Dedicated to the forever classic "Transformers" in memory

One winter in the early 1990s, I ushered in my first winter vacation in elementary school. The 6 o'clock cartoon period every night was the most beautiful moment that all children were looking forward to during that period. On such a day without warning, a long TV animation that had been popular in the United States a few years ago suddenly appeared, completely changing my world and vision! From then on, the world outside opened for me like a door full of freshness and vitality for the first time!

Although "Transformers" was released in many areas of China's SD region after broadcasting at that time, it was nearly half a year later than that of BJS, but this could not stop me from having a fanatical love and pursuit of this work.

To put it bluntly, the 1984 version of "Transformers" is nothing more than a long commercial film of Hasbro Toys in the United States. The prototype of this series of toys is just a reproduction of some mini robot team series from Takara. In the United States, it is even determined to repackage these products that were already on the market many years ago and promote animations, even the toy makers of Japanese owners did not think that this idea could lead to success!

Japanese Toei animation producers who are used to beautiful girls, passionate themes and regard robots as "driving tools", have never looked down on this commissioned processing work from their hearts. However, as the saying goes, intentionally planting flowers but not blooming, and unintentionally planting willows and willows to form shade. The film's effect is much higher than everyone's expectations! An animation work with a wonderful world view and convincing character was born in this way! The sales of toys were completely driven, and all subsequent successes were beyond the original expectations of the production team!

In fact, "Transformers" is a work that has many problems with content settings after careful study.

The impercise painting and the deadly settings of many bug-level existences, not to mention today's vision, even when it was broadcasted at that time, there were many jokes! Almost every child of that era would be puzzled by Optimus Prime's carriage running out like magic, and would be surprised at how the huge volume of the sound wave turned into a mini recorder.

Although these contents that the producers did not want to explain at the beginning, they were later given various "bad explanations" by many official explanations for commercial interests due to the expansion and complexity of the "Transformers" worldview. However, there are probably deeper reasons why such a problematic animation work can still be so successful and classic.

As we all know, robot themes and toy works are important branches of the Japanese animation and model play market, but for European and American audiences and consumers who have the "Shadow of Franken Stein", works with this theme often play more roles in the foil of mainstream science fiction works and are difficult to become the protagonist!

The huge volume of the European and American markets actually completely accommodates a successful work with such a theme. "Transformers" and "The Variety Lion" of the same era just seized the opportunity in this market. There is no excessive Japanese anime style, but some American anime have relatively relaxed and simpler world view settings. In addition, the toy vendors' vigorous promotion has fueled the fire, success was actually decided from the beginning!

The style that keeps pace with the times makes the products related to the "Transformers" series always closely related to the combination of popular elements under the context of the general environment at that time. These have made their style changeable, but their spirits remain unchanged! Therefore, we can see the continuous introduction of new works and brand new toy product designs! The success of these subsequent works is undoubtedly based on the foundation of the first edition of "Transformers" in 1984!

When the live-action version of "Transformers" was launched in 2007, the fire of childhood memories of a generation of Chinese people was ignited! A wave of nostalgia swept across China! However, for me personally, this enthusiasm has nothing to do with nostalgia! Because I have never left my "steel partner", and they have never left me!

From the 1984 version of "Transformers", to the many Japanese works later, to the "Beast Wars" series that rekindled the "Transformers" craze in the 1990s, to the emergence of many new era animation works and toys after the millennium. Since the winter of 1989, I have never left this group of robot warriors with my own emotions, and they have accompanied me through one spring, summer, autumn and winter after another!

A simple toy advertising cartoon has been going on all the way, and has produced nearly 700 episodes of long animations; toy products that were originally planned to buy $30 million in cumulative revenue, but were successful, eventually became a classic licensed product with more than 500 million worldwide sales of billions of dollars.

I'm afraid even Hasbro did not expect that Disney made its fortune as a little mouse back then. The success of the products related to the "Transformers" series only comes from the story of a small toy! However, this story with a strong commercial flavor unexpectedly infected our generation's children and became the best part of our memory.

And it never fades away!

The live-action Transformers has been filmed four movies. For those who like to trace the roots, we will not forget that all of this is just a children's cartoon from childhood. But none of us thought at that time how profound it will have on us in the future...

Give it to Optimus Prime and Megatron in the depths of memory!

Autobot, deformed......
