Chapter 368 The Mysterious Master

Along with this sound, a figure walked out of the opened door. This was also a monk. He was wearing rags, straw sandals on his feet, and the big toe of his right foot was exposed...

This monk is fat and has a round belly.

A string of Buddhist beads hangs around his neck.

That's all. He was still holding half a chicken leg in his right hand. There were still bite marks on the drumstick, and the monk's mouth was also shiny...

If Dong Qian were here, he would be able to recognize at a glance that this monk was the master he had met before, and the master who gave him instructions, and that he was the master of the world!

Seeing this person, the monk before and the monk holding a long stick in the courtyard all saluted him.

"Meet the abbot,"

"Abbot? This great monk is the abbot?"

Not only Wang Kang, but also Zhou Qing and others were shocked. This image didn't look like a monk at all, but he was still the host?

Wang Kang widened his eyes and looked at the great monk. He grabbed the chicken leg and took a big bite. His mouth was full of oil and he asked in surprise: "Monk still eats meat?"

After hearing this, the great monk ate up the chicken legs in his hands, threw the bones away casually, touched the oil on his lips with his hand, and said: "The wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Lord Buddha retains them in his heart."

"I have a Buddha in my heart, so why should I stick to these inaction forms?"

"Are you really the abbot of this small temple?" Wang Kang asked curiously.

"There is no temple big or small, only Buddha."

The great monk nodded and said: "I am the abbot of this temple..."

"I wonder, Master, what is the name of the Dharma?" Li Qingman suddenly asked at this time.

"The name is just a title... You can call me whatever you want," the monk said with a smile, "But I quite like the title Master."

Hearing this, Li Qingman was slightly startled. Looking at this great monk, she always felt a little strange, as if she could not see through him.

The same is true for Wang Kang. The man in front of him looks like everything except a monk.

Especially when he was saying a few Zen words, he felt that they didn't match. However, it was undeniable that this monk's quality was a bit higher than that of the previous monk...

"Abbott, this group of people wanted to occupy our temple before, and now they are here again, plotting against us..."

The monk looked at Wang Kang and said: "I don't think there is any need to talk nonsense with him, just drive him away with sticks."

Hearing this, Wang Kang sneered and said: "What? You can't talk about Zen, but you want to fight with force? Do you really think I'm afraid of you?"

"My people did offend me before, but you may have been too harsh!"

The monk looked unhappy. His previous discussion on Zen was undermined by Wang Kang's few words, which made him very unwilling. He said directly: "Then let's give it a try..."

"Don't talk about good things," the great monk stopped the monk, "Don't underestimate this young man, he is really not afraid of us."

"Do you know me?" Wang Kang asked doubtfully.

"At the foot of Yuntai Mountain, the lord of Xinfeng County,"

The monk narrowed his eyes and said with a smile: "Speaking of which, we also have some connections..."

Before Wang Kang could speak, he continued: "The little benefactor came here because he took a fancy to this piece of bitter grass in my temple courtyard..."

"In this case, why don't we discuss Zen and make a decision?"

After hearing this, Wang Kang sneered and said, "Master, are you trying to regain your face?"

"No, the little donor misunderstood,"

The monk smiled and said: "The donor's preface is quite insightful and thoughtful. I just want to discuss it with you, monk."

"If I win, will you give me this piece of bitter grass?"

Monk Shanneng said directly: "What do you mean? Do you think you can still judge the abbot?"

The other monks also looked angry, but they felt that Wang Kang was really too arrogant.

But Wang Kang ignored him. He turned his head and saw a Buddhist sail in the courtyard, moving with the wind...

He looked at the great monk and said, "The wind is blowing and the sail is blowing. Does the master feel that the wind is moving or the sail is moving?"

"No need to ask more?" Monk Shanneng said coldly: "Of course it's the wind!"

"Yes, the wind blows the sail, of course the wind moves it,"

Other monks also agreed.

"No!" Wang Kang shook his head.

The abbot of the temple, the great monk, had deep eyes, as if he was thinking about something.

"Could it be that the flags are moving?" the great monk murmured, "That's not right either."

Wang Kang smiled directly and said: "It's not the flags that move, it's not the wind that moves, it's the heart of a benevolent person... that moves!"

After these words fell, everyone was shocked!

It's not the flags or the wind, it's your heart beating. When your heart runs away, you realize that you are completely lost.

This allusion also comes from the Sixth Patriarch Huineng.

The great monk suddenly understood and looked at Wang Kang with deep eyes.

The several monks and monks around them looked extremely ugly.

How to talk about Zen, this first word has already failed.

The great monk took a deep breath and said, "People in the world often pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Why does Guanyin Bodhisattva also hang a string of rosary beads? Who is Guanyin Bodhisattva praying for?"

"Please pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva!" Wang Kang naturally attained enlightenment.

"Ha ha!"

The monk finally caught the opportunity and laughed and said: "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva prays to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, can you say this?"

"Isn't this a contradiction?"

The great monk also squinted his eyes, "What does the donor think?"

Wang Kang said in a deep voice: "Because Guanyin Bodhisattva knows better than us, it is better to seek help from others than from yourself!"

"well said!"

"What Master Kang said is absolutely true."

But the good monk is dull.

The great monk had no expression on his face and asked again: "How many rooms are there in life?"

A young monk subconsciously said: "In a few days,"

Another young monk said: "The dining room."

Wang Kang smiled slightly and said: "Life is in the breath."

"Good thing, this is life," the great monk said with a smile.

After asking and answering, the other monks were speechless at this moment. They all understood that Wang Kang did not understand, but understood very well.

At this time, Wang Kang said: "I also have something to ask you."

"Donor please say,"

Wang Kang pointed to the front of the house and carried a few words engraved on it: The body is a bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror stand. Always brush it diligently to prevent it from causing dust.

"Who said and wrote these sentences?"

"This is what our abbot wrote, Zen is the way to seek the Buddha," Shanneng said.

"This is also the way of Zen we want to learn."

Shanneng continued: The body is like the bodhi tree that made the predecessors enlightened, and the mind is like a spotless and bright mirror.

"Constantly look at yourself and don't let dirt obscure your bright nature!"

The original intention is also to make it clear that although this temple is small, it is also a pure place and does not allow outsiders to disturb it.

Shanneng also pointed out something else when he said it. This is a temple. How can we allow you to mess around? He doesn't want this to become a filthy place.

These few sentences are really clever, even Zhou Qing and others don't realize how clever they are.

At this time, the great monk looked at Wang Kang and asked: "These sentences are indeed written by me. I wonder what the little donor has to say?"
