One hundred and eighty-three, three new bodhisattvas (on)

.One Hundred and Eighty Three New Bodhisattvas (Part 1)

One Hundred and Eighty-Three New Bodhisattvas (Part 1)

Between the towering mountains surrounding Kamakura Ancient City on three sides, countless exquisite and elegant ancient temples are scattered on the stars.

In the suburbs of major cities in the island country of Japan, there are generally many temples. This is not only a stronghold for spreading religious beliefs, but also a cemetery, hospital, sanatorium, villa and comprehensive school. First of all, every more prestigious noble or samurai family will use the power of the clan to build a Bodhi temple as the ancestral tomb and ancestral hall of the entire clan. Some of the particularly generous top people will also choose to build a luxurious private temple in the beautiful place as their vacation villa, just like the Kinkaku Temple and Ginkaku Temple in the Ashikaku Masaki family in Kyoto... This so-called "temple" that sells dog meat with sheep's head is generally not open to the public, and it is difficult to say whether there are real monks.

As mentioned earlier, the Buddhist community in this country monopolizes all funeral business, and all cemeteries are under the control of the temple, so as to make huge profits. Ordinary people will often be tormented and ruined, but if they are unwilling to be exploited by the temple, they can only throw away their bodies in the wilderness, and even their souls cannot be reincarnated, and eventually become lonely ghosts. The dead who have not been ritually saved by monks cannot ascend to heaven...

In addition, since the Buddhist community in this country also monopolizes all medical activities and monks act as doctors and pastors, the temples naturally have to take into account the functions of hospitals and sanitary centers, and the fees are very dark.

Moreover, because the Buddhist temples have a lot of income and the monks have money and leisure to study, they have turned the temple into a place of cultural heritage. Therefore, since ancient times, except for the eldest sons who inherited the family business, the rest of the sons were often sent to become monks when they were very young.

This is not only to avoid disputes between future heirs, but also to plan a way out for other sons who cannot inherit their family business - so that they can use tender daisies as tuition fees, while practicing "traditions" with respectful masters and uncles, and playing a storied battle with the intestines of the sacred masters and uncles, while studying various cultural knowledge hard in the afterglow of the **, so that after growing a beard in the future, they can find a good position in some place with their knowledge, and have the opportunity to be inserted instead of being inserted... It was not until the rise of feudal schools, rural schools, private schools and temple houses on a large scale that children finally had a place to study without contributing chrysanthemums. This backward teaching model that integrates basics and learning was slowly eliminated.

Well, the topic seems to be a bit far-reaching. Back to the topic, as the former national political center, there are naturally many temples outside Kamakura. The more famous ones are Jueyuan Temple, Ruiquan Temple, Tokatsu Temple, Jingguangming Temple, Jile Temple, Suzuki Temple, etc. Although with the dilapidation and decline of Kamakura Castle, the incense of these temples has become very deserted, at least it has been passed down.

However, with His Majesty Buddha's sudden death and slept forever, these temples could not escape the catastrophe.

——The Japanese monks never abide by any rules and regulations. They have always been accustomed to eating, drinking, whore and gambling, levying and cheating, cheating, bullying men and women, and doing all kinds of evil. They have long caused resentment from heaven and people and people to be resentful. And these bald donkeys hold so much privilege and wealth in their hands, and they also look at the government from time to time, which has made countless people jealous.

In the past, people were afraid of Buddha Shakyamuni to support these bald donkeys, but ordinary people dared not take action easily. Now even Buddha has been beaten down, and monks who were originally quite powerful have become waste. If they don’t take the opportunity to make a fortune, when will they wait?

Therefore, the Buddhist temples, which had been retaining a neutral attitude in the wars on the island with their supreme magic power that was transcendent to the world, became the top target of looting for mobs and rioters in an instant. Not only were the Buddhist temples in the Kinki area mobilized by the imperial decree of the Buddha, but the "king-supporting righteous men" firmly implemented the three-light policy - all monks killed, all their property snatched, and all the temples burned.

Even the Kanto Buddhist temples, which were still within the sphere of influence of the old shogunate, were taken turns to the door by the vassal lords and military leaders, holding knives and forcibly extorting large sums of "army, grain, rice, and "public gold". They even had to recruit young nuns and handsome little novice monks, and organized several women's and men's teams to "work their own troops"... It was really miserable.

Faced with the sudden survival crisis, the arrogant monks who had long been accustomed to being generous and were unable to react for a while and were greatly damaged. Although these famous temples and ancient temples outside Kamakura have been dilapidated for a long time and have no oil and water to squeeze out, they have not been targeted by those who are interested. However, looking at the miserable experiences of their peers around them, they couldn't help but be frightened to the extreme, fearing that one day there would be bad luck.

In such panic, Master Jingshui Youhu, who was originally from Sensoji Temple in Edo and had a deep relationship with the "Overseas Master" and the new urban management team leader Tadao Kuroshima, became the target of shelter and life-saving straw for these bald donkeys.

Since he first lost all his magic power during the Edo chaos, and then unfortunately seriously injured and died, he was forced to survive by relying on the miracles prayed by Emperor Kumaze and the prince in the Moe Ding Palace, Jingshui Youhu, who barely survived, was also very uneasy about the current situation where monks and nuns of the whole country became useless. He was extremely anxious about the fact that all his magic power he had accumulated for decades of cultivation had been wasted.

Therefore, in this situation of inciting medical treatment, in order to restore his magic power, Jingshui Youhuo Qian used a crazy trick.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

In the evening, at the invitation of Jingshui Youhu, Feili brought Renee and a few guards to Jile Temple in the western suburbs of Kamakura.

It was almost dusk, and the bright red warm sunset passed through the sky, slantingly on the temple's quaint white walls and green tiles, emitting golden and red light, but it could not make people feel a trace of romance and warmth. Without the long and thick bell sounds and clear Sanskrit singing, what was presented to the visitors was a chaotic scene that could only be described as "disguised".

In the spacious bluestone square in the temple atrium, there were ragged cloth, clay pots, wood chips and garbage everywhere, as well as some crooked trolleys and boxes, as well as the charred embers that made fire and cook... Such a terrible dirt and messyness, and the same terrible stench, it was so terrible that people could not help but frown, as if no one had cleaned it for a long time.

Under the eaves of the corridors and Buddhist temples, the rows of patients lying on the rotten straw mats moaning even more heartbreaking - some vomit and diarrhea, some cough up blood and pus, some wail continuously, and some are already unconscious... The twisted faces convey speechless pain, and the unpleasant smell in the air can even make people retching.

——The entire Kanto land plague spreads, and Kamakura Castle, also located in Kanto, will naturally not be unaffected. Although the vast majority of Western priests in China are gathered here, as well as hundreds of witches, priests and even local gods who have been trying hard to collect, they are still a little worried and can't handle it at all when facing a large number of patients who broke out in the blink of an eye.

Moreover, there is also a question of priority protection order, or the order of queuing for rescue.

As the commander of an army, Major General Ferry Taylor must first ensure the health of his 15,000 soldiers; as the supreme leader of a government, Miss Ryuki Mitsui must also ensure the health of his military and political officials; as the foreign ambassador of the Naserel Empire, Ms. Zena must also ensure the health of tens of thousands of imperial expatriates.

As for the ordinary people gathered in Kamakura City, they can only be placed back... According to the mandatory regulations of the city management team, in order to avoid the spread of infection, patients suffering from plague were sent to these Buddhist temples in the suburbs of the city to isolate and resettled, and monks and nuns who are not useful are responsible for taking care of them. According to the authorities' viewpoint, saving lives and helping the wounded is the responsibility of these bald donkeys. Even if they have no magic power, they cannot cure the disease. Then, with the sacrifices they have enjoyed for many years, they should at least use some residual heat to take care of the patients at the risk of being infected. Then, if they have spare energy, the relevant authorities will draw the surplus priests, witches and priests to cast spells and treat them.

Obviously, a considerable number of patients would definitely not survive. Before they were lined up and finally got the magical treatment, they were very unfortunate to kick their legs and die... In fact, just as Master Jingshui Youhu came out to greet them, Feili saw a team of middle-aged monks wearing masks pushing many carts, carrying dozens of dirty bodies wrapped in straw mats, dragging them to a remote and secluded corner to unload them, and then sweating profusely digging a hole, preparing to bury these unlucky ghosts.

Well? Why don’t you burn it in one fire to save trouble? The firewood on the mountain is limited, and the price of oil is also very expensive. Who will pay for this fee?

"…This…I remember that I just sent the priest with the army to treat it in the afternoon, why are so many people still dead from illness?"

Looking at the many corpses that were killed by the plague, Feili couldn't help but take a breath - this is just the number of a temple in a day.

"...Amitabha, this is also a helpless thing. The witches and priests under the eldest daughter of the Mitsui family have not been here for several days. Not only can the patients sent to the quarantine be able to hold on, but even the monks in this temple are quite sick."

Master Jingshui Youhu clasped his hands together, and Baoxiang sighed solemnly, and Feili frowned.

"...I haven't sent anyone to treat the disease for several days? This is too irresponsible. Speaking of which, these are all subjects under her rule. I am just an outsider who helps... No, I have to talk to her. Now she has fallen to the point where the mountains and rivers are broken and the country is broken. There is no more capital left, but you must not destroy this last base..."

"...Amitabha, you must not be too harsh on the major general. The eldest lady also has her own difficulties..."

Jingshui Youhu hurriedly recited the Buddha's name and explained to Feili, "...In recent days, if it weren't for all the witches, the priests would have set up magic circles to subdue demons and exorcises evil spirits. Kamakura would have caused a tragedy of thousands of ghosts attacking the city..."

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

According to the old monk Jingshui Youhuo, the sudden sleep of Buddha Shakyamuni not only caused the entire country's medical system to collapse, but also caused an unprecedented plague of hundreds of thousands of corpses. The more terrible problem is that the path of reincarnation, which has been monopolized by the Buddhist community for a long time and connected the world with the underworld and hell was cut off at once.

——Although in addition to monks and nuns, there are many other mixed practitioners in this country, as well as wilderness gods with more populations, which can theoretically save the dead souls. Unfortunately, the monks in the temple have always regarded funeral as a forbidden body for making money. If other forces dare to extend their hands in this regard, they will immediately attack them... Therefore, under the strong suppression of Buddhism, the other priests, witches and even low-level gods did not dare to step beyond the line. Even if they had the magic to save the dead souls, they would have been lost after being abandoned for thousands of years.

Therefore, after the monks and nuns of the whole country became useless people and could no longer save the souls of the dead, Japan could no longer find any decent substitutes. And it is not possible to re-examine the long-lost soul burial method to succeed overnight.

It was so good now that the whole village and city were infected with plague, without any medicine, and died in extreme pain. On the other hand, there were hundreds of thousands, millions of souls wandering in the secular world without anyone to guide them, and they were unable to be liberated and ascended to heaven. In the end, they had to turn into evil ghosts and raged on the earthly world...

As a result, ghosts suddenly flooded the land of Kanto, monsters grew, and demons increased rapidly... These ghosts and evil spirits born in extreme pain, with infinite resentment towards all living beings in the world, aimed the most important attack spearhead at the only fairly intact city of Kamakura. Starting about two or three days ago, on every night, hundreds of evil spirits forced into Kamakura, trying to kill the living people and devour the living souls.

For this reason, the relevant authorities had to mobilize all the witches and priests, use various talismans and magic circles, and fight with these ghosts in a fierce battle, and finally barely blocked them outside the city. However, these spell casters were unable to diagnose and treat patients. On the contrary, they were often injured and needed timely treatment, which further weakened the already very nervous medical ability...

What's worse is that as the plague spreads, the number of dead people in various places continues to increase. New ghosts linger in deserted villages and abandoned cities everywhere, making the land outside more and more ghostly. Moreover, winter is approaching, and the weather is getting colder and colder...

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

"...In other words, as the solar term enters winter, the negative energy between heaven and earth is increasing, and the entire environment will be more beneficial to the breeding of vengeful spirits and evil spirits. If you are still unable to curb it, the situation may be out of control..."

After listening to the old monk's description, Feilio, who is also a veteran spellcaster, thought about it and thought through the key.

Although the vengeful spirits and evil spirits in this country are slightly different from similar species in the Feren continent in the West, they should all belong to the undead products and rely on negative energy to drive them. Therefore, their activity is closely related to the climate and environment - the hotter and brighter the time, the more active and vigorous the creatures in the world are, the more positive energy is, and the strength of the undead will be weakened;

On the contrary, the colder and darker the creatures in the world will be slow and sluggish, the more the negative energy will be, the greater the strength of the undead will be... And now it is the late autumn season when all things are withered, and winter will be coming soon.

The priests who just emerged have already struggled with these evil spirits who guard Kamakura. If the weather turns colder, the negative energy concentration further increases, the number of dead people increases, and the strength of the undead further increases... It is really hard to imagine that they can hold on. If they really get to the point where the ghosts are rampant in Kamakura City, then this war will be like losing without a fight

In fact, the whole thing has developed to this level. For this tragic country, it is no longer just a "small chaos" of regime change and governance, but a complete destruction of the country and the destruction of the tribe, turning the entire Japanese archipelago into a ghost domain.

In Jingshui Youhu's view, organizing monks to collectively change their sects in order to restore their magic power and save their souls is urgent.

Fortunately, in this kind of change of schools, the Buddhist community has always been very, very experienced and familiar with it...

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

Therefore, after passing through a plague-defying resettlement area and walking through several weedy abandoned courtyards, Feili saw a large group of shining bald men gathered in the most magnificent and open hall, each wearing the cleanest robes, holding incense, silk flowers or scriptures in his hands, kneeling on the futon with a pious expression, chanting and praying.

In front of them, on the stone lotus platform two feet in a radius, there were two simple-painted statues of pine wood that were rushing out of work in a hurry and met with a size of the body. Although many Buddhist styles were inevitably added, Feili still felt familiar.

——Well, regardless of the sculpture and artistic style of this statue, the lengthy names carved on the two tablets in front of the statue made Feili look straight and her mind dizzy.

One of the tablets reads in blue paint: "The supreme Dharma Lord of the heavens, the wonderful Western flower and the Virtue of Xu Hongren, and the Bodhisattva of Tzu Chi Guangdu".

Another tablet is written in golden lacquer: "The Supreme Benefits and Wealth in the Four Seas, the Saint of the God of the West, the Saint of Protecting Wealth and Protecting Luck, and the Golden Robe, the Birth of the Great Heaven Bodhisattva."

——What kind of shit are these stuffy stuff?

"...This... I said, Master Jingshui Youhu, you just randomly changed the names of the two nobles, without even asking for instructions. Will you be too disrespectful to these two gods?" Feili wiped the sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief, and asked with a trembling voice, "...Why do you always make me feel desecrated..."

"...Amitabha, I think there should be no problem. It's like such a small matter, and the two Your Highnesses should be able to understand..."

Jingshui Youhu fox touched the long beards on his chin and replied disapprovingly, "... It was just to adapt to the missionary needs in this country, and a new name that conforms to local customs was added. He did not ask the two high men to completely abandon their old names... For the sake of missionary convenience, we Buddhists did not obtain any consent from anyone. First, they changed Guanyin Bodhisattva from a man to a eunuch, and then from a eunuch to a woman. It seemed that they had never heard His Highness Guanyin complain about anything..."

"...Well...the Bodhisattva of your teachings is really very good and powerful..."
