Section 30: Billis Retreat
There is only the ticking sound of water in the darkness, and the only light comes from a gap between a rock above the head. Harvey and the blood droplets have been imprisoned for several days, as if they were forgotten by the whole world. A hole of the size of a fist chiseled on the ground is the place for excretion, so there is a burst of urine and stench here. The harsh environment cannot be supported without tough nerves.
However, Harvey's calmness stabilized the morale of the others, but even Harvey began to shake his heart, a commotion rang outside the cell where they were imprisoned. Harvey's body curled in the wet corner trembled slightly, and she opened her eyes and narrowed her eyes from under her hood to look at the door.
"Bang~~~." Suddenly, the prison door made of an iron fence was pushed open. Billis stood in front of them wearing a blood-stained armor. His face was as ferocious as a ghost from hell, and he was holding a blood-stained sword in his hand.
"Well, Lord Harvey." The blood droplets all stood in front of Harvey nervously. They thought Billis was here to kill them, so they instinctively stood up.
"Don't move." Harvey put down his hood and said to his other companions.
"You said you represent Arod, so tell me what plans do you have now?" Billis ignored the blood droplets blocking his face. His eyes were wide open and he stared at Harvey in the head and asked her loudly.
"Oh." Harvey looked at Billis' anxious look. It seemed that Billis and Kang Tuoyi had fallen into a bad situation. Only in this way would this heroic person be so anxious.
Kang Tuoyi's surprise attack caught the mountain lords off guard. Under the guidance of the traitor, a elite army of Kang Tuoyi bypassed the normal route of setting traps. The elite troops sent by Kang Tuoyi attacked the mountain lords from a place with a steep but weak defense, and he personally led a large force to attack from the front. After two attacks, the soldiers of the downhill lords suffered heavy losses.
"Kill~." Billis was wearing a heavy iron scale armor without any helmet. His sword was dancing in his hand, and he stabbed a soldier from Kang Tuoyi who rushed to him with a high altitude to kill him. He shook his wrist and pulled out the sword. At the same time, he kicked the corpse with his right foot, and then smashed the others who were climbing upwards.
"Billis, we must withdraw from here and move northward." Harvey also waved the dagger in his hand. She grabbed the arm of a Contoyi soldier, pulled it closer to the sharp dagger and cut her throat. She said to Billis while fighting. The cave was already full of enemy soldiers. The situation was very dangerous.
"Okay, come with me." Billis was familiar with the road here. He waved his hand and led Harvey and the blood droplets into the vines and woods. The remaining soldiers of the mountain lords also fought and retreated, but they were soon either destroyed or fled farther away.
The road to escape is very difficult. Kang Tuoyi will not stop if he doesn't catch him or see Billis's body. The tribal leaders are also eager to capture this former lord. If Billis cannot be killed, they will always have the identity of a traitor. If Billis makes a comeback that day, those who follow Kang Tuoyi will inevitably suffer fierce revenge.
"What? I haven't found it yet." Kang Tuoyi stood in front of the camp, and there were constant messengers shuttled back and forth. Although the killing mountain lord's heads were sent one by one, there was no whereabouts of Billis he was looking for. This made him frown.
"Please rest assured, we will definitely find him. Now there are no two soldiers under him." The tribal leader advised Kang Tuoyi.
"Mr. Jeremy, we wouldn't have defeated Billis so quickly without your son's help. I would remember this credit, but I still hope you will tell us where Billis would run?" Kang Tuoyi turned around and asked Jeremy who was tied up.
"Um." Blood flowed from the corner of Jeremy's mouth. His head was covered with dust, but he still tried hard to straighten his body, staring at Kang Tuoyi without saying a word, while his youngest son was crying aside.
"Don't say it, right? Don't forget the charge of having an affair with the Lords of the Mountain, but your former position cannot be exempted from being punished." Kang Tuoyi looked at the spy leader who served him. Anyone who hindered his internal power was an enemy, and he narrowed his eyes and stared at Jeremy.
"I don't know." Jeremy's body shook for a moment, and he said to Kang Tuoyi stubbornly.
"Then there is nothing to do. Someone comes to send him to see the gods." Kang Tuoyi shook his head, and he frowned and ordered to his guards.
"Wait, Lord Kang Tuoyi, you said you would let my father go." Jeremy's youngest son begged Kang Tuoyi with tears in his eyes.
"That's right, but your father doesn't cooperate with me." Kang Tuoyi said.
"I'll tell you everything I know, please let him go." Jeremy's youngest son said quickly.
"Shut up, let him kill me." Jeremy shouted at his son, but the guards next to him immediately covered his mouth with his hands and forced him to kneel on the soil.
"There are a group of travelers from Mecklenburg who said they were here to find Billis, so I think Lord Billis must have gone to Mecklenburg."
"Mecklenburg, how is it possible? They could not pass through the entire Watergast. The direction was not right at all." The tribal leader on the side sneered and retorted. It was impossible to break through the encirclement and cross the entire territory without being discovered under the heavy encirclement of thousands of troops.
"No." Kang Tuoyi stretched out his right hand to shut up the leader. After frowning and thinking for a while, he suddenly raised his head and looked at the guard beside him, "Immediately send someone to block the north coastline."
"Northern coastline, oh, Lord Kangtuoyi, do you mean they want to escape by sea?" The tribe leader was not stupid and immediately reacted. It is true that if the Mecklenburgers sent a fleet to land on the coast, Billis would have the possibility of escape, but were the Mecklenburgers really that bold? This is Kangtuoyi's territory. Once they land in Watergast, they would be surrounded by thousands of troops.
"The guy from Arod is possible to do anything." Kang Tuoyi's eyes turned to the West. Arod built a fortress in Mecklenburg in a short time. Although no one knew how he did it, Kang Tuoyi would never underestimate this opponent anymore.
Just as Kang Tuoyi valued his enemy, Arud would never dare to underestimate this heroic opponent. He sat in the council hall in Mecklenburg, with a simple sand table in front of him. Several people dressed in merchants were standing aside with fear. They were just ordinary travel merchants, but when Arud heard that they had been to Watergast, he immediately summoned them.
"Haha, don't panic, I just wanted to know about Watergast's situation, so I invited you." A kind smile appeared on Arod's face, and he said to those travel merchants who had a low status and rarely saw a great noble.
"May God bless you, the noble Count, we are willing to serve you in 120,000." Hearing that Arod wanted to seek their help, these ragged travel merchants breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, the travel merchants are not easy to be good. Sometimes, for the sake of making a living, they will inevitably deal with some stealing bandits, so they will inevitably be dirty and so on. Of course, this is a violation of the law in any territory.
"Well, come and see, is this map suitable for the actual situation?" Aruod asked these traveling merchants to come forward and ordered the servants to pour a glass of wine for each of them, which made these merchants who were traveling around the world flattered.
"Woo, this seems to be part of the Watergast coastline." The merchant who had been there immediately recognized the sand table. He once walked on the coastal cliff with a wooden stick and a cane. He looked at it and looked exactly the same as the sand table, but at this time he saw it in the meeting hall of the Earl of Mecklenburg, which was quite strange and surprised.
"That's right." Aruod was relieved when he heard the sand table and reality. This was gradually pieced together by the intelligence network and the spies' paintings, and it can be said that it was hard-won.
"However, during this period of sea water, many rocks will be revealed. If a ship appears and you don't know, you may hit the reef." A traveler once took a boat to Watergast. He held his wine glass in his hands and said after stroking his head from behind the crowd.
"Oh, is that?" Arude's eyes widened. Fortunately, he asked someone to find these merchants. Otherwise, if there was no such information, the ships he had eliminated would not have been stranded on the coastline. Arude remembered that the tides were related to the moon, and it would be enough to pass at high tide.
In the conference hall, the merchants were talking and modifying the sand table, and finally trying to fit the subtleties on the sand table as appropriate as possible. When the sand table was finally completed in front of Arod, Earl Ifu, the flag-master of the Teutonic Knights, walked in. He looked at the ragged travel merchants who suddenly appeared in the conference hall, and couldn't help but frowned, not knowing what Arod was doing.
"Okay, thank you for your help. Now my servants will take you down and arrange delicious meals for you in my kitchen. I hope you will be happy in Mecklenburg." Arod sent away these travel merchants, and then let Ifu walk to the front of the sand table.
"Are Arod's ship ready?" If knew that Arod was going to transport Teutonic Knights and soldiers to Watergast County by sea. However, Arod had not yet exposed the matter of Billis to If. On the one hand, he was afraid that the wind would leak, and on the other hand, he was not sure whether Harvey could persuade Billis to go to the northern coastline of Watergast.
