Chapter 285: Calm down the incident

This storm did not affect Gan Guoyang on November 5 with the Trail Blazers to Houston, Texas to participate in the game against the Rockets.

Gan Guoyang's return to the team made everyone in the Trail Blazers breathe a sigh of relief. Drexler's first sentence when he saw Gan Guoyang was, "You are finally back, we fucking thought you were a spy sent by China."

Of course, Gan Guoyang was not a spy, but his overnight stay at the police station still affected his condition. After all, he stayed there for 18 hours, and he couldn't eat well or sleep well, and he also missed the team's daily training.

What he has to face in this game is the Rockets' double towers that have further matured - Olajuwon and Sampson.

The prototype of the double tower was first revealed last season, and a double tower storm was set off in the regular season, but they failed to fully release their talents in the more cruel playoffs and fell at the feet of the Jazz's double towers.

Olajuwon also slept with his strongest opponent Gan Guoyang in Houston. After a summer, Olajuwon added nearly 10 pounds, while his flexibility and speed increased instead of decreasing.

However, in the few games at the beginning of the season, Olajuwon's performance was not very stable, with great ups and downs, and he seemed to have not fully adjusted his form.

This game against the Trail Blazers was the long-awaited battle of Olajuwon, who had already sharpened his sword.

Another giant of the Rockets, Taralph Sampson, is in a stable state, averaging 24.2 points and 17.4 rebounds per game in five games.

As the two continue to work together, this super combination of inside players will cause huge waves in the NBA this season.

Even a "two tower killer" like Gan Guoyang was a little upset before the game, especially not practicing with his teammates, which made him worry about his condition.

For a top insider, when he starts to hesitate and shake, he will be at a disadvantage in the fight between the insider who must fight and cannot give up his own territory.

Gan Guoyang was at a disadvantage from the beginning.

The first time he was unable to concentrate on a game, the first time he was interfered with by off-court factors, and the first time he was unable to perform his full strength. It was also the first time that he left the game with six fouls in the NBA.

When the fourth quarter ended in the eighth minute, the Trail Blazers trailed the Rockets by 11 points with 101:112. When there was little chance left, Gan Guoyang knocked down Olajuwon in the offense and was called for an offensive foul. His sixth foul in this game, and he had just been replaced. He had sat on the bench for most of the quarter because of five fouls too early.

The fans of the Peak Arena were in a boiling state. For these Texas fans, Gan Guoyang's sent-off may have been more excited than Olajuwon's successful dunk. They still remember the scene of Gan Guoyang raging the inside in the Peak Arena last season, and the Texas people were the most revenge.

"I just used my elbow to push him away, a normal action! Don't you understand, I didn't use any force at all! How could I push him down with one move? He was a fake fall!" Gan Guoyang repeatedly demonstrated his elbow lifting action just now, indicating that he was just a normal position, while complaining to the referee.

But all this is futile. As long as the referee's foul judgment is made, it cannot be changed. The referee on duty Grestone ignored Gan Guoyang's explanation and pointed outside the field, indicating that Gan Guoyang should leave quickly.

"Fuck..." Gan Guoyang could only shake his head and leave the field. His data for this game was frozen at 18 points and 10 rebounds, which was quite good.

But Olajuwon, who was facing him, had already scored 38 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks at this time. In tonight's one-on-one duel, Gan Guoyang was completely suppressed by Olajuwon.

Gan Guoyang sat on the bench and threw off the towel on his hand in annoyance. He was extremely dissatisfied with his performance, especially on the defensive end. He was in an average state. In addition, he encountered Olajuwon who was outbreaking, and was beaten by Olajuwon in one-on-one offense and defense.

Especially in terms of protecting the backcourt rebounds, Olajuwon snatched 11 frontcourt rebounds in this game, completely unable to protect the Trail Blazers' penalty area, causing the Trail Blazers to suffer the Rockets' second offense many times.

When the buzzer sounded at the end of the game, the score between the two sides was frozen at 116:127. The Rockets easily defeated the Portland Trail Blazers at home, ending the Trail Blazers' five consecutive victories, and breaking the Trail Blazers' unbeaten golden body since the beginning of the season.

As of today's game, the only teams in the league that remain unbeaten are the Denver Nuggets. They have maintained a complete victory in the first five games, but such days should not be long.

After the game, Gan Guoyang left the arena without saying hello to anyone. Although he should have congratulated Olajuwon, his poor performance made Gan Guoyang unwilling to be a foiler.

Olajuwon shone in this game, scoring a game-high 41 points and 18 rebounds, which is undoubtedly the best in the game.

"Akim, what do you think of your performance in this game and Gan's performance against you?" Olajuwon was asked in the sideline interview after the game.

"Well, I was full of aggressiveness tonight. I was in a state of 120%. I felt great. Gan's condition didn't seem to be that good. I heard that he was in some trouble, but the game was the game, and I still won. I was very happy and wish him good luck." Olajuwon answered the reporter's questions like this.

Gan Guoyang was indeed in some trouble. When he returned to the locker room and took a shower, he sat in the interview room in a neatly dressed and was interviewed by a reporter, he knew that his trouble was coming.

Almost few reporters were concerned about the competition itself, but were asking about Gan Guoyang being taken to the police station yesterday.

Gan Guoyang's answer was also very simple, "I'm fine, it's just a misunderstanding. I promise that I have nothing to do with any criminal acts, and I'm clean."

Such an answer naturally could not satisfy the reporters' curiosity, but Gan Guoyang's patience was limited, and the staff of the Trail Blazer quickly terminated the interview to prevent Gan Guoyang from being harassed again. His mood was already bad enough.

The Trail Blazers' trip to Texas is not over. After visiting Houston, they are heading to Dallas to meet the Mavericks, the playoff rival last season.

The Mavericks did not do much in the offseason. They still built the team with Aquili and Blackman as the core of the backcourt, while the inside hopes for Sam Perkins' growth.

At this year's draft, the Mavericks chose a player from Germany, a tall small forward who graduated from the University of Washington, Ditlef Schramf, which to some extent enhanced the Mavericks' frontcourt strength.

But Schramf is just a rookie after all, and the changes he can bring are limited.

But the Mavericks' strength cannot be underestimated. The playoff match between the two teams last season also made this game a "revenge battle" for the Mavericks.

Gan Guoyang, who had breathed a sigh of relief in the last game, vented all his anger on the Mavericks. Whether the opponent takes revenge or not does not have to do with him.

Gan Guoyang started to fire from the first quarter and seized all singles opportunities to attack the Mavericks' inside. The Mavericks' center Cote Nimfius and rookie Bill Wennington took turns to play. Unfortunately, the two white insiders were either too short and had no strength or too young and inexperienced.

In front of the angry Gan Guoyang, the Mavericks' inside line was torn apart. Gan Guoyang scored 45 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks in a single game, which was enough to show that he focused his main energy on the offense.

The Trail Blazers also defeated the Dallas Mavericks away with a 129:110 and 19 points, completely ruining the Mavericks' so-called battle of revenge.

Gan Guoyang's scoring show also prompted the Mavericks to exchange 7-foot-2 big center James Donaldson from the Los Angeles Clippers in a subsequent trade, trying to curb Gan Guoyang's rampage in the inside.

Winning this game made Gan Guoyang feel refreshed instantly, but the post-match interview still gave him a headache because the reporters asked the questions exactly the same as the day before yesterday, just staring at Gan Guoyang being taken back to the police station for interrogation.

Gan Guoyang followed Qian Hui's guidance and did not disclose any information in the public interview. He just said that he was misunderstood and had nothing to do with the criminal act.

The best way to solve this incident is of course the police or the FBI to clarify it, but the police and the FBI are still investigating many issues regarding the Jiangnan case. Gan Guoyang has to rely on himself to obtain innocence.

Fortunately, there are only two away games in Texas, so they no longer have to go to San Antonio to find trouble with the Spurs. The Trail Blazers can go back to Portland after playing the Mavericks.

Gan Guoyang's top priority is to find a reliable media and reporter, conduct an exclusive interview, clarify the matter, completely solve the matter, and concentrate on the competition.

But when he thought of this, Gan Guoyang was worried again because he found that even in Portland, no media had a relatively close relationship with him. With Gan Guoyang's style of acting, it was better to have fewer evil media.

So Gan Guo didn't know which media to choose to conduct an exclusive interview. When he returned to Portland, the phone calls of various media were about to explode his landlines, and the inbox at the door was filled with newspaper business cards.

"Oh my God, what should I do with so many media?" Gan Guoyang collected all the business cards, including reporters from well-known American media, such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Sports Illustrated, etc.

But these newspapers are not within the scope of Gan Guoyang's choice. He hopes that the smaller the matter, the better, rather than being hyped by these big media to make it known to the whole United States.

"Choose slowly, to be honest, I think your cousin is right. You should really manage your media relationships. Public figures need a good image." Bellman said while sitting aside doing his data sorting work.

"...I'll take a look. This guy is interesting, maybe it's a good choice." And Gan Guoyang seemed to have chosen the right person.
