Chapter 1326 Banweulu Lake, Mundavanga Botanical Garden!

In the next few days, everyone stayed in Zambia for a few more days!

I went to visit the scenic spots such as Lake Tanganyika, Lake Banweiwulu, Mondawanga Botanical Garden and other places!

Although Lake Tanganyika is spectacular, the most worth mentioning is the abundant freshwater fish in the lake!

Especially the most popular crucian carp, whether it is cooked according to the locals’ roast or stewed crucian carp soup, it is very delicious!

And it is worth mentioning that the ecological environment around Lake Tanganyika!

The ecological environment around Lake Tanganyika is very humid, which completely changed Zhao Feng and his group's impression of Africa's barren and drought!

What's more, everyone has seen the spectacular Victoria Falls before!

On Lake Tanganyika, people saw many birds endemic to Africa. In fact, Lake Tanganyika is also known as the kingdom of birds!

Because they are not only numerous, but also have many species, including white-breasted crows, red-throated birds, turtled doves, egrets, yellow warblers, gray storks, parrots... etc. The most famous ones are the red cranes, which are commonly known as flamingos!

Red crane has long necks and feet, a thick and short mouth and slightly curved. The white feathers on its body shine with a light pink luster. It is as thin as a crane, but more beautiful than a crane.

In addition to these creatures as beautiful as angels, Zhao Feng and his group also saw hippos and crocodiles by the lake. These two groups were hundreds of meters away. A crocodile even left the group and went to the hippo to try to hunt. However, soon the thick skin and huge and heavy body of the hippo told how difficult it was to mess with the crocodile!

Soon the crocodile ran back in shame!

In addition to crocodiles and hippos, there are many other animals on the narrow and long lake shore, such as elephants, lions, antelopes, giraffes, etc. that everyone has seen before!

It shows a vibrant scene!

Another thing worth mentioning is that the local tour guide introduced the vegetation in the areas around Lake Tanganyika!

Around Lake Tanganyika, forests are lush and various tropical trees are growing in competition.

The most eye-catching thing is that the banana forest is continuous and lush. The heavy bananas are mouth-watering, and the farmhouse thatched huts are hidden in the banana forest.

Bananas are not only one of the staple foods of local residents, but also banana wine made from bananas is a traditional beverage for local residents. Banana wine is not high in terms of its flavor and tastes sweet and delicious. People with large alcohol content can drink two or three kilograms a day. In some places, people drink banana wine as water.

Everyone also tasted some of this banana wine in the restaurant resting on the roadside!

Does this wine taste a bit unique, and the taste is not bad!

There is no problem trying something new!

In addition, there is a kind of tree of strange shape. This tree is different from ordinary trees. It has no branches or broken leaves. At the top of the slender and strong trunk, there are long, green and dripping broad leaves. These broad leaves do not spread around like ordinary trees. They just stretch neatly to both sides, like open-close peacocks and spreading fans. This is the famous traveler tree, and some people call it "peacock tree" and "fan tree".

There are countless other tropical plants!

Zhao Feng and his group really felt a little dazzled during this trip, so there were quite a lot of photos taken!

And the subsequent Lake Banweiwulu did not disappoint Zhao Feng and his group!

Compared with the well-known Lake Tanganyika, Lake Banweiwulu seems not to be well-known, but as more and more scenery is seen by more people, this beautiful lake has also attracted more attention!

Lake Banveulu, Banveulu moorland and Banveulu Plain are located in the Apula province of Zambia, Africa and the upper reaches of the Congo River in the northern province, with an altitude of 1,140 meters. Together they form the world's largest wetland system and one of the most important ecosystems in the world.

Lake Banveulu is the main system of the Banveulu wetlands, with an average depth of 4 meters and an area of about 3,000 square kilometers, but at the end of the rainy season in May, it increased to 15,000 square kilometers due to the submersion of the Banveulu moor and the Banveulu plains; the Banveulu moor is usually slightly larger than Lake Banveulu, with an area of about 9,000 square kilometers, and is submerged in the rainy season to become part of the Banveulu wetland system.

The swamp is full of dense vegetation, which plays an extremely important role in protecting the Luapura Valley from floods and floods. The Banveulu Plain covers an area of about 3,000 square kilometers. It is submerged during the rainy season and becomes an important part of the Banveulu wetland system, but it is usually covered with green grass during the dry season, making it a good place to graz.

The Banveulu Wetland System area is home to many precious wild animals and birds, and the lake area has rich fish resources and is one of the largest fish production areas in Zambia.

The beautiful scenery is not much different than Lake Tanganyika!

Compared with the scenery of Lake Tanganyika and Lake Banweiwulu, Zhao Feng had no expectations for the scenery of Mondawanga Botanical Garden, but He Jianguo said that this is also a must-visit scenic spot in Zambia!

Zhao Feng, Ye Xiner, Yang Zixin and others went to the idea of going to check in and visited this botanical garden with a wide reputation around the world!

The Mondavanga Botanical Garden is in a valley 20 kilometers southwest of Rouka, and the distance is not too far!

"Mondawanga" means "my garden" in the local language. This botanical garden, built in the 1950s, was created by horticulturalist Sander.

The park is only 80 acres square in size, but it has more than 3,000 plants, including fruit trees, medicinal plants, woody grain and oil plants, green tree species and various economic crops, most of which are rare varieties introduced from abroad.

There are even ginkgo from the north of China, flower vermicelli from California in the United States, pine trees from the Mexican plateau, kapok from Portugal, etc. There is a carefully stacked rockery in the garden, where more than 20 succulent plants such as cactus, cactus whip, cactus fist, and cactus are cultivated on the mountain.

The Mondavanga Botanical Garden's fairy whip is thick and straight, several meters high, and the cactus section is as big as a palm-leaf fan.

At the foot of the rockery, there are palm trees unique to Zambia, which are called "Feval" by the locals. The tree has dozens of meters high and a circumference of 4 to 5 meters. The petioles are extremely long, both wide and thick, and grayish-white. When they hit, they make a sound. They are extremely hard and high-quality wood.

Another famous tree in the park is "Muwabu". The tree body is straight, the crown is flat and round, and the wood texture is fine, solid and light. It is the main material for making "African drums".

I have to say that this botanical garden can be said to be a sparrow that is small, but it has all the internal organs!

Especially in this size, it actually brings together some unique plants from all over the world. Many plants are actually not in line with the local tropical climate, but they are still full of vitality!
