Chapter 34 Mercenary Relics

On a pouring rainy night, the lonely boy cried loudly in front of the burnt courtyard.

The boy didn't realize that someone was approaching him. When the big hand fell on his shoulder, Arthur shivered and shivered.

Feeling that the hands on his shoulders did not exert force, Arthur slowly turned his head, and what caught his eyes was the face of a fat woman.

"Aunt Nightingale." Arthur hurriedly wiped his tears.

"Follow me." Nightingale said nothing, pulled Arthur and left.

Arthur was pulled through the streets and alleys quickly. The Nightingale didn't say a word along the way. Arthur couldn't help asking several times and was stopped by the Nightingale.

The Nightingale led Arthur to the back door of a back street and alley before stopping.

Arthur remembered that this was the back door of Nightingale's Bar.

He led Arthur into a spacious and warmly decorated room. After inserting the door bolt, Nightingale hugged Arthur tightly, regardless of the wetness of Arthur, "My child, it's so good, you are still alive! There are still people living in the 'Blue Virgin'!"

Arthur was a little embarrassed by the surging rush on Aunt Nightingale's chest, and turned his face and looked at the arrangement in the room with his eyes.

This place is obviously Nightingale's boudoir, and even the gauze curtains on the bed are pink. Only the two swords hanging across the side walls suggest the identity of Nightingale's mercenary back then.

Although Nightingale has become a middle-aged woman, the layout in the room is still full of the aura of a little woman. It seems that it is not a rumor that Nightingale was pursued by countless men when she was young.

"Tell me, are Cairns and the others still alive? How did you survive?"

Although Nightingale was not a member of the mercenary group, he seemed particularly close to the mercenaries of Blue Ancestor and liked Arthur even more. Arthur also regarded Aunt Nightingale as half a relative, so he started from the encounter when he entered the mountains until he was ambushed in the canyon, and told him one by one to Nightingale.

When Cairns, Adeline, Angus and others all died in the Sauron Canyon, Nightingale couldn't help but shed tears and sighed constantly.

"Aunt Nightingale, are Deputy Commander Randle and Tony still alive? Who burned our mercenary group again?" This is the question Arthur wanted to ask Nightingale several times along the way.

Nightingale sighed and said, "No one of the people left behind in the mercenary group survived. The burnt corpse was finally restrained by the city lord's mansion. I think Randall should be inside. As for Tony, he had never come back at all. The murderer left no trace, but I guess it should be the same group of people as the black-clad murderers who ambushed you in Sauron Canyon."

Think about it, that killer organization secretly followed the mercenary group all the way, how could it allow Tony and others to survive?

Arthur's emotions were immersed in grief, and he lowered his head and never spoke again.

"You haven't eaten yet, I'll get you something to eat in front." After saying that, Nightingale turned around and went out, leaving the boy alone for a while, perhaps more effective than comforting words.

Before long, Nightingale brought a large plate of juicy potato beef, served with rye bread, and a large ale.

Tempting food has the effect of soothing sorrow, not to mention Arthur, who had been hungry in the mountains for more than a month.

Sitting aside and quietly watching Arthur who was eating voraciously, the Nightingale smiled.

"Aunt Nightingale, how could you happen to be near our mercenary group headquarters?" Arthur asked while eating.

"Auntie runs a bar. As long as you are interested, you can get any information as soon as you want. Don't think you are smart. Someone noticed your traces as soon as you enter the city, so I guess I will definitely return to the mercenary group first."

Speaking of this, Nightingale's face suddenly became serious, "You must leave immediately after eating. It's too dangerous here! If those who ambush you know that the 'Blue Virgin' and others survive, they will definitely not let you go!"

Arthur was stunned, then lowered his head weakly and whispered: "But where can I go?"

"Go to the royal city, it's much safer there." Nightingale said, pushing a small rectangular wooden box to Arthur.

"Give it to me?"

"It was Randall left to you."

Arthur stood up excitedly, "So Uncle Randle is still alive?"

Nightingale took Arthur's hand and asked him to sit down, "It was placed here before that thing. He might have had a premonition that he put the things in my place in case of accidents. This has happened before, so I didn't care. After that happened to the mercenary group, I thought no one survived, so I opened the box, and at least one of them was left to you by Randall."

Arthur opened the box with his hands trembling.

The one placed at the top is an envelope with gold edges, and two account books are placed under it. Arthur has seen the account book, which is used for Randall's daily accounting, and records all the daily financial income and expenditure of the mercenary group.

There are also several crystal cards the size of business cards under the account book. The surface of the cards has a strange luster, as if there is energy substance flowing inside. Arthur counted and there were five in total.

"Is it because of these things in the box that attracted those mysterious killers?" Arthur looked at Nightingale with confusion.

Nightingale shook her head, "I have flipped the account book and didn't record anything important. Those cards you have never seen before are called crystal coins, each one is worth one thousand gold coins. In our Huaores, the money is also considered a huge sum of money, but in the eyes of those big forces, this little money is not worth mentioning at all. As for the letter above, you can open it yourself."

Pull out the letter and write it in just a few lines on a light green piece of paper.

This paper is called Huanhuaniao, which is a precious paper commonly used by great nobles and wealthy people.

Arthur has learned a lot from Randall over the years and knows that this is a letter of recommendation to the Royal Academy of Bloody Isaac Kingdom. The person recommended is Arthur Hillo, and the person recommended is Keno Patrick. It also has a family heraldry stamped with a stag avatar.

After reading the letter, Arthur was still confused, "Who are these two people in the letter? Does it have anything to do with me?"

Nightingale couldn't help laughing, "Silly boy, you are Arthur Hillo. Hillo, that's Cairns' family surname. I think he gave you his last name."

In the continent of Belland, whether human or beast, only noble families with ancient heritage have surnames. Common people only have names and do not allow themselves to add surnames without being given by royal or nobles.

"As for that Keno Patrick, I don't know who it is, but he must be a big shot. The surname Patrick is one of the four major clans of the Kingdom."
