Chapter 71 Twentieth Century Fox

Ryan knows the virtues of tabloids, especially those under News Corp. Ryan knows the New York Post. Some people may not know about the New York Post, but when it comes to the Sun, everyone knows it. These two newspapers are both under Murdoch and have a consistent reporting style.

After the lawyer's letter was sent, the tabloids became much more restrained. It was only the early 1990s and they were not as rampant as they later.

Ryan immediately threw this matter behind his head. He couldn't be bitten by a dog and then bite it back on the dog, right? Besides, there is no need to worry. If there is a chance in the future, he will naturally settle the accounts with News Corporation. He is not the one who can hold a boat in the prime minister's belly.

As for going to sue, let’s forget it. The tabloids hope that he will take them to court, which is to promote them for free and increase their influence.

Originally, Ryan wanted to find time to visit Natalie, but unfortunately, the Long Island girl was not in New York. After the summer vacation began, she attended a drama summer camp and went to Tennessee early.

After a long journey around the major cities in eastern North America, on July 29, the crew arrived at the last stop of the trip, Miami, a beachfront resort in Florida.

As time goes by, the box office of "Terminator 2" has become more and more terrifying. After winning nearly $60 million in the first four days of the first week, the box office in the second week has dropped slightly, but it still achieved more than $47 million in the seven days.

The box office in North America exceeded 100 million US dollars in two weeks after the movie was released. Even though it is still a little different from the results of "Batman", it is very rare. Don't forget that "Batman" is a superhero, and has accumulated a large number of comic fans before the movie appears.

To this day, "Terminator 2" has achieved a box office of nearly $160 million in four weeks since its release in North America. It is a foregone conclusion that the box office of North America exceeds $200 million. At the same time, the movie has also been launched in Europe and South Korea in the Far East, and the box office is also full of popularity.

To be honest, this movie has swept the summer season, and many movies have changed their release dates because of its existence.

The two teams of crew members promoted on the East and West Coasts have become the most concerned focus of entertainment media. No matter where they go, there are a large number of movie fans and dozens of big and tabloid reporters. Film, whom they murdered in a month, is probably able to pull from New York to Los Angeles.

James Cameron completely established his position as a master, and Linda Hamilton also became a first-line actress. As for the people who benefited the most from the movie, it was naturally Ryan and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Needless to say, as the movie continues to sell well, more and more media have continuously pressed the title of Hollywood's number one child star on his head, including large newspapers such as the New York Times and the Washington Post. At least half of the fans around the crew came for him every time they were promoted.

Of course, the biggest gain was Arnold Schwarzenegger. T800 made him become a Hollywood superstar. It is said that some producers have offered him a $20 million salary and invited him to join.

Unfortunately, Schwarzenegger declined everything because he had a very suitable script in his hand.

A movie fan once said in an interview with a reporter, "I was not interested in movies at all, but I walked into the theater just because I like Ryan. But after the movie started, the tense plot and suffocating air made me tremble excitedly. The fatal shot of T800 on T1000 made me extremely excited. I will always remember the ending of the movie. He made me cry. I like John Connor, the rebellious and kind future savior, and also like T800 played by Schwarzenegger. They accompanied me to watch the whole movie."

"Especially the T800, I like his leather jacket, sunglasses and the shotgun; I like the human heart under his metal shell. The picture of the Terminator's own melting furnace is still rippling in my mind, slowly descending ropes, hot furnaces, watching the broken Terminator slowly melt in the furnace, I don't know what moistened my eyes. When he was about to be burned out, the raised thumbs smashed my heart. Although it seemed pretentious and awkward to cry in front of others, I really couldn't help it."

OK! His brainless fans began to change to Arnold's brainless fans! This is what Ryan thought after seeing the report, but he didn't mind that even though he was the one with the best acting skills in the movie, this movie was destined to leave only a classic image, that is, T800.

After the intensive publicity journey, Ryan's body gradually couldn't bear it. After all, he was in the stage of growing up.

After returning from the theater to the Hilton Hotel where he was staying, I really wanted to jump on the bed and have a good sleep.

But Cameron didn't let Ryan have some leisure time, so he took him to the cafe and found a secluded place to sit together. The big beard looked at him and just smiled. Ryan was puzzled. After more than ten minutes, he finally understood.

After entering the cafe, a middle-aged man came straight to their table. After shaking hands with him, James Cameron introduced, "Ryan, this is Grant Hill, the producer of 20th Century Fox."

Then, Ryan was introduced to the other party.

Grant Hill Ryan frowned. He only knew that there was a basketball player who seemed to be called this name. Well, he had no love for basketball and didn't remember clearly. However, he was sure that he had never met the other party before. After all, because of News Group, he rarely dealt with Twentieth Century Fox.

After saying hello, everyone sat down again. Ryan was so smart. He looked at the two people who were talking in a low voice and roughly understood what was going on.

Twentieth Century Fox is a film subsidiary of News Corporation and is also the most enjoyable film company to cooperate with James Cameron. Ryan knew that if it weren't for his appearance, "The True Lies", "Titanic" and "Avatar" would be the product of their cooperation in the future.

Because the tabloids represented by the New York Post have been attacking, Ryan has no good feelings for News Corp. He has complained more than once during the crew's publicity process. I guess Cameron should have seen something, so he privately promoted this meeting.

In fact, Ryan knew very well that most of the attacks in newspapers and magazines were caused by nature and had no cent relationship with film companies. Moreover, hype is hype and business is business. These are two different things.

This is North America, and it is more important to be effective. After a few simple polite words between the two sides, they quickly got to the point.

"Ryan, Twentieth Century Fox has the intention to invest in "The True Lies". I'm here to ask for your opinion this time," said Grant Hill.

"I gave Jim the script. I won't interfere with which film company he wants to cooperate with. As for the price of the script, you can ask someone to discuss with Pat." Ryan originally wanted to make a part of the investment in this movie, but thinking about the horrific budget of this movie in his previous life, and thinking about the little money he had on hand, it would be fine.

"Do you have any suggestions?" Hill asked again.

"This is Jim's movie, so I'd better give less opinions."

Seeing Cameron's eyes coming, Ryan had to say, "Okay, one thing is that this movie is the inspiration I got from an old French movie. The copyright is in my hands. You probably have to spend more money."

The two of them still stared at him in a daze. Ryan sighed and had to say again, "Talk to the Pentagon and get a few real Sea Harrier fighters. Arnold would better learn to drive, at least to ensure takeoff and landing."

"Actually..." Cameron pinched his beard, "I really want to change my daughter in the movie into a son and let you play it."

"Come on, Jim, then this role will be overturned and started over again. Besides, my age is not right now." Without any necessity, Ryan did not want to work with him again as an actor.

What's more, in his previous life, Alisa Dushku, who played his daughter, fell off a plane during filming, broke several ribs, and lay in the hospital for several months. God only knew if he had played the same situation.

Grant Hill didn't expect things to go surprisingly smoothly. Of course, they just need to reach their intentions, and there will naturally be agents to discuss specific things.

After saying a few more words, he quickly talked about the investment in this movie. Grant Hill knew that Ryan, Nicole and others had set up an empty shell film company, and asked politely, "Ryan, we can actually cooperate."

Ryan naturally understood what he was saying, shook his head with a smile, and said, "Grant, I want to ask, how much budget do you have for this movie?"

"It's $100 million at the moment." Hill didn't frown when he said this.

Indeed, the big sale of "Terminator 2" made people see James Cameron's strength clearly and realize that if you want to achieve a high box office, big investments and big productions will inevitably be inevitable.

But Ryan knew very well that this million US dollars was definitely not enough for Cameron to spend money, and the investment amount would increase by at least 20%. Moreover, he heard from the bearded man that the movie would not start until next year, so he didn't have that much money to focus on this project.

"Forget it, you should know that we worked with Warner on Bodyguards and Miramax on "Yihai Xiongfeng". There is currently no sufficient funds." Ryan refused directly.

When he said goodbye, Grant Hill solemnly shook Ryan's hand, completely dealing with his peers, "Okay, Ryan, I think we will have more opportunities to cooperate in the future."

"There will definitely be." Ryan replied politely.

Back on the floor where he lived, before entering the room, Ryan said a few words to Mario Casa, who was coming to the scene. He would not follow the crew again tomorrow and would visit the set on the beach in Miami.

Nicole Kidman is following the crew to film some of the Navy scenes.
