Section 215 Escape

Arod stood in the secret room. The Duke of Burgundy seemed to be sitting casually on the chair, but in fact, inside the dark wall of the secret room, dozens of soldiers were watching Arod's every move with caution. The fully armed swordsman put his hands on the hilt of the sword, and the crossbowman aimed at Arod who was standing in the secret room. As long as he made a strange move, he would become a human-shaped hedgehog.

"Mr. Duke, I am just an ordinary doctor. It is my honor to serve the noble Duke." Arod bowed to the Duke of Burgundy.

"Well." The Duke of Burgundy looked at him standing in front of him. Although Arod was respectful, he could detect that Arod was always different.

"But." Aruod raised his waist and showed a hesitant expression.

"What's the problem?" asked the Duke of Burgundy.

"Our safety is not guaranteed, and we are not protected in the castle of Lord Duke. This may be detrimental to His Royal Highness the Princess's treatment." Arod glanced at the Duke of Burgundy and said to the Duke.

"Don't worry, you are my guests. From now on, I will do my best to protect your safety. Anyone who threatens you is threatening me." The Duke of Burgundy quickly assured Arod for his daughter.

"Then, we will feel relieved." Aruod said with a smile to thank the Duke.

"Ahem, okay, as my guest, you are one of the few people who can enter the secret room." The Duke of Burgundy also smiled. As long as Arod was not a person who was not against him, he sent a signal to the soldiers in the secret room, and the crossbowman inside retreated.

The Duke of Burgundy had many scrolls placed in the secret chamber, with red wax seals on them, and the seals were sealed with top secret documents, especially since Lorraine was incorporated into the Kingdom of East Frank. The Duke of Burgundy deliberately showed it to Arod to test Arod's attitude. If Arod was a spy of a certain noble, he would not be moved when facing these top secret documents, but unfortunately Arod had no reaction at all, and the Duke was relieved.

"What are you going to do with Lord Franks?" Arod said to the Duke of Burgundy.

"I heard the conversation between Mars and you, and I will handle the matters of Franks." said the Duke of Burgundy.

"What? You actually peeked at us for a bath?" Arod's face turned green. Seeing Arod, who was calm in the face of danger, was so concerned about this kind of thing. The Duke of Burgundy laughed.

The Duke walked to a corner of the secret room and lifted the brown wool printed curtain. He saw a row of trumpet-mouthed copper tubes hidden behind the curtain. It was obvious that this was an original eavesdropping pipe.

"From here I can know that those people in the castle are not loyal to me," the Duke of Burgundy said to Arod proudly.

"This." Arod thought to himself, your hobby is too strange.

After talking to Arod's secret room, the Duke of Burgundy immediately arrested Professor Mars. The professor seemed to have had a premonition. He sat in his room in gorgeous Italian aristocratic costumes, waiting for the Duke's guards to catch him.

"What happened to my daughter of Professor Mars? I hope you can tell me the truth." The Duke of Burgundy said to Professor Mars in the dungeon. The executioner wearing a black hood stood behind Mars. The executioner held a sharp torture instrument in his hand. Professor Mars was hung in the center of the dungeon, with blue and purple on his face. His naked upper body was covered with whip marks.

"If I told you, can I get my freedom back?" Professor Mars tried hard to open his right eye, which was beaten like a peach, and he said to the Duke.

"Are you negotiating with me?" The Duke of Burgundy smiled. He walked to the wooden table beside him, which was placed on the wooden table with a row of various torture instruments. When the Duke's hand passed by, the torture instruments made a crisp sound of collision.

"Woo." Professor Mars let out a whistle. He didn't know what the Duke's decision was, but his life was indeed hanging on the line.

Mars was unwilling to become a test subject for the Duke's torture instruments, nor was he willing to rot in the dungeons in Burgundy. He finally told the Duke about the incident. It turned out that when Franks was a guest in Florence, he was infected with the disease of the flower willow. Although he had been treated, the medical skills of this era could only be temporarily suppressed and not completely cured, and eventually it was transmitted to the Burgundy Princess.

"So that's how it is." After hearing this, the Duke of Burgundy looked astonished. It turned out that the pain his daughter suffered was all caused by this son-in-law who had a chaotic private life.

"Duke, do we need to formally arrest Francis?" asked the Duke of Burgundy.

"No, there is no need to call Green Noyce." The Duke of Burgundy said to his men with a gloomy face.

"Mr. Green Neus?" The general was slightly surprised, but bowed to the Duke and left.

"Green Neus?" Mars's body trembled involuntarily when he heard this name. The name was the name of the spy leader of the Duke of Burgundy. When people heard this name, they would close their doors and pray to God.

Although Francis set fire in the castle and tried to kill Arod and others, as the Duke's son-in-law, he was only under house arrest in the room for a few days. He drank boredly in the room and could not see anyone except the two servants. Just when Francis lived like a year, he thought that he would be confined to this room from now on, the Duke suddenly removed the guards at the door.

"What happened?" Francis asked in a dim eyes.

"Sir, it seems that the Duke's guard has left." The servant glanced out of the door and said to Francis.

"I'm free?" Francis was excited and stood up. It seemed that Mars had not betrayed himself.

"Sir, what are you doing?" the servant asked curiously as he looked at the energetic Francis.

"Prepare my bath water, I'll take a good bath, and then go hunting, and I'm almost moldy in this room," Francis ordered to his servants.

"But, sir, your charge has not been removed yet. Can you go out for a big trip?" the servant asked worriedly.

"I am the son-in-law of the Duke and the heir of the Earl of Champagne. Who can cure me until there is no conclusive evidence?" Francis said proudly.

"It's Lord Francis." The servant had to go to the stables to prepare horses, hunting dogs, etc. for Francis according to the order.

Francis changed into a new outfit and rode a white horse arrogantly. The servant was waiting aside with a few hunting dogs. Just as he was about to set off, a maid walked to Francis with a basket.

"Dear Master, please bring some apples!" The maid handed the basket on it, which contained a few fresh apples. Francis felt inexplicably.

"Apple?" Francis frowned. Just as he was about to refuse, the maid had already approached.

"Go quickly." The maid bent down and placed the basket in front of Francis, and said in an extremely low voice.

"What?" Francis was puzzled after hearing this. When he was about to call the maid to ask, the maid had turned around and left quickly.

"Master, are we going to set out?" Francis' servant asked him, the hound was already impatient and barking.

"Isn't that the Duke's son-in-law? He was released so soon?" Harvey stood at the window of the princess' bedroom. When she saw the arrogant French in a new outfit, she couldn't help but say to Arod in dissatisfaction.

"Take the potion over, and I need another shot for the princess today." Arod didn't raise his head. He knew very well that the Duke of Burgundy would not let Francis go, so there was no need to be angry.

"Aren't you angry? That bastard almost burned us to death? I'll personally?" While Harvey was complaining, Aruod raised his hand to stop her and pointed at his ear, indicating that they might be monitored again.

"Your Highness the Princess is in a good condition, she will wake up at any time." Aruod said while making gestures in sign language.

"Well, that's right, I really hope the Duke can give me more rewards." Harvey also answered in sign language, but said another set of words.

"Watch the changes." Aruod said in sign language.

Francis felt that hunting was always wrong today. He rode on horseback and the warning of the maid kept hovering in his mind. Even if his hound caught a deer, the Duke of Burgundy seemed to have appeared before his eyes.

"Does the Duke know?" Francis felt a cold back, and his heart pounded wildly. What should he do if Professor Mars betrayed him?

As he thought about it, Francis had no leisure to hunt anymore. He suddenly felt that he had been away from the Duke of Burgundy's castle. His eyes turned and his plans came to his mind, and he suddenly kicked his mount with his heel.

"Grey Rule~." The mount hissed, and the man stood up and ran wildly in the woods with Francis. The direction he escaped was the territory of the Kingdom of West Frank, and the direction of his father's Earl of Champagne.

"Master Francis, Master Francis." He was holding a wooden stick and a shield in his hand and frightened the animals in the forest and drove them out. The servants who were hunting for the nobles looked at the running Francis in surprise. They hurriedly chased after them, but they could not catch up with the Francis riding on horseback.

"Huhu, I won't wait for death." Francis' body was lying on the horse's back, and he ran away regardless of whether he was a duke or son-in-law or a wealth or awesomeness was as important as his life.

"Swoosh~." Just as he was about to see the border of the Principality of Burgundy, an arrow broke through the air and shot straight towards Francis.
