038 Uninvited Guest

"...I'm not surprised at all. Young people are always like this. They finally win opportunities, so they naturally want to perform well and prove that their tactics are correct. This is not uncommon. After watching too many Hollywood movies, they always fantasize that they can turn the tide and save the entire team."

"Or it's a proud guy who thinks that our defensive tactics cannot win at all. He is the savior to save the team."

"But he did. He is now the hero of the entire city."

"Hero? Hero who has stopped after bursting out once?"

"Don't talk like this. Young people are still energetic. How could it be possible for them to explode at least three times... Wait, are you guys thinking randomly? How could someone as upright as me have such dirty thoughts? I mean, he got three touchdowns."

"Ha ha!"

The whole office laughed collectively, and jokes between men could always resonate easily, but not everyone was joking. Mo Latimer and David Robert did not join the crowd - of course, they did not stop harmless jokes.

The main reason is that the Kansas State University Wildcats' coaching team has not yet completed the running-in.

Given the complexity and variability of the rugby tactical system, the head coach needs more time to build the entire tactical system based on his own ideas. Once the system is determined, it will often become the framework and foundation of a team. It may take three to five seasons to realize all the head coach's ideas, which also makes the frequency of changes in the position of the rugby head coach relatively low.

The Wildcats are no exception.

Before Long Pres joined last year, Bill Schneider served as the team's head coach for seventeen years!

Schneider, who is 68 years old this year, has a lack of talent in his career. He has only played as a substitute in college and has a very complicated position. From quarterback to the second-tier defense, he has tried more or less in every position, basically a patched role. After changing to become a coach, he did not show his extraordinary talent. He has worked hard in different coach positions for twenty-two years before he finally became a head coach. The person who knew the keen eyes was Jon Wifald, the current president of Kansas State University.

In the Wildcats, Schneider created a series of legendary records:

His career was 136 wins, 68 losses and 1 draw, and his winning numbers were exactly the same as the Wildcats' total number from the establishment of the team in 1935 to Schneider in 1988. In addition, he led the team and entered the NCAA Bowl, which symbolized the playoffs for 11 years, including six victories.

The only regret is that the six bowl games won are not covered by the champions of any of the four major bowl games.

ncaa has competitions in multiple levels and multiple competition areas, but there are only four top-level champions in the first category: sugar bowl, rose bowl, orange bowl, and festive bowl. The Wildcats have won the Texas bowl, holiday bowl, cotton bowl, etc., but have never reached the top of the four major bowl competitions.

Not to mention the unique national champion above the bowl game.

Despite this, Schneider still left a rich legacy in this team. After the 2005 season, Schneider decided to officially retire. In order to show respect and admiration, the school decided to officially rename the home court to the Bill Schneider Family Stadium, in order to thank Schneider and his family for their efforts over the years.

After Schneider retired, the Wildcats coaching staff had to completely reshuffle the cards and then faced the long pain period before the resurgence.

Last year, head coach Ron Pres, offensive coordinator Lu Yiqi, quarterback coach Dave Brock, wide receiver coach Osgood Phillips, offensive forward coach Tim McCarty and others joined, and the coaching composition of the entire offensive team was reorganized.

Among them, Long Pres was a offensive front coach and had been an offensive front coach for thirteen years before. The Wildcats were his first time to become a head coach.

This year, all coaches in the defensive team were replaced, defensive forward coaches, cornerback coaches, safety guard coaches, and defensive tactical coaches, etc., and hired a group of brand new coaches to form a brand new team and start from scratch.

Except for defensive coordinator Latimer and linebacker coach Robert, all the other coaches are new colleagues who have just joined this offseason. It has only been four months since they are running in.

In other words, the Wildcats coaching staff members are all "newcomers" in the first or second year. They are just cooperative relationships in the workplace, and tacit understanding has not been cultivated. Whether in the office or the court, the overall atmosphere is far from harmonious, let alone chemical reactions, sparks are gone.

As the only veteran in the entire coaching staff, Mo Latimer's position became special.

In a nutshell, Latimer spent one year more time in the Wildcats than the current principal, Wifalder - although the first four years were just interns, and it was not until Schneider took office that Latimer was appreciated and actually joined the coaching staff; but the twenty-two years of working years are enough to show that there are too many things.

This is a good thing, but it is also a bad thing. It mainly depends on the head coach's attitude and way of dealing with things.

From the current perspective, Pres and Latimer maintain a simple working relationship that respects each other. Anyway, Pres is better at offense, while Latimer is responsible for defense. Although there are overlapping parts of the work, there is no frontal conflict of interest, and even some differences of opinion are not fierce.

In the past year, the two of them have been calm and peaceful, but they lack chemical reactions, which can be seen from the team's record.

As for Latimer in the defensive team office, he has never interfered too much but has never been integrated into it. He doesn't know whether it is waiting and inspecting, or because of his personality, or there are other reasons.

"Knock!"

Latimer tapped the table with his knuckles, and the crisp sound calmed down the talk of his mouth. Everyone knew that this was a signal that the meeting was about to begin.

"Let's analyze the video of the previous game first." Latimer said.

Robert was ready to pull up the curtains, open the projector, connect to the computer, and start playing videos against Auburn University. They must summarize the problems from the gains and losses of the previous game, and make adjustments based on the player's status, and then they will be the opponents to study the next game and prepare for the arrangement of troops.

"... I'll replay the part just now. Is it because the front is not staring at someone, or the back is not stuck?"

"The offensive team's tactics have been significantly adjusted here, why has our defensive formation not kept up?"

"No, right, we should not look at the left duel, but on the right. Have you noticed it? The fake action here on the right? Cox obviously made a fake action, diverted our attention, and then there was a clear counterpoint deviation. It was here, right!"

The game video analysis meeting had just begun. Not long after, "Yaya", the door of the office room was gently pushed open, and then a figure walked in with his waist.
Chapter completed!
