Chapter 7 Meditation
Qingli returned home and closed the door quietly, holding the seemingly ordinary Bodhi seed in her hand, sitting cross-legged on the carpet. She wanted to follow the master's instructions, try to practice meditation and personally realize the Buddha nature.
Qingli took out the note given by the Master of the Fruit Sect and softly analyzed the meaning of the exercises.
"Let go of everything, devote yourself to meditating and chanting mantras, recite the mind and hear it, and realize it when you think of it, do not suppress or follow it, sit on time, do not hurry or slow down, get off the seat to observe, the cotton is dense, the mind is vast, and accommodate everything."
Qingli closed his eyes and silently held the mantra written by Master Guozhe—the six-syllable mantra “Om Mani Pameme Hum, Om Mani Pameme Hum, Om Mani Pameme Hum, Om Mani Pameme Hum, Om Mani Pameme Hum,”
Holding the mantra with all his heart, Qingli gradually lost consciousness and self, and everything was integrated into a peaceful feeling.
"Qingli, you are here, I didn't expect that we will meet so soon." Hearing a solemn voice, Qingli opened his eyes, and the golden light shone, and the eighteen venerables appeared in front of him.
"Wow, you are the eighteen Arhats who protect the Dharma," Qing Li excitedly bowed to all Arhats.
"Aren't you the master I said to protect me for 22 years in my dream last time? You are also an arhat. Can I worship you as a master in the future?" Qing Li kowtowed sincerely. She knew in her heart that this fate must be not simple. She had been curious about Buddhism and was very enthusiastic. Over the years, she had read various scriptures. She really hoped that a famous teacher would guide her. Now she was in front of her with the legendary venerables. What a glory.
"Qingli, we will all be your masters. We have been waiting for you here. Once the opportunity comes, you will get the Bodhi Sect. This Bodhi Sect is our residence. In the future, you can communicate with us as long as you concentrate on the center in the Saha world. Hahaha, let's take a look. This is a deer riding arhat, this is a happy Arhat, this is a bowl-raising Arhat, this is a meditation Arhat, this is a meditative Arhat, this is a cross-river Arhat, this is a elephant Arhat,
I am the laughing lion arhat. I often have this lion with me. You are also destined to be with this yellow lion. In 22 years, it has protected you many times. There are happiness over there. I reach out and contemplate, dig ears, cloth bags, bananas, long eyebrows, guard the door, subduing dragons, and subduing tigers. You should be masters. From today on, we will help you practice. Now we bless you." The venerables all raised their hands to bless Qingli, and Qingli paid homage to him one by one and accepted the blessings of the masters.
"Masters, I would like to ask how to save the spiritual infant? How can I have the ability to save the power?" Qing Li thought of tomorrow's salvation and looked ignorant.
"Qingli, you have now received the blessing of our Buddhist teachings. In fact, you will have some small supernatural powers in the Saha world. In the future, you can concentrate on your mind and the power will appear. This is the power of your mind, and this is also the self-protection ability taught to you by our masters."
The Laughing Lion Arhat seriously continued to answer the doubts for Qingli. "Qingli, first of all, we must understand in our hearts that sentient beings have no birth and no death, only false birth and false death. Buddhism is neither born nor destroyed. You must remember to recite the Buddha's name with your heart to transcend birth, which will be truly beneficial to the deceased. Whether the undead can be transcended depends on the power of the Three Jewels. The Three Jewels are Buddhas, Dharmas, and Sanghas. Qingli, we will now pass on a mantra to you. Tomorrow you can use the power of the Three Jewels to save the undead spirits, and in the future, you can save the undead sentient beings you want to redeem." A golden light flew into Qingli's palm.
"Qingli, Master, now tells you about the things in the six realms: all suffering are now in the six realms, suffering from the suffering of cause and effect and the suffering of life and death. Among the six realms, there are hell paths. The sufferings suffered by sentient beings suffering in the hell path are the most terrible. Then there is the evil ghost path, the animal path, and the animals are all ignorant and have no thoughts, so there is no good karma. Then there is the human realm. There are many sufferings in the human realm, all of which are the sufferings that cannot be obtained, the suffering of birth, the suffering of old age, the suffering of illness, the suffering of death, the suffering of love and separation, the suffering of hatred and hatred, the suffering of meeting with enemies and hatreds. The Asura realm is also called the non-heaven. Although it has great good karma, it has strong hatred and jealousy, so it cannot be born in the heavenly realm.
Asura Path often declares war with the heaven. The heaven is divided into the desire realm, the form realm and the formless realm. Although the desire realm is endless, they will be injured and painful when fighting Asuras. Sometimes they will be bullied by greater gods and feel inferior. Because they can foresee their previous lives and future, they will experience great fear before they die, so the essence of the six realms is suffering. The Buddha is compassionate to save all sentient beings and help sentient beings escape from the sea of suffering. These suffering sentient beings will appear on your way to practice. Your mission is to save these sentient beings. Do you understand?" The Venerables told Qingli her mission.
"Disciple Qing Li follows the teachings of the masters." When Qing Li kowtowed, the masters had already returned to the Bodhizi. Qing Li came back to his senses and came out of meditation.
Qingli remembered the Bodhis seed and looked down. The Bodhis seed was tied firmly to his wrist with a golden ribbon.
