Chapter 48 Charity Dinner

Today is March 30th. Although five days have passed since the Oscar Night, when the car they were riding out, several cars and motorcycles were immediately placed behind them. There was no need to go to see it. Ryan also knew that it was the paparazzi waiting outside the villa and followed.

Strictly speaking, today's charity dinner has a great relationship with him. It was the orphan topic that triggered two days ago that prompted the entertainment and media circles to act in a unified manner. Time Warner led the organization of this donation campaign for orphans across the United States.

When night fell, Ryan and the others arrived at the venue of the dinner, at the Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Just like all public charity dinners, there was a short red carpet before entering the hotel, but Ryan and Nicole didn't stop too much. They just asked the reporter to take a few photos and walked into the grand banquet hall under the guidance of the waiter.

This is a super large banquet hall with hundreds of square feet. It is said that sometimes the Golden Globe Awards ceremony is held here. Not only is there a spacious stage, but there are many independent rest rooms on both sides.

Because the media reported on the scene, the dinner was very formal. Listening to the soothing music played by the band on the stage, Ryan followed the waiter to the table that belonged to them. This position was not very good and somewhat biased, but it was in line with the two of them's current status in Hollywood.

The eyes are full of strange faces. Even if there are occasional acquaintances, Ryan is just waving. The existence of the media has turned this place into a serious public place rather than a relaxed charity party.

"Somewhat boring." Ryan shrugged and could only chat with Nicole.

"Okay, my dear, don't look like this. You are a big star now." Nicole smiled laughingly, and just saw Jinslie walking into the banquet hall, and quickly stood up and waved to her.

Ryan looked at the several large cameras that were built and thought he would not be able to do live broadcasts, right? Is this a charity or a show?

Well, he actually knows that for most people in this circle, charity is just a show. After all, there are very few people like Michael Jackson who really want to help others.

Not to mention others, just talking about himself and Nicole are definitely not the kind of people who are sincere in charity. However, if you donate a sum of money and allow yourself to get a layer of halo, no one who has a normal mind will refuse.

"Are the items you donated ready?" Jinsli asked after sitting down.

The party is not to donate money directly, so there will be no value for any show. Instead, a charity auction will be held after a small performance prepared by the organizer. As for the auction items, you will have to see donations from all the celebrities in the venue.

"This is mine." Nicole took out a jewelry box, which was a pair of emerald earrings.

"The original manuscript of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Ryan took out a file bag from Nicole's handbag and handed it directly to Jinslie. She would do this.

"Ryan, you really want to do it." Jinsley's eyes twitched. In her opinion, this manuscript might be inconspicuous now, but as Harry Potter becomes hotter, it will inevitably become a treasure in the future.

"It's okay, in my conception, Harry Potter has many movies, and I can buy them back." Ryan waved his hand indifferently.

After Jinsley left, Ryan was quickly attracted by a man next to the table. Unlike other men's suits and ties, he wore a black turtleneck jumper, blue Reeves jeans, and sports running shoes on his feet. He looked different or inconsistent on such a formal occasion.

Especially the circular eyes he wore made his image a classic worshipped by countless people in his previous life.

"The future will inevitably be the information age. The IT industry will not be depressed all the time. At most two to three years, it will enter a period of rapid development, just like now..."

The founder of Apple was giving his preaching speech to the people around him. His saliva was flying and passionate, which was really impressive. Fortunately, he knew what occasion this was and tried to lower his voice.

"Who is he? Why do he look a little crazy?" Nicole Kidman asked curiously.

"Steve Jobs! The founder of Apple Computer." Ryan was very interested and listened to it.

It has to be said that although Jobs is arrogant, paranoid, irritable, and has a bad reputation and has never stopped the scandal of having an illegitimate daughter, he is indeed a very amazing person. Even though he was swept out by an apple, he is now at the lowest point in his life, but he has never been discouraged.

"Apple is in the quagmire of losses, Microsoft is lukewarm, and Intel and Texas Instruments' chip technology has not made any breakthroughs. I don't think the IT industry will flourish." The person at the deskmate obviously disagrees with his opinion and began to refute.

"No, no, no." Ryan suddenly leaned out and interrupted, "I think everyone has used computers, right? How is the computer now compared to ten years ago? And as time goes by, the update of computer technology will only get faster and faster. One day in the future, it will not be too far away. At most ten years, computers will become a necessity in our work and life."

"But now many companies have problems, such as Apple, which is losing money continuously." The man was a little surprised when he saw that he was a child who refuted him, but more of them were malicious.

"It's true, Apple is not as good as before." Ryan nodded first, and when the guy smiled proudly, he said, "Because Apple has big problems in technology updates, now they are just taking advantage of their previous capital. In my opinion, it seems very simple."

"Very simple?" The man curled his lips, obviously not taking a little kid's words seriously.

"Of course." Ryan looked at Steve Jobs, "As long as Apple invites his founder back, all this will be solved."

As if to cooperate with him, Jobs' chin raised slightly, but Ryan knew that the other party was just a habitual movement.

The man couldn't really argue with a child on this. After a gentle snorting, he left the table.

"Hello, Mr. Jobs." Ryan did not lean over, but just owed slightly, "I am Ryan Jenkins, I'm happy to know you."

Steve Jobs just nodded at him. Although the other person's words were very much to his liking, he was not interested in dealing with a teenager.

Although the information I read in my previous life may not be reliable, it can somewhat reflect some of Jobs' personality. Ryan doesn't mind. Even if he is five years older, he will come over and tie him up with Jobs and talk about the future. But now, come on, who cares about an eleven-year-old child?

"I don't like him, I'm so arrogant." When Ryan turned around, Nicole glared at the side without a trace.

"Not many people like him."

Ryan shook his head. If Jobs hadn't offended all the people, how could he be swept out by the company he founded?

He was holding a treasure in his hand! However, he was losing money now and was bleeding in his heart. It is said that he had plans to take off his hand.

The dinner officially began soon, and several celebrities said a few simple words, and the singing and dancing performance kicked off. Several popular singers sang one after another. Ryan also saw several familiar faces, such as Whitney Houston, Maria Kelly and Celine Dion.

After a short singing and dancing, there was a charity auction, and the host was not a professional auctioneer, but Whoopi Gordonburg.

To be honest, her style is not suitable for hosting occasions like this. Ryan looked at several directors of Time Warner ahead and thought to himself, could it be that their heads were in trouble?

Here, it is difficult to see the price at the real auction. Even if someone is tit-for-tat, he will stop trying it out easily. However, this situation was quickly broken, and the reason is very simple.

"Wow, the lot below is definitely a unique existence in this world." Whoopi Gordonburg widened his eyes, "If possible, can I take it home?"

"Okay, no joke, the lot below comes from Ryan Jenkins, the original manuscript of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

It is indeed very unique, especially those with children at home, their eyes are lit up.

There was no reserve price for this auction, and soon a brand was up.

"20,000 US dollars!"

But then more signs stood up.

"50,000 US dollars!"

“$100,000!”

“$150,000.”

Without thinking, Nicole raised the license plate in her hand, "200,000 US dollars!"

No one knows whether it is worth buying a novel that was popular for $200,000, but not only adults but also minors came to the scene.

A little girl on the Hilton family table in the front row, after begging her father for a few words, she raised her license plate, "$250,000!"

Nicole Kidman naturally would not let Ryan's manuscript fall into the hands of others, and bid again, "$300,000!"

The little girl leaned into her father's ear and muttered a few more words, but her father shook her head firmly. The girl turned her head and glared at Nicole fiercely, looking very cute.

Harry Potter's original manuscript is indeed precious, but it is incomparable to the value of the artwork donated by celebrities and wealthy people. If Ryan takes out this manuscript in another ten years, or twenty years, the form will be changed.

What's more, in the eyes of others, he is only eleven years old and is so prolific that there are still many manuscripts in the future.

Similarly, Ryan would not let Nicole's belongings fall into the hands of others, and after a bid, he put the emerald earrings in his pocket.

With the two checks delivered, their task was successfully completed. Ryan muttered in Nicole's ear and walked towards the bathroom. However, when he came out, he found a little girl waiting next to the bathroom.
