Chapter 312 Saving Private Ryan 1

This is the soldier to be saved? Why did he die?

Many viewers have questions in their hearts. Is Ryan Jenkins the character played by a dead person?

Before they could ask questions, the camera switched into a spacious office. The crisp typing of the typewriter, coupled with the serious faces of women, all showed that they were engaged in extremely important work.

"Dear Mr. Boyd, you should have learned about the news of your son's death..." The voice-over clearly expressed the work they were doing.

A middle-aged woman discovered something unusual from several death reports, and she took these to find her superior officer...

Sean Ryan! Peter Ryan! Daniel Ryan!

These are the three brothers who died in battle. Their youngest brother is a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He has already carried out airborne somewhere in Normandy. Life and death are unknown!

After this dialogue, the audience gradually realized that it must be the one who wants to save Ryan.

Like all American main theme movies, the explanation of family affection will not be ignored. On the battlefield, there were soldiers shouting "Mom" at the critical moment of life and death. Here, the mother collapsed on the ground after learning the news of her three sons' death...

There is still no dialogue here, but the shots created by the movie are enough to make people cry.

James Ryan is the name of the soldier who needs to be rescued. This incident alarmed the top leaders of the US military. Some generals believed that Ryan had gone deep behind enemy lines and had lost contact and might have been killed. It was not very meaningful to find him, but General Marshall did not think so.

He read the letter from Arabraham Lincoln to a mother.

"Miss. Dear lady, I have learned from the War Archives Department of Admiral Adjutant, Massachusetts, that you are the mother of five soldiers who died gloriously on the battlefield. I feel that my words are shallow and powerless, and that you cannot soothe your sorrow or make up for your losses, but I must thank you here, that they died to save the country. May God appease your pain of losing your son, and that you will always miss your far-off love, and that the divine glory belongs to you, because you have paid a heavy price for freedom! Alas Bohan Lincoln!"

Everyone fell into silence, including the audience in front of the screen. Although General Marshall in the picture read the letter in a very calm voice, it had a touching power.

"The child is still alive. We will send someone to find him and take him away from the battlefield!" The famous general made a decision.

However, to save Ryan, a small team must be sent across the German-controlled area. They are most likely to be killed. Is it worth it to save a small team of people?

The paradox first appeared.

Three days after Omaha landed, Captain Miller and his brothers became the small team that carried out this order. In order to facilitate the expansion of the French region occupied by the German army, Captain Miller specially found a civilian soldier Urban to serve as the translator for their group.

Apart from Captain Miller, this member with the most important role in the team showed his characteristics when he appeared, with little caution and extremely lack of combat experience. In other words, he was a newly enlisted timid soldier with a natural fear of war.

The group embarked on this uncertain itinerary. Although they had to follow the order, they thought it was an extremely ridiculous task. After all, everyone has a mother. Why did they give their lives for other people's children and mothers?

Among them is Captain Miller, because it is likely to kill his brothers.

The theme of the movie is completely clear. Those who are familiar with the Hollywood production model should be able to imagine that the fate of this group is very good and bad.

Death soon came to the head of the squad.

In the heavy rain, they came to a small town and found the US troops who arrived here in advance. After asking James Ryan about news, they rushed to the town square. On the way, they met a surviving Frenchman. The family insisted on letting them take the child away, but Captain Miller refused.

But Cappazzo, one of the team members, took the child against the order. After Captain Miller snatched the child, he was exposed to the German sniper's vision and was shot and fell to the ground.

He lay in the heavy rain, blood and rain washed the ground together. The German snipers stared at the squad, making it impossible for them to rescue immediately. Military doctor Wade wanted to step forward to rescue, but was dragged back by Captain Miller and his colleagues.

Cappazzo seemed to have anticipated his fate, so he raised the letter to his father, asking his companions to copy it again and mail it back, so that he would not see the blood on it.

Jackson, the sniper of the team, killed the German sniper, but Cappazzo was not rescued, and the team lost the first member.

Family and family are themes that will never be outdated in Hollywood movies. Whether it is Cappazzo's last letter or the Frenchman's survivors' life, they all show this.

This is also what Spielberg is so smart. He understands that a hot war scene alone cannot win the hearts of the audience, nor can he recover the huge investment of tens of millions of dollars. A more profound theme is a wise choice.

Maybe others don’t know, but Ryan knew that there were several war films with much higher investments in the next few years, such as "Pearl Harbor", "The War to the City", "Black Hawk Descend", etc., but all ended miserably, which can illustrate some problems.

This is the French region occupied by the German army. Unexpected encounters may break out at any time. Bullets shot from the inconspicuous corners of the corners of the wall may take away a living life.

But the team did not stop and continued their mission. After a sudden encounter, they found the leading unit of the 101st Airborne Division and heard the exact news about James Ryan.

"Our uncle is here." The members of the team looked at the soldiers running with strange eyes, "He is just a bastard."

However, when Captain Miller asked, he realized that this Ryan was not Pi Ryan, and they were still far from fulfilling their mission.

Although the movie starts from Captain Miller's perspective, the portrayal of other characters is also classic. Needless to say, Cappazzo who was temporarily added during the filming, Wade, Urban and others have distinct personalities and their own worlds.

Private James Ryan became the lingering curse of this team. They met many troops of the 101st Airborne Division, but they could never find him.
