Chapter 1036 Competition of National Power

"Damn little Japan!"

At 10 o'clock in the evening on June 5, the underground space of Wolfsburg in Poland was brightly lit, and the roar of the mustache echoed for a long time. People walking would glance at the room from time to time.

In the room, Air Marshal Göring, Navy Marshal Dönitz, Head of the Chancellery Bormann, SS Leader Himmler, Chief of Staff Keitel and others lowered their heads, listening to the Führer's roar.

After the full-scale Soviet-German war broke out, the Third Reich made rapid progress and achieved unprecedented achievements.

The head of state rarely loses his temper, and most of the time he discusses strategy and tactics with the generals in a serious manner.

But Himmler and other people close to him knew very well that the Führer's temper had always been bad.

The last time the head of state was so angry was when he failed in the North African battlefield.

The hysterical roaring continued, and Himmler's people couldn't get a word in, so they could only let the Führer vent his anger.

Each unit of Army Group South has forwarded today's battle report in the form of a paper report.

Mustache took the report written by Kleist and looked at the advanced Chinese tanks, jet fighters and armed helicopters listed above. His emotions were once again ignited, and he danced and roared.

"Kleister, this loser, can only talk about how awesome you are, but can't find the reason why you command yourself?"

"Removed on the spot, the remaining tanks of the First Army were placed under the command of the Army Group South headquarters."

"Pa bang bang..."

He rolled up the documents and banged the table hard.

"Huhuhu..."

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Mustache glared and shouted:

"Take Kleist directly back to Berlin and face trial by a military court. Such a waste is not worthy of being a general of the empire!"

Chief of Staff Keitel murmured a few times, but in the end did not dare to say anything.

After scolding the entire commander of Army Group South, Mustache's thoughts returned to the beginning.

"Damn little Japan!"

Like many generals on the front line, they all held the Japanese partly or primarily responsible for the failure on the first day.

During the period when the Nationalist Government was in power, China's most elite military was trained by instructors from the Third Reich.

The Third Reich knew the strength of the Chinese army thoroughly.

However, Jiangdong rose up and embarked on a new development path. The Third Reich was busy fighting on the Eastern and Western Fronts and neglected to collect intelligence on the Eastern battlefield.

As a result, they do not know the strength, combat style, usual techniques and tactics of this brand new Chinese army.

After the brand-new Chinese army began a large-scale expedition, the Third Reich consciously collected intelligence about the army, but it was obviously too late.

Know yourself and your enemy and you can fight a hundred battles without danger. This is a saying believed by generals all over the world.

If you can't collect it yourself, you can only rely on your allies.

While supporting the Japanese radar technology and jet fighter technology, the Third Reich also obtained information about China's new army from Japan.

It’s eloquent, hundreds of pages!

Intelligence affects strategy and tactics, and sometimes can even play a decisive role.

After reading the intelligence provided by the Japanese, the Third Reich High Command formulated a plan to deal with the enemy's joint counterattack.

But facts proved that they still underestimated China's military power too much.

Mustache thinks Japan has missed him.

In fact, this cannot be entirely blamed on Japan. After all, in China's anti-aggression war, the Japanese army was often wiped out as a front army.

Those who accurately grasped China's intelligence basically died in the war.

Those who managed to escape with their lives provided either ambiguous or inconsistent information.

After more than 10 minutes, Mustache seemed to be tired and stopped venting.

While others were reading the report, Chief of Staff Keitel took the initiative to introduce:

"The enemy's Operation Uranus offensive is fierce, but we are obviously not fully prepared."

"In the North Caucasus, more than 800,000 people commanded by Bolshevik Malinovsky and others are attacking Grozny and other places. The 17th Army is under tremendous pressure, and the Army Commander General Stipnagel requested a retreat!"

"Pa bang bang..."

The mustache slapped the table hard:

"No retreat allowed!"

Keitel and Goering looked at each other and said worriedly:

"Führer, the enemy is attacking from multiple directions, and the Chinese troops are pointing directly at Stalingrad!"

"The strategic location of Stalingrad is extremely critical, but we only have General Paulus's 6th Army. They have no air support, and there are major problems with logistics."

Keitel's implication was that Stalingrad might not be able to hold.

Stalingrad is the core of the entire defense line. Once this place is lost, the "7" defense line of the Third Reich's Southern Army Group will collapse.

By then, not only the 6th Army, but also the entire Army Group South would be in danger of being annihilated.

From the current point of view, the North Caucasus region cannot be defended, so why not retreat as soon as possible to preserve our strength.

The head of state smoothed the hair on his forehead and said very stubbornly:

"The oil fields and minerals in the North Caucasus are vital to us and we are not allowed to retreat!"

This is an economic account and the purpose of war.

The mustachioed finger poked at the map:

"Army Group Center and Army Group North must fight back to share the pressure of Army Group South!"

"The Bolsheviks' industry has been destroyed by us, and such a large-scale operation cannot last too long!"

"China and the United States have their own agendas and will not fully support them!"

"What is competing now is national strength and industrial production capacity. We must not retreat!"

Some people are thoughtful, while others still have worried faces.

But the will of the head of state must be 100% implemented.

In the ensuing discussion, Mustache decided not to let Guderian's Second Armored Army put out the fire.

He decided to let the Armored Army cooperate with other infantry units to continue attacking eastward, with the target being the upper reaches of the Don River and the back of Mao Xiong's Don River Army.

This move seems to have the intention of surrounding Wei and rescuing Zhao.

Regarding the loss of battlefield air superiority, Air Marshal Göring expressed his shame and helplessness.

The jet fighters of the Third Reich cannot compete with the Chinese jet fighters. Entering the battlefield will only kill the opponent in vain. It is better to stay on the Western Front and continue to block the English Channel.

Some people have proposed secretly transporting missiles to the eastern front to attack enemy airports, air force bases, etc. from a distance.

But this proposal was vetoed by Mustache, who was very worried that the Chinese would take the same countermeasures.

At that time, the missile is likely to fall directly into Berlin, and the gain will outweigh the loss.

Tanks need to continue to be upgraded, but what can be done now is to provide frontline troops with as many anti-tank weapons as possible, such as Panzerfaust rocket launchers.

Military industrial enterprises must increase horsepower production. The Eastern Front battlefield is a competition of national strength, and the Third Reich must not lose.
