Chapter 3 Moonlight Floating

Chen Jing got out of the rental and opened the door of the Manmao Cafe. Even though it was already noon, there were still people sitting in groups of three or three. Chen Jing found the last row. Qin Hao was already sitting there.

"I'm sorry, I'm late," Chen Jing said apologically.

"It's okay, I just came."

Chen Jing sat directly opposite Qin Hao, and Qin Hao took out the brown kraft paper bag folder.

"This is the information you want, please take a look."

Chen Jing took it and bypassed the line. There was paper information inside. Chen Jing took out the photo. Qin Hao saw Chen Jing's hand trembling.

"It's okay," Qin Hao asked with concern.

But Chen Jing was obviously both physically and mentally on those photos. The woman in the photo was lying on the floor. From the photo, we can see how much force the woman's back of her head was hit on the floor. Not only was there blood around her head and even blood was overflowing from her nostrils. The woman's eyes were not closed yet, and she was frozen at the moment of death with a surprised expression.

Many years later, her mother showed her face to Chen Jing, and she still couldn't accept it. She tried to suppress her inner grief and anger and pain. Qin Hao once again noticed that Chen Jing's chest was rising and falling behind her shirt. It was not ordinary ups and downs, but trying her best to restrain her inner emotions.

"This is a first-hand photo of your mother taking on the spot"

Chen Jing pointed at the red marks that were faintly visible between her mother's neck.

"Why did this disappear later?"

Qin Hao scratched his head, "We also noticed this at that time. It was probably caused by the scratches of the deceased's necklace during his lifetime, but because it was lighter, it was normal that the body naturally disappeared."

"Sure enough," Chen Jing smiled sarcastically, "Maybe you don't know that she never leaves the necklace my mother wore on her neck." Chen Jing suddenly choked up, she covered her face and cried, but couldn't stop, "I'm really..., I, if I had discovered it earlier, my mother wouldn't have, she wouldn't have, she wouldn't have been like this."

Qin Hao has known the woman in front of him for several years, but he has never seen her lose her composure in front of him. He couldn't help but step forward and pat her on the shoulder, "It's not your fault for this, after all, in such a sudden situation, no one can guarantee anything."

"But," Chen Jing raised her head, "I need to find that necklace, maybe I know what happened to my mother."

"What kind of necklace is that?" Qin Hao asked,

"That necklace is the emerald stone necklace that our family has passed down, and it is also the only thing my father left to my mother."

"Then did you realize later that the necklace might not be the case?"

"I found that the necklace was gone and it was after my mother's funeral," Chen Jing smiled sarcastically again, "But what's wrong with them? Everything has been taken care of."

"You mean the Qingyun family?" Qin Hao asked.

Chen Jing said nothing, picked up the coffee and took a sip.

It was already evening when Chen Jing returned to Qingyun's house. She returned to her room, locked today's things into her cabinet, and buried them deeply in the recliner. She had already walked here. She didn't know where to go. There was no breakthrough. She remembered the morning when her mother left home, it was also summer. She had just returned home, but her mother was about to leave. She hugged her mother in the entrance hall and acted like a child and refused to let her mother go, but her mother smiled and rubbed her face.

"Be good, will my mother and wife ask for leave tomorrow and come back to accompany you?"

"Well~ no, you don't know how bad I eat at school, but the taste of the dignified university cafeteria is so bad. I miss your dishes so much, don't leave~" Chen Jing begged,

"Be good," Mom comforted.

Chen Jing never expected that this was her last farewell with her mother. The next day, the police called her and told her that her mother was dead.

This is not a misstep accident as the police said. Chen Jing would never believe that her mother, who was so careful and thoughtful, would fall from the stairs and die.

She didn't believe it, and she clearly remembered that she had a necklace in her neck the morning when her mother left. It was not a memory mistake, and it was definitely not. She could even feel the cold texture of her mother's necklace that morning.

Chen Jing tried hard to stand up from the recliner, walked into the bathroom, took a shower. When she came out, the room was warm but still made her feel irritated, so Chen Jing simply put on a short sleeve and shorts and went out.

Qingyun’s family is located in the suburbs, and all kinds of insects are clamoring one after another at night.

"I didn't expect the stars here to be so bright," Chen Jing said to herself.
