, and the firepower on the west is less than half of the front.

At this time, the Chinese captured Hutou Town, and their guns were already aimed at Hutou Fortress.

"Your Majesty Lieutenant General, the scouts reported that they did not find any Chinese 600mm cannons. All that appeared behind the fortress were conventional artillery!"

Chief of Staff Major General Tasaka Tanichi comforted Namada Shigechi:

“Without giant artillery, it would be impossible for the Chinese to break into the fortress. As long as we hold on for four or five days, reinforcements from the base camp will arrive!

When the time comes, we will be attacked from both inside and outside..."

Shigeichi Namada raised his hand to interrupt the chief of staff, and said with some despair and helplessness:

“The three fortresses on the Suifenhe side were destroyed by the Chinese air force!

We have no air force anymore..."

"Ding ding ding..."

A rapid ringing of the phone relieved the awkward and dull atmosphere in the headquarters. The person on the other end of the phone said to the chief of staff:

"Chinese troops appeared behind Huxi Mountain and Huxiao Mountain..."

After putting down the phone, Tasaka said:

"Your Excellency, Lieutenant General, the Chinese are ready and may launch an attack at any time, please give the order!"

Namada Juichi stood up with support on the table. The despair and helplessness in his eyes had completely disappeared, replaced by determination and madness. He said every word:

"Order the warriors to immediately enter combat positions, resist resolutely, and not let a single Chinese go!"
