Chapter 4 Runes and Merlin

For the next period of time, Brian devoted himself to learning alchemy.

After a period of research, Brian found that the runes recorded in the refining method of the time converter are different from all known runes, and are even very different.

He searched through all the alchemy books in his home, but found no records of such runes.

Today's alchemy runes basically originate from ancient Runi and several other ancient magic scripts, but the time converter runes are obviously fundamentally different from them, and it is impossible to be any variant.

After glanced at the [Language Runes] on the system, Brian was thinking about whether these runes were some kind of rare and lost ancient magic text.

Fortunately, the parchment paper has the function of marking the arrangement of runes, which makes him unable to understand the meaning of the runes, but he can draw them directly according to them.

Brian intercepted a part of the runes that serve as isolation and shielding. This part is used to save and block time magic, so as to ensure that extremely unstable time magic can be retained on the time converter for a long time.

This rune was unexpectedly difficult, but fortunately it did not require high materials. Brian had piled up waste materials, so he barely drew them in a silver box.

Brian tried the effect and it was unexpectedly good. It can block all magic fluctuations in the box and play a good role in protecting the items inside.

"This kind of runes..." Brian frowned and looked at the runes, "Since it is so powerful, why hasn't it been passed down?"

"That's right, the ancient wizard family has always treasured their own treasures. Now, many precious inheritances have been lost."

Brian sighed and continued to test the rune's performance.

After putting the invisible cloak in the test, he found that the magic power in the invisible cloak was no longer lost, which was simply impossible. This shows that this kind of rune can be used to make the invisible cloak that will maintain the effect forever!

Brian pursed his lips, and he thought of Harry's invisible clothes, one of the Deathly Hallows.

"Is this kind of rune... related to the Deathly Hallows?" He held his chin with one hand and raised the corners of his mouth slightly, "It seems that things are getting more and more interesting."

Since Slytherin has been studying the secret of "death", he should not ignore the Death Hallows.

"But the premise is to make a time converter." Brian shook his head.

He looked at the box he made and put the Slytherin's locket in. It unexpectedly blocked the influence of the Horcrux, and the evil thought that had been teasing him could not be revealed at all.

He locked the locket in the box and put it in his bag.

Brian looked at the stacks of alchemy books he had piled aside and shook his head slightly. He could no longer stand these foggy books.

The alchemy books collected in the study, together with the alchemy textbooks sold in the bookstore, are all scattered and not systematic.

Because there are few wizards who specialize in alchemy, they cherish their own brides, and the level of creators of books is different, and some vague statements make Brian feel uncomfortable to learn by himself.

He had to devote a lot of energy to finding information, racking his brains to understand the strange nouns and vague expressions, which seriously slowed down his learning speed. He had to regret that there was no computer in the wizarding world that allowed him to search for information.

He was wondering if he should find a teacher or something.

When Brian was once again stuck by a noun that seemed to be fabricated out of thin air by the author of the book, he rubbed his eyebrows, closed the book in his hand with a "pop", and placed it in a corner of the desk.

He temporarily put aside his low-efficiency alchemy study, walked around the study, and began to search for Merlin's information. He was very curious about Merlin's affairs.

He first read the magic history textbook written by Bashida Basharth and found the life of Merlin recorded in the book. He is the most famous wizard, alchemist, prophet and spell expert in history.

Merlin became active in the 6th century AD. His most famous event was to help King Arthur rule England as a mentor and consultant. He began to retire after King Arthur's death.

He founded the Order of Merlin in the mid-11th century with the goal of helping non-wizards and was very famous at the time. When the wizards were persecuted by Muggles in the late 13th century, Merlin was also deeply harmed, and the Order of Merlin was once on the verge of disbanding.

With the establishment of the Ministry of Magic, he participated in the revision of the Witcher Secretariat Act.

Legend has it that in the late 18th century, Merlin died in the goblin rebellion to protect wizards and non-wizards.

This is a discussion in the history of magic. Bashida believes that the legend of King Arthur is true, and Hogwarts was founded at the end of the 10th century AD, so she does not agree with the rumors that Merlin had studied in Hogwarts.

In the legend of the wizarding world, there are many different opinions about Merlin's life.

First of all, the legend of King Arthur, Merlin was first famous. Some wizards insisted that the time point was right, while others believed that it was after the 11th century. It was the magic of wizards that caused chaos in the time of this legend. But there is no doubt that people generally believe that this did happen in the 6th century AD and supported by evidence.

The experience of founding the Order of Merlin and subsequently was recognized by the wizarding community.

Finally, many people think that Merlin's death did not die, but he just stopped participating in the world, but this statement is not something that can be verified by historical facts.

Brian searched for many historical books and found that ancient wizards had a lot of controversy over whether Merlin graduated from Slytherin. Some wizards believed that it was indeed facts and came up with corresponding evidence, but some wizards believed that this was purely nonsense.

This controversy extends to the modern era. Obviously, all the wizards who graduated from Slytherin are willing to believe that Merlin studied at Slytherin College and are proud of it. However, many people in other colleges are unwilling to admit it and use the discourse in the magic history textbook as theoretical support.

While looking up ancient books, Brian also discovered an interesting point.

He found Merlin's name and deeds in several ancient history books and magic books published before the founding of Hogwarts. But what is interesting is that these books have a variety of different backgrounds and growth experiences, which is very outrageous.

Those who believed Merlin had studied at Hogwarts used this as a basis for refutation, believing that the deeds in the book were supplemented by future generations. But Brian combined the news in Slytherin's portrait and believed that Merlin did live in that era.

However, in history books after the 11th century, Merlin's background was unified, but his growth experience was polarized.

The most interesting thing is that in the history books that record Merlin's growth process has been recorded in more detail in those records of Merlin's growth, and even the awards he won at Hogwarts and the societies he participated in.

The author of the book visited Meilin's professors and students of the same period in the school and found that they had an impression of Meilin, but it was very vague. It seemed that Meilin was an ordinary student who was not very noticeable in school.

But the parts they can recall are surprisingly similar. For example, Merlin has won the school's special contribution award twice, served as the head of Slytherin and the president of the student union, and participated in many competitions on behalf of the school and won the first place. The problem is here, such a student cannot be unknown and make them blurred.

However, in history books that do not agree with Merlin's study at Hogwarts, she is vague about Merlin's growth process.

But most importantly, Merlin himself was asked, and his attitude towards this matter was always silent.

No acknowledgement, no objection.

"Did Merlin enter Hogwarts for some purpose?" Brian struggled to stuff a large history book back into the bookshelf and pondered. This seemed to be the most reasonable guess.

"Then what is he for?" Brian frowned.

"Or it was the history books that were compiled," he turned to think, "but these books were well-founded, and all the details were consistent, not like they were made up... and Merlin did not object."

"Or did Merlin use a confusion spell on some people?" He thought randomly, sorting out piles of books piled up on the ground and putting them back in place one by one.

"Then, you can try to check the list of Hogwarts students later, which should be kept in the Hogwarts library."
