Chapter 37 Planting Grapes

"Grapes are made of Plum Peach in Han Dynasty. They can be eaten with glutinous peaches. If you drink them, you will be drunk with them. Therefore, this is the name. The round one is called grass dragon ball, the elder one is called horse milk grape, the white one is called crystal grape, and the black one is called purple grape. The Han Dynasty said that Zhang Qian was sent to the Western Regions to return and found this kind of grape. However, there were grapes in "Shennong Bencao Jing", but it was originally there in Longxi before the Han Dynasty, but it was not entered into Guan Er."

The above passage comes from the annotation of grapes in the pharmaceutical masterpiece "Compendium of Materia Medica" compiled by Li Shizhen, a pharmacist in the Ming Dynasty.

In this annotation, the source, shape, color and use of grapes have been basically explained very clearly, indicating that grapes have been well-known hundreds or thousands of years ago.

To this day, grapes have basically spread all over the country. Many families plant one or two vines in front of and behind houses, which can not only green and beautify the environment, but also increase harvest in summer and autumn.

However, as a wine-making grape, it has not been planted in my country for a long time, and it has only been spread from Europe to China since modern times.

Currently, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Snake Dragon and other excellent varieties introduced and planted in the Bohai Bay Area, Huaizhuo Basin, Yinchuan Area and other production areas in China are mostly improved based on the imported varieties in Europe.

This time, the grape grafted seedlings brought to Cen Jiahua were mainly a grape variety unique to Maitreya - Rose Honey, and a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

According to legend, rose honey was brought by a missionary from France in the 19th century. He built a church in Maitreya and left behind rose honey vines that are difficult to find in France today.

Now, Maitreya has become the most distinctive emerging wine producing area in my country. It is a special production area with the lowest latitude (25° north latitude), the highest altitude (1500m), the most diverse climate, the red soil, the highest acidity, the darkest red grape color, and the most European and American hybrid wine-making grapes (rose honey).

In the northern mountainous areas of Tianzhou County, the external environment such as latitude, climate, soil, and sunshine are surprisingly similar to Maitreya, but no one has ever grown wine grapes in Tianzhou County.

The reason for this is that there is no cultivation tradition, and the other is that the altitude here is about 1,000 meters lower than that of Maitreya, and the temperature difference between day and night is not large. It is considered not the best growth environment for wine grapes. In addition, the precipitation here is too abundant, which is not suitable for increasing the sugar content of grapes.

Therefore, near Tianzhou County, most of the people plant edible grapes such as Jufeng.

This time, Cen Jiahua insisted on planting wine grapes. Yang Daxiong was very dissatisfied, but he could not resist Cen Jiahua's temperament, so he had to help him find grafted seedlings.

Generally, large-scale grape planting uses grafting methods in asexual reproduction, and the grafting method is generally wild grapes with strong disease resistance and developed root system, and then grafting branches of those varieties of high-quality quality. This method can not only completely maintain the characteristics of the mother, but also keep the seedlings slow and grow fast during transplanting. It can be planted in the first year and harvested in the second year.

The workers who came to send grafted seedlings with Yang Nobita all have rich experience. Without Yang Nobita and Cen Jiahua's greeting, they took the initiative to guide the villagers who came to help the workers how to transplant the grafted seedlings sent.

Cen Jiahua, the terraced fields on the top of the mountain, has been changed into ditches suitable for transplanting seedlings according to Yang Nobita's phone requirements, and a thin layer of organic fertilizer is sprinkled on it. Now it is enough to transplant it according to the requirements. (In reality, grape transplantation is done half a month after autumn leaves fall. In order to match the plot, the book will be advanced until the end of July. Please do not be serious!)

Grape planting is just the beginning, and the most important thing is daily management. If daily management cannot keep up, it is impossible to think that the grapes can have a good harvest.

Cen Jiahua can only manage this vineyard alone for the time being, because he could not hire villagers who had experience in managing vineyards nearby, so he had to go into battle in person for the next day.

In order to manage the vineyards easily, Cen Jiahua had to work hard to learn the planting technical books mailed from home and the technical materials brought by Yang Nobita.

Fortunately, this year's management is still small and there are many processes missing. As long as the transplanted seedlings can survive and safely overwinter, it is enough. When spring comes next year, you must set up a frame for the vines to climb and pinch the tips to enhance the vitality of the main tips; sparse flowers, sparse fruits, and prune branches, which are all relatively cumbersome things.

Fortunately, Cen Jiahua has cheating devices like formations, so there should be no diseases and pests in the vineyard. There is no need to worry about transplanting seedlings and not being able to survive. This has saved him a lot of workload.

For more than 40 acres of terraced fields, a group of people only spent half a day to plant all the transplanted seedlings, and then poured them on the root water.

As the name suggests, the so-called "root water" is the first water after transplanting the plant. Because only after watering the "root water" can the root system of the plant be closely combined with the soil, and it can be considered as the root system of the root system. The "root water" must be watered thoroughly, because the soil in the first planting is not completely solid and there are many gaps in the soil. Only after watering the water can the soil and root system be fully integrated.

After that, Yang Nobita began to instruct the villagers to dig tree pits where fruit trees can be planted, and prepare to transport fruit trees seedlings to plant them at the nearest time.

Cen Jiahua stood on the mountain bag and watched the villagers working enthusiastically, and was also a little excited. After all, seeing this place that was originally covered with weeds gradually approaching the blueprint he imagined in his heart, Cen Jiahua still had some longing in his heart.

Although the recent development has completely cleaned Cen Jiahua's pockets, he has still won a lot of time. If he has to wait for enough funds to build everything, Cen Jiahua probably has to wait a lot of time. It is better to raise funds while building it like now, so that the construction of the manor can be completed one day earlier.

Fortunately, Cen Jiahua had bought a large amount of corn and rice as feed for the farm some time ago, so she was not worried that the farm would lose food. As long as she persisted for another month, the first batch of ducks could be slaughtered, and the accounting of tens of thousands of yuan would greatly improve Cen Jiahua's financial conditions.
