Forty, the confrontation in the ruins (1)

Since the outbreak of the "Balm-nosed Revolution" in which the Golden Elf Royal Family restored its royal power, Yongju Island has spent more than four years.

In other words, this island that once ruled half of the world has been struggling in the whirlpool of civil strife and coup for more than four years.

For this powerful country that once dominated the Seven Seas, this is really a painful history that cannot be looked back on.

In these past years, the Elf Kingdom of Yongju Island has been in a storm. A royal family, military government, major churches, and the democratic ones sent you to sing and appear. Every successful or failed regime change will cause the island to storm.

The repeated defeats of overseas wars have caused the territory of the Elf Kingdom of Yongju Island to shrink sharply. The territory of Taesel, Kalinshan, Arctic Port, Mazka Continent, Spice Islands, Jondas, Charia, Sel... one after another, colonies or vassal states have left the kingdom at an astonishing speed.

With the current local emergency, even the city-states of the Elves' Army's important springboard for returning to the Faren Continent, namely the Steam Lake, may have been abandoned!

What made observers feel even more shocking is the rapid decline of the population of elf citizens. In order to fully utilize the population of only four million citizens and fight with most of the world's more than one billion people, it had to adopt an extremely cruel overall war strategy, put every young and middle-aged man on the battlefield, use every grain of food as military ration, and use every coin to military expenditure. This typical militaristic practice, although it has long guaranteed the great cause of overseas conquest of the elf army. However, this total war used to fight against foreign enemies, once it is used in a civil war of killing each other, is unprecedentedly bloody and tragic.

What's more, while the elves broke out in civil war, the war machines that had already resented all kinds of foreign enemies, as well as those who dreamed of restoring independent colonies and vassal states, were also ready to take advantage of the fire and avenge their revenge. With the influence of internal and external forces, the war machines that were already somewhat overwhelmed by the Elf Kingdom of Yongju Island finally shattered and collapsed.

Due to the continuous famine, civil strife, coup, purge and repeated failures of overseas wars, the population of elf citizens under the control of the Yongju Island regime has dropped sharply from four million to less than two million.

To this day, even the core of this country, Yongju Island, has mostly fallen into the abyss of destruction.

And this great elf king city, Liuxipa City, was also temporarily occupied by a group of "friendly peacekeeping forces" with ulterior motives.

According to the analysis of the General Staff of the Giant Bear Legion, after experiencing the doomsday catastrophe across the island, the number of elves in this country may quickly fall below one million. And the right-age men and women who can be exiled to fight have already been empty, almost completely killed or injured.

Such a tragic loss, with the average life span of more than 700 years for the elves, and the long reproductive cycle of only one child at a time, is afraid that if you wait for another 500 years, you will not be able to relieve yourself.

The fundamental basis for civilization, order and the country to maintain is to have enough population to carry all these superstructures. If it fails so much that there is no population, what is the use of even a lot of wasteland?

But from another perspective, the above tragedy is completely unworthy of others' sympathy. When the Elf Army conquered the world and massacred the city and destroyed the country, there were never many tragedies like this.

No matter how many layers of "glory", "justice" and "historical mission" are coated by scholars, the rise and growth of this narrow island country is still based on the most barbaric violent plunder.

The "Elf Invasion" that lasted for hundreds of years has gained richly from overseas wars again and again, and the glorious glory of the hegemony of the ancient elves empire, making this gentle race, who was once delicate, noble and sensitive, indulged in art and nature, and loves peace and tranquility, completely red from then on. No matter men, women, young and old, or belief in identity, they all frantically supported the national policy of the war, looking forward to sharing some robbed stolen goods.

But it is precisely because the benefits brought by war and plunder are too great that the elves completely forgot how to manage the conquered lands, and never won the hearts of people in those places, and only know how to suppress them by force. When the elves' civil strife broke out, the country had basically no cohesion, and the huge territory immediately fell apart, and all the conquered countries were separated like races, and now they have almost lost.

"The Elf Kingdom of Yongju Island during the Great Expansion period was quite commendable in its art of war and combat will, but its leaders obviously lacked a long-term strategic vision. They only knew to conquer and occupy all the places that the sun could shine, and then stepped on all these places into hells that even the sun could not shine... The final result was that their Yongju Island would also turn into a dark hell.

Because those who get everything in war will eventually lose everything in war……………”

1 Excerpted from "The History of the Decline of the Elf Kingdom of Yongju Island"

Written by Phili Taylor, the goddess of magic, published in Deep Water City End Bookstore in 2009, he heard the sound of cannons outside gradually fading. The assistant engineer of the Royal Arsenal of Ryuhipa, Victor Moonlight, who had once passed away, dug out the mud and rubble with iron elves, drilled out of his own cellar, and carefully poked his head out of the collapsed house.

For him, the most half month he has survived recently has been a terrible nightmare.

First, when he was off work, another coup broke out in the capital, which almost killed him by shells on the street. Finally, it was a blessing in disguise. The food distribution station warehouse was blown open by shells. So Victor Yueguang excitedly grabbed a lot of food and ran home, but found that his house had been beaten into a hornet's nest at some point, and his blind father was hit by a stray bullet and died so much that he could not die again.

Poor Victor had to carry the shovel, dig a hole in the backyard and buried his father in dejectedly, then hurried under the chuáng board, listening to the scattered sound of gunfire outside, as well as the skylight and the choking black smoke, he hid in fear for several days and nights.
