Chapter 1104 Selling an aircraft carrier?

On July 11, Jiangdong met Wang Laohu, commander-in-chief of the 7th Corps, who returned to the General Staff Headquarters to report on his duties, and General Stilwell who came with him in Peiping.

After the outbreak of the Pacific War, the World Anti-Fascist Alliance was established, and General Stilwell served as the Allied Chief of Staff for the China Theater.

He participated in the First Southern Expedition and the Second Southern Expedition with the Chinese Expeditionary Army and completed his liaison and dispatch tasks.

It can be said that he personally watched the Chinese army grow from weak to strong, and watched the country grow from wailing all over the country to full of vitality.

During this process, General Stilwell tried his best to protect the interests of the United States, but because China was developing so fast, there was not much he could protect.

This is not General Stilwell's fault. On the contrary, his contribution in it is obvious to all.

General Stilwell was promoted to four-star general in the Army in early July 1943, which represented the recognition of his work by the United States.

"Congratulations, Mr. Admiral."

When he saw Stilwell, an old man who was kind on the outside but harsh on the inside, Jiang Dong took the initiative to greet him with a smile on his face.

General Stilwell also smiled, but there was a hint of bitterness in his sincere smile.

"Jiang, from the first day I met you, you have never stopped surprising me."

General Stilwell followed Jiang Dong to the reception room, and he said with some emotion:

"On the Eastern battlefield and the European battlefield, you have created miracles one after another."

"It is no exaggeration to say that you are the most dazzling general in this war."

"Your light is so bright that it completely covers up mediocre people like us!"

Jiangdong's face turned slightly red after being so praised by the famous General Stilwell.

He waved his hand and said:

"General Stilwell was joking. I didn't fight the war alone. I can't take all the credit."

He quickly changed the subject, fearing that he might not be able to bear General Stilwell's rainbow fart.

"Promoted to a four-star general and served as the general liaison officer in China. We will have a lot of time together in the future. I hope you can continue to stay in China happily."

In the original history, General Stilwell was the commander of the U.S. Tenth Army during the Battle of Okinawa and commanded that bloody battle.

He died of stomach cancer a year later.

Today, Stilwell has left the battlefield and has become the most direct liaison between Jiangdong and the United States Army.

General Stilwell first told Jiang Dong some interesting things that happened when he got along with General Wang Laohu. Jiang Dong sometimes frowned and sometimes laughed.

After finishing a cup of tea, the topic gradually turned to work-related content.

Stilwell was most concerned about two issues.

The first is China's advanced science and technology, especially the new fighter jets, large bombers, and transport aircraft that have appeared on the Eastern Front battlefield.

The second is why China has been reluctant to land in Japan.

General Stilwell was already accustomed to the Chinese people's conversational thinking. He did not ask these two questions directly, but asked in a roundabout way:

"Jiang, I heard that the Third Reich used missiles on the Eastern Front battlefield. I want to know how their missiles are better than your Dongfeng series?"

Regarding these questions, Jiang Dong's answers in the past were always ambiguous, making it unclear whether he was bluffing or telling the truth.

Jiang Dong was not sure of Stilwell's intentions, so he answered somewhat cautiously:

"The Third Reich has a very rich accumulation of missile technology, which is not much weaker than that of China."

General Stilwell stared,

"What a surprise."

"I also heard that you have developed a new fighter jet. Is this true?"

This is the most critical issue.

The intelligence personnel of the United States collected a large amount of information about China's new fighter aircraft from the Eastern Front battlefield, but this information only gave a rough outline, without any mention of specific parameters and performance.

The F86 Saber fighter jet carried by the USS Lincoln super aircraft carrier is already the most advanced fighter jet in the United States. Although the second-generation fighter jet is already under development, there is still a long way to go before it can succeed.

Jiang Dong narrowed his eyes and said calmly:

"Those are just some experimental models, and the relevant technology is not yet mature."

"By the way, the performance of the J-2 and J-3 fighters has been tested on the battlefield and is very trustworthy."

"I wonder if your army is interested in purchasing some. We can give you a 20% discount, a friendly price."

Jiang Dong quickly put on the face of a profiteer, causing General Stilwell's next words to get stuck in his throat.

General Stilwell held his breath in his chest, opened his mouth but didn't know what to say, and his face turned a little red.

Jiang Dong then said:

"Don't you know that your country has reached a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with Mao Xiong?"

"Mao Xiong exchanged mineral resources for my country's new equipment, with J-2 and J-3 being the main force."

"Perhaps by next month you will be able to see that the trains returning to Peking on the Sino-Soviet Railway Artery are filled with all kinds of ores."

General Stilwell blinked, feeling that the topic seemed to have gone astray, but what Jiang Dong said seemed to be important information, so he had no choice but to listen patiently.

When it comes to the arms trade, Jiang Dong seems to have a lot to say. He continues:

"Beiping is liaising with the Commonwealth countries through the Rockefeller family to add fighter planes, warships, tanks and other heavy equipment to the original arms transactions."

"General Stilwell, you know that the weapons and equipment produced in Peiping have withstood the test of war, and the quality is excellent."

"As long as the buyer is sincere, the super aircraft carrier is not impossible to sell."

After Jiang Dong finished speaking, he picked up his tea cup and drank tea, leaving General Stilwell alone and messy.

From what Jiangdong said, it seemed that he planned to become the world's number one arms dealer.

You know, before the rise of China, the Commonwealth countries purchased weapons and equipment from the United States.

And now Jiangdong even dares to sell aircraft carriers. In the long run, China will eat up all the arms trade share belonging to the United States.

What's annoying is that their products are of good quality and low price, giving them an absolute market advantage.

General Stilwell felt that he had discovered a huge threat in advance and already had a formal report in his mind.

What Jiang Dong said was false and true.

Indeed, China can buy aircraft, tanks, missiles, warships, and aircraft carriers.

But once someone purchases these things, they must accept the maintenance package.

And this so-called maintenance package will continuously deliver benefits to Chinese military enterprises.

Speaking of super aircraft carriers, such a super powerful maritime combat platform is not something that just any country can afford. If it is not careful, it may even bring down the country's finances.

In short, Jiangdong is fishing for Jiang Taigong, and those who wish to take the bait will take the bait.
