Chapter 303 Yan Siqi Arrives

On the sea outside the Thousand Houses of the Jinyiwei Navy Naval Division of Dengzhou, Wu Liuqi, who had already become the Thousand General of the Navy, led a team of naval warships to patrol the waters of the Changdao Islands. Dengzhou Jinyiwei Navy has more than 2,600 people, including one thousand Jinyiwei, and another more than 1,600 people are temporary workers without the formally organized Jinyiwei, that is, Jun Yu.

Wu Liuqi had 126 large and small warships under his command, four large and large blessed ships, six Haicang ships, ten Cangshan ships, twelve gallops and fast ships, and the rest were all sampans.

Those big blessed ships, Haicang ships and Cangshan ships were all warships converted from captured pirate ships. The largest big blessed ship is eight hundred official materials, with a displacement of 400 tons. This ship is Wu Liuqi's ship. The bow and middle of the ship are three floors high, the stern of the ship are four floors high, and the uppermost deck at the tail is a rudder with a rudder platform, two six-pound cannons installed at the rear, and two six-pound cannons are installed on both sides of the rudder. From the rudder, to the front is the middle deck, with guard plates on both sides, and a female wall marbleway, three six-pound cannons on both sides, and a twelve-pound cannon on the bow. Behind the middle deck, the deck under the rudder is the bedroom where the captain lives. From the upper deck and the captain's deck, the lower level is the sailor's cabin, and the lower level is the cargo cannon, with weights such as earth, rock and fresh water inside.

The other three great blessing ships, one is a 600-material Dafu ship, equipped with a twelve-pound cannon and eight six-pound cannons; the other two are a 400-material Dafu ship, equipped with a twelve-pound cannon and six six-pound cannons.

The Haicang ship is one smaller than the Dafu ship, each ship is equipped with an eight-pound cannon and ten three-pound cannons; the Cangshan ship is one smaller than the Haicang ship, each ship is equipped with a six-pound cannon and eight three-pound cannons. The galloping and fast ships are medium-sized warships of two hundred materials, and each ship is equipped with eight three-pound cannons.

The firepower of these warships is much stronger than that of the Ming Navy warships. They abandoned the large flaming machine with poor airtightness, but adopted the six-pound cannon and three-pound cannon that were commonly used with the Land Division. They used the cannons filled with fixed charge packaging. The loading speed was only a little slower than the large flaming machine, but the range and caliber were much larger, so their power naturally increased a lot.

Of course, Gao Shixin knew that a navy like him was still very weak. Not to mention fighting with Western armed merchant ships, even the pirates in Fujian could not defeat it. But this navy was just an anti-smuggling fleet, used to deal with the smuggling ships in the north. Such a navy was enough to deal with the small pirates and smuggling ships in the north.

Just as Wu Liuqi was leading the navy to patrol the sea, looking for smuggling ships, someone suddenly shouted: "Look, there is a fleet coming to the east! There are so many ships!"

Wu Liuqi picked up the monocular and looked eastward. He saw a huge fleet of ships in the distance, with at least 300 warships. Moreover, those warships were large and medium-sized warships, without small sampans. There were even two warships in the warships. They were a Western-style hull with hard sails hanging. This kind of warship with Chinese and Western styles had a gun deck in the cabin, with a double-layer gun deck, the upper layer was a lighter gun deck, and the lower layer was a heavy gun deck.

"Those two ships are so big, at least one thousand materials!" A Jinyiwei sailor screamed.

Wu Liuqi took a telescope to observe the two large ships that combine Chinese and Western styles. He found that the two ships probably had 1,500 materials, and they were indeed as big as a mountain. There were rows of white windows on the brown hull on both sides. The windows were actually gun doors, and there were powerful guns hidden behind them. However, now the gun doors are closed, and it seems that the fleet coming is not hostile.

The fleet approached, and Wu Liuqi discovered that the fleet was flying a banner with the word "Yan".

"Go up a few small boats and ask what they are here for!" Wu Liuqi ordered a hundred-house officer.

Two small sampans approached the fleet, and the sailors on the ship called out flag signals.

The largest Chinese-Western gunboat in the fleet also replied in a flag language: "We are the brothers from Fujian, the Yan family fleet, and we come to Tianjin to meet old friends."

The small sampan returned to Wu Liuqi and said, "Sir, the other side said that they were Yan Siqi's fleet of the Brotherhood Alliance, and said they were going to Tianjin to meet his old friend."

Wu Liuqi had received Gao Shixin's explanation before. Of course, he knew what the fleet was here for, but he still took a scruple. He ordered: "Shibaerlang, you follow me Wu Liuqi on their ship! If they cheat, we can take advantage of the situation to control them!"

"No!" Wu Liuqi's eighteen disciples stood up.

These eighteen disciples were all the lieutenant of Jinyiwei, and were a group of soldiers carefully selected by Wu Liuqi. After following Wu Liuqi, they practiced martial arts hard, and each of them was a first-class expert. The eighteen disciples used various weapons, including those who used swords, axes, guns, bows and arrows, and hammers. Many of them were also good at using hidden weapons.

Wu Liuqi carried an iron rod and took eighteen apprentices to board a galloping and fast sailing towards Yan Siqi's flagship.

Yan Siqi saw a galloping and fast sailing up and sent a flag signal to him. He ordered: "Let him get closer, let's ask him who he is."

"You are here, Yan Siqi!" The galloping and clutch approached Yan Siqi's gunboat, and Wu Liuqi shouted in a loud voice.

"It's someone! Who is coming?" Yan Siqi poked his head out of the deck and asked.

"I am a thousand households under the command of the Jinyiwei Commander General Gao. As early as two months ago, we were ordered to wait here! General Yan, can we board the ship?" Wu Liuqi replied loudly.

"Please let General Wu get on, welcome everyone to board the ship." Yan Siqi shouted.

The galloping and the gunboat of Yan Siqi, Wu Liuqi and his eighteen disciples boarded the cannon boat.

"I have heard of General Yan's name for a long time! I have admired him!" Wu Liuqi boarded the ship and bowed to Yan Si.

Yan Siqi quickly returned the gift: "I dare not be a pirate! I am just a pirate on the southeastern sea. How dare I bear the gift of General Wu?"

"General Yan develops Dongfan Island and expands territory for China. This is admirable! General Yan, let me lead the way later. Let's go to Tianjin to meet Chief Gao together." Wu Liuqi said.

"Okay, you can lead the way!" Yan Siqi nodded.

At that time, the Ming Dynasty's maritime technology had begun to lag behind the West. The Ming navy sailed on the sea surface and could only sail along the coastline and islands. Once it was far away from the coastline, it would not know its location. Although there was a compass, the compass could only point out east, west, south, and north, but could not tell the captain's location. In this era, there were already navigation instruments such as astrodiameter, right angle meter, two-leg meter and protractor. These instruments could measure their longitude and latitude, and then look through the charts to calculate their specific location.

Therefore, the Ming Dynasty in this era could not conduct long-distance navigation, but Westerners could cross the ocean.

Yan Siqi's fleet sailed into the Bohai Bay and led by Wu Liuqi, heading straight to the mouth of the Tianjin Haihe River. The fleet sailed on the sea for a day and a night, and finally arrived at the mouth of the Tianjin Haihe River.

The sailing and fast boats had already gone to Tianjin and reported the news of Yan Siqi's arrival to Gao Shixin.

"That's great! I finally waited for him to come! Yan Siqi was willing to surrender to the court, and Zheng Zhilong and the others would come! In the future, the routes from the southeast coast to Japan will be controlled by our Ming Jinyiwei!" Gao Shixin laughed.

The fleet with the word "Yan" hangs the seaside outside the sea entrance of the Haihe River in Tianjin. On the big ship in the middle of the fleet, a small man in soldier's costume shouted excitedly: "Dad, we're here!"
