Chapter 11. The Rabbit and the Bear

The girl sat panting by the bonfire. There were several thin bloodshots of blood cut by the trees on her pale face, and there were also several more cuts on her clothes. She simply wore quite a lot so that the wind would not leak in.

"You should be glad that the bear is not hungry, otherwise you will not be able to run out."

Cyril took his gaze from the endless darkness. For some reason, although there was no bonus to the wanderer's dark vision, darkness did not interfere with him.

For a low-level adventurer, this is undoubtedly the most wonderful skill to go out. Although Cyril was curious, he did not have a way to delve into the reasons. He could only enjoy the benefits of a novice going out first.

He looked at Caroline quietly. There was not much discouragement on her face, but instead stared at the rabbit on the bonfire in front of her with enthusiasm....

In order to hunt down the two rabbits, Caroline accidentally broke into the territory of a giant bear. Cyril could not even realize that this was already the territory of a giant creature. When he saw the giant bear with spotted white fur and light blue patterns, he couldn't help but burst into cold sweat.

It was a very typical ice-skin blue-patterned bear. Although this name looks very unintentional, it is undeniable that it has extremely strong combat power.

It has thick skin and thick flesh, extremely high magic resistance and physical resistance, the high power value of the bear itself, and the hysteresis effect of the small ice and snow field it carries, is a very difficult monster to deal with.

This type of bear is not a native creature in La Rochelle. It usually appears on the endless ice fields north of the Maitland Mountains. They are often kept by the undead and used to transport supplies. They are also very good combat power.

Cyrill once mingled north of the Maitlands for a long time, so he naturally knew this creature very well...

He took out the seasoning and sprinkled it on the roasted golden and plump rabbit meat - it was made from freshly ground herbs found in the pine forest bushes, which gave the food a numb, spicy, fresh, salty taste, and delicious and wine-filled. Cyril learned the recipe for this seasoning from a dwarf, and there was also the method of brewing du fruit wine - unfortunately the dwarf was swallowed into the belly by a swamp dragon, and his bones remained.

The girl's eyes were lit, staring at the rabbit meat that was glistening in the flames. The fragrance of the seasoning was completely stimulated under the heat, making her unable to help but raise her head and her nose wings gently stoke, trying to inhale as much as possible inhalation of some fragrance.

"Here. Don't run around next time."

Cyril didn't feel much appetite and handed the rabbit to Caroline. The girl cheered and then ate hard. Even if her tongue and lips were scalded and spicy, she needed to breathe cold air to relieve it, she was unwilling to stop tearing the rabbit's meat.

As for Cyril's words, did she listen to it...

Will you dare to do it next time?

Cyril held his cheek and looked at Caroline who was hungry and hadn't eaten for three days, but he was still thinking about the ice-skinned blue-patterned bear.

This is the third day they entered the pine leaf forest. The journey has been halfway through and they have arrived at the area in the middle of the pine leaf forest. There are many traces of monster activities along the way, but they are all very obvious. You can ensure safety by walking around a little bit.

But this time it is different - what are the characteristics of wild ice-skin blue-patterned bears? When these arrogant creatures hibernate, they will clear obstacles in the surrounding areas, including the rest of the bushes and shrubs, and leave a lot of feces. Because of their cold magic, the bear feces will remain in their original state and will not be damaged by wind and snow.

At the end of February and early March, it is the time when the ice-skinned blue-patterned bear hibernation and awakening. If this is a local bear in the pine-leaf forest, its hibernation environment obviously does not comply with the above rules...

Damn it, how did you travel to the game and your sensitivity to various clues has decreased?

Cyril suddenly realized something, and he stood up suddenly and took away the second rabbit that had been half gnawed in Caroline's hand. The girl froze and looked at the roasted rabbit in Cyril's hand, but saw that he had put out the bonfire and threw the two small luggage bags she was responsible for in her arms.

She quickly reacted, hurriedly carried her luggage, kicked the dirt, and helped Cyril cover the traces of the bonfire, and asked softly:

"Mr. Adrien, is there a monster close to you?"

"Hurry on the way." Seeing that the traces were almost the same, Cyril reached out to help Caroline adjust the position of the downward bag, and returned the rabbit to her, "Have it while walking."

After practicing in the three-day jungle journey, Caroline knew what to do even though she was a little clumsy. She followed Cyril half a step behind, leaving enough room for Cyril to swing.

Seeing that Cyril held the knight's sword that had not been pulled out several times in his hand, the little blacksmith girl's face also became a little more serious. She just took out the broken sword like a dagger from her arms, but Cyril scolded her:

"Take it back, I'm afraid you'll stab me."

Caroline silently wrapped the broken sword back into Brie and put it in her arms.

They moved forward quickly, Cyril stopped several times, confirming the traces of the bushes and soil on the ground, and the results were as bad as he thought-

The bear was not an indigenous person, but an advance force of a dead soul. Cyril had seen such an undead. Although there were few people, they already had a certain degree of wisdom and were much more difficult to deal with than ordinary undead spirits.

It is not surprising that the undead appeared within the La Rochelle border, but this time node was much earlier than he thought.

Tapu Town is the closest La Rochelle station to the Maitland Mountains. It takes only seven days to capture Tapu Town after the undead crosses the Maitland Mountains.

However, an undead advance team has been able to penetrate deep into the periphery of La Rochelle's central circle, which means that the undead's speed of deep into La Rochelle is faster than Cyril's game history.

Cyril thought so, but found that the mud footprints on the ground were extremely messy, overwhelming the bushes and extending toward them. He signaled Caroline to lighten his steps, and the movements of the two of them were suddenly slowed to the extreme and touched forward.

There were bursts of shouts and metal collisions in the wind, which seemed to be mixed with the cry of women. They went further and saw the flames flashing between the torso of thick trees, as well as the white bones that were moving rustling.

"Mr. Adrien, someone was attacked by a skeleton!"

Of course, Caroline saw it, and she recognized that these skeletons that were attacking humans were no different from those monsters that broke into Tap Town and snatched away from peace. Excited, she even grabbed Cyril's sleeve, shook it hard, and shouted while trying to suppress her voice-

But one finger gently touched her lips.

She raised her head in confusion. She could only see the outline of Cyril Adrien's face in the hazy light. The elf's unique pointed ears were its most prominent sign, and the rest of the colors were swallowed up by the darkness. Only when the light of the battle not far away was lit up.

But those eyes as green as deep as a pond were not swallowed by the darkness. They stared at the girl's face as if they wanted to get the most loyal affirmation-

"Carolyn, I want you to promise me something."

"From now on, no matter who asks you about the undead or magic, don't reveal what you can do, and don't try to do it."

His low voice blew into the girl's ears in the wind, scattering one by one. Caroline wanted to open her mouth and say something, but in the end she just nodded.

Cyril took a deep breath. He kept not mentioning Caroline's talent for necromancers. When they were alone, Caroline was very obedient, and even if he was curious, he would not ask too much.

But when you come into contact with outsiders, you will inevitably let it go - he doesn't want Caroline's talent to be exposed to others' eyes.

Otherwise, wouldn’t the ace I had saved from the northern border with hard work, and wouldn’t it be that others would rob me halfway?

"Stay here and wait for me to come back."

Cyril pulled his hand back and slapped Caroline. The broken sword slid into his palm, rubbing the hilt and edge of the palm. This rough touch made the weapon seem to have become a part of his body.
