Chapter 622. Faith

Seeing Lin Yi explaining this, the girls stopped talking, but just chatted with each other, their voices were extremely low, and they couldn't hear what they were saying. Instead, they looked at Lin Yi from time to time. When Lin Yi looked at him, he quickly avoided him. After a few glances, Lin Yi simply ignored him and drank fragrant tea quietly.

Soon, the waiter came back, holding a bottle of dry white wine in his hand. Lin Yi nodded and said that this was the case. Then the waiter reported the seafood portion one by one, and there was no problem, and Lin Yi recognized it one by one.

"If there is no problem, I will place an order!" the waiter said respectfully.

Lin Yi smiled and replied, "No problem, please place an order! Tell the kitchen to be faster."

When the waiter went out again, Yan Zi dragged the long voice in a strange tone, imitating the waiter's words just now, "If there is no problem, I will lay eggs... I really want to follow and see how she lay eggs. Isn't it said that humans are born from veterinary veterinary? Moreover, the performance here is so special, it is actually a performance of laying eggs..."

Lin Yi was made to make her laugh and cry again. This swallow is also a living treasure. I wonder how Tingting met her.

After the food was served, Lin Yi had fun with them all the time. The supper was very pleasant. Infected by their youthful atmosphere, Lin Yi couldn't stop smiling all night.

After dinner, the girls took a taxi by themselves, and Lin Yi took Tingting home.

On the way, Tingting suddenly approached Lin Yi, smiled and said, "I didn't expect you to spend money. This meal is not cheap either, right? Because of your honest share, I will tell you a secret. Yan Zi seems to like you very much. How about it, do you want me to help you become an intermediary?"

Lin Yi was a little stunned, then said lightly, "Sorry, I already have a girlfriend, and her personality is not suitable for me."

Tingting rolled her eyes, "Tsk, you are quite loyal to your girlfriend--Is she very beautiful?"

Lin Yi smiled and no longer answered.

When they were about to break up, Tingting seemed to have something to say, but Lin Yi said first, "I will leave Shanghai in two days."

"You really want to leave?" Tingting looked at him with her beautiful eyes.

Lin Yi nodded, "Yes, it's time to leave. After all, I'm not a person here. And the books I like are almost the same."

"Are you really a professional book hunter?"

"What, don't you believe it?" Lin Yi smiled.

Tingting shook her head, nodded again, and finally said, "A good journey."

Both of them were silent.

Lin Yi was a little embarrassed. After all, his ability was limited and he couldn't help her.

After a moment, Tingting suddenly smiled and said, "Since you are about to leave, then accompany me to a place tomorrow."

"Well, where to go?"

"Longhua Temple!"

...

It is said that there is an ancient temple in the suburbs of Shanghai, but I saw the clouds of pagodas and the peaches and plums were hidden. This is the famous Longhua Ancient Temple.

Speaking of this ancient temple, there is also a moving legend. It is said that during the Three Kingdoms period, the prime minister of the Kangju Kingdom in Xicheng had an eldest son named Hui. He did not love wealth, saw through the world, and decided to become a monk. He was known as "Kang Monk Society". Kang Monk Society followed the Buddhist order and came to China to spread Buddhism and made good connections. He traveled eastward in Shanghai and Suzhou. One day, he came to Longhua Dang and saw that the water and sky were the same color and the dust was not stained. He thought it was a treasure land for cultivation, so he built a hut here. He didn't know that the reason why the scenery here was quiet and extraordinary was because the Dragon King of Guangze built a dragon palace here. The Dragon King of Guangze was very unhappy when he saw a monk living there. He had evil thoughts for a moment, and wanted to stir up the wind and fog and overturn the monk's thatched cottage.

He frightened the monk away. But the Dragon King suddenly found a ray of light radiating from the thatched cottage, with five-color auspicious clouds on it. The Dragon King was shocked. When he approached, he saw Kang Monkhui looking at him and was meditating and reciting scriptures. After listening for a while, the Dragon King was moved by the Buddhist decree recited by the monk. Not only did he dispel his original evil thoughts, he also walked up to Kang Monkhui and said to Kang Monkhui: He wanted to go back to the East China Sea and give the Dragon King Palace to Kang Monkhui to build a Buddhist temple. Kang Monkhui accepted the Dragon King's good intentions, so he converted the Dragon Palace to Longhua Temple and made a special trip to Nanjing to visit Sun Quan, the monarch of Wu, and asked him to help build the pagoda so that he could place the Buddha relics he invited. In this way, 13 pagodas were built in Longhua Temple and 13 Buddha relics were placed.

The story of Sun Quan building the Longhua Pagoda is well known to everyone in Shanghai. But this is just a legend with mythology. Judging from historical records, Longhua Temple and Longhua Pagoda were probably built during the Northern Song Dynasty. In any case, Longhua Temple is a thousand-year-old historical monument. Since the Ming Dynasty, the "Longhua Evening Bell" has been one of the "Eight Scenerys in Shanghai".

There are many ancient monuments like Longhua Temple in Shanghai. But as a city, Shanghai was still relatively young. Before the Ming Dynasty, Shanghai was still scattered towns. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, in order to resist the invasion of Japanese pirates, the city walls were built, and gradually formed the scale of the city. After the unequal Treaty of Nanjing, Shanghai became one of the five trading ports. Imperialist powers rushed to open concessions here, set up banks, set up factories, and control shipping and finance. Shanghai became a "paradise for adventurers", known as the "Shili-Mile Foreign Field", but its population was increasing and it formed an industrial base.

Today, Shanghai has escaped from the colonial situation. After decades of construction after liberation, Shanghai has become China's largest industrial base and commercial center, and has entered the ranks of world super-famous cities.

The next day, Lin Yi borrowed a car and waited for Tingting at the agreed location. According to Tingting, she would act as a guide today and lead Lin Yi to visit the Longhua Temple.

When Tingting appeared, Lin Yi handed her a breakfast, started the car, and said, "I've eaten it a long time ago. After calling you, I ate there. I guess you didn't eat it, so I brought you one. It should still be hot now. Eat it quickly!"

Tingting looked at Lin Yi. Suddenly, she leaned over, kissed Lin Yi gently on the face, and then started eating sweetly with soy milk.

Lin Yi touched her cheeks and didn't feel a little stunned. Later, she thought that maybe it was just her whim, and her inadvertent actions made her feel relieved.

With Tingting as the guide, Lin Yi drove the borrowed car and arrived outside the famous Longhua Temple gate.

After buying the ticket, Tingting insisted on holding Lin Yi's hand. Although she felt a little awkward, she thought that the two were about to separate and she was not doing secret things. What was she afraid of, so she went with her.

In March and April, the pines, cypresses and bamboos are still green, and the spring is particularly dazzling in the warm sunshine but windless spring. Walking on the paths with lush green on both sides makes people feel a bit of ethereal feeling out of thin air in their hearts, which is very beneficial for adjusting the tense lifestyle.

After walking for more than two hours, Lin Yi and others finally returned to the foot of the mountain. According to Tingting's meaning, she wanted to worship in the temple, but Lin Yi had no interest in these things, so she stood on the lawn at the entrance of the temple and watched the devout pilgrims coming in and out. She respected these Lin Yi. Although Lin Yi himself did not have much faith, she respected Lin Yi extremely well for those who had devout faith.

Seeing Tingting bought a few incense sticks, igniting the candlelight piously, and then followed some pilgrims to the temple gate. Lin Yi found a secluded place, opened the mineral water and took a few sips.

Looking around, Lin Yi saw a level 5 pagoda of more than ten meters high on the right side of the temple, so he stopped at it for a while. It was strange that Lin Yi saw a monk standing under the tower. Although it was quite far apart, Lin Yi always felt that the corners of his eyes were smiling, and the smile seemed to be prepared for him. Looking closely, the monk suddenly raised his hand slightly at Lin Yi. Lin Yi was stunned and did not react, but saw the monk raising his hand at Lin He again.

Now Lin Yi could no longer react, so he pointed to the tip of his nose with a look of astonishment. The monk seemed to see Lin Yi's movements and nodded slightly at him, as if telling Lin Yi that he was the one who had just waved at him.

Although he was very confused, Lin Yi slowly walked towards the pagoda.

Walking under the tower, the monk stood in front of Lin Yi with one hand and bowed deeply, "Donor, the little monk is polite."

Lin Yi hurriedly followed suit and bowed, "Hello, Master, did you call me here just now?"

The monk smiled and reached out and pointed in the direction of the temple, "Donor, please follow the monk..."

Seeing the monk strange, Lin Yi was puzzled, but obviously the other party would not have any malice towards him, so he followed him and slowly walked towards the temple.

The monk took Lin Yi along the path outside the temple and walked to the right side of the temple wall. He slowly said, "Why didn't the donor go to worship with his friends just now?"

Lin Yi smiled, but unexpectedly the monk observed it carefully, "My friend's incense is a belief. I don't have much faith, I just like to follow the situation."

The monk half turned his body, with a few wrinkles at the corner of his eyes, and he could see clearly when he arrived at the place that blocked the sun.

"Why don't the donor believe in my Buddha?"

Lin Yi shook his head, "This is hard to say, the faith is too profound."

The monk still smiled faintly, not surprised. "If the master of his implementation is not said, the little monk also knows that although the donor does not believe in Buddhism, he is a little hesitant." Seeing that Lin Yi had a question in his eyes, the monk shook his hand, "The donor does not need to ask, the little monk will know. The little monk comes to ask you, does the donor know what kind of pagoda is just now?"

Lin Yi's mind quickly turned around and suddenly realized that Longhua Temple was also a thousand-year-old temple. It seemed to be built by Sun Quan. Many Taoist monks passed away here, that tower...

Thinking of this, Lin Yi nodded confidently, "Master, I understand, it should be a relic tower, right?"

The monk still smiled faintly, reached out and pointed his hand behind Lin Yi's head, "Look!"

Lin Yi did not look back because he had seen from the expression on the monk's face that there was nothing behind him at all, but he didn't know what he meant.

Seeing that Lin Yi did not respond, the monk drew a circle in front of Lin Yi and asked him, "What is this?"

Lin Yi thought for a while and said, "Round!"

"But the little monk had his hands just now..."

Lin Yi answered without hesitation, "It's still a circle, a circle with beginning and end."

The monk nodded, and his smile on his face calmed down, "The donor is indeed a person with wisdom. The little monk has one last problem."

"Master, please speak."

"You carry so much, aren't you tired? Just like when you went up the mountain just now, you were worried, and even your steps down the mountain were confused. Did the donor never think about letting go of paranoia?"

Lin Yi smiled, "The master has been following me just now?"

The monk did not answer, but pointed at the sun. Lin Yi suddenly realized that he inferred Lin Yi's previous state from Lin Yi's current state, so he honestly answered, "The Buddha emphasizes both the help, while the world emphasizes self-improvement. Those who are both the help naturally do not need to be paranoid, and paranoid is harmful. If a self-improvement loses his paranoid heart, how can he soar? I understand the master's kindness, but this... seems to be not applicable to me..."

Lin Yi's voice gradually became louder when he said this simple sentence, and he felt quite angry. After saying this, Lin Yi was quite regretful. After all, he had a kind intention, and he didn't want to hear it, and it seemed that he didn't have to refute it so directly.

However, the monk was not angry and smiled, "The donor saw that he had studied Buddhist scriptures."

Lin Yi was a little arrogant after hearing this, "I like reading, and I refute reading. For example, the Diamond Sutra and the Lankavatara Sutra are my favorites, so I know a little bit..."

The monk raised his eyebrows slightly, "Oh, I wonder if the donor can talk about it. How exquisite are these two Buddhist scriptures?"

Lin Yi thought briefly and remembered that he seemed to have read these two scriptures in the past, especially among the scriptures he collected, these two are also the favorites, so he also has some experience.

"Now is not a time to discuss in detail. Let me briefly summarize. In Xiaoke's view, the Diamond Sutra is nothing more than two letting go; while the Lankavatara Sutra explains a truth: There are five diseases of greed, anger, joy, anger, sorrow, and the five diseases that harm the human body are the most harmful to the human body. Since all the diseases cannot be cured, why not use joy to replace the other four diseases? It is clean to greet people with a smile all day long."

The monk smiled again and reached out to Lin Yi's forehead, "So, donor, have you ever done it? Did you do it with joy instead of greed, anger and sorrow?"

Lin Yi responded without thinking, "Just now, the master said why bother to be paranoid, but at this moment he seemed to be paranoid in Xiaoke's state of mind..."

The monk was stunned and immediately paused, "Okay, Yuanya knew that this was the result. It was indeed the little monk who was obsessed with it, and his sins..."

Lin Yi looked at the time and it was almost twelve o'clock. It was probably time for Tingting to come out of the temple at this time, so he tied up with the monk, bent down and bowed slightly and said, "If the master has nothing else, I have friends waiting for me outside the temple gate, so I will go first."

The monk smiled and took off the string of rosary he hung from his neck. "After all, the donor is a person who is destined to be with my Buddha. The little monk with this Buddha nature in the lay people has never seen him. Meeting is destined to be, and the little monk has nothing to give him. Let's give this string of rosary to the donor... This string of rosary has been following the little monk for more than thirty years."

Lin Yi was stunned when he heard this. The monk was only in his twenties and was as big as himself at best. Why did he say that the rosary has been with him for more than 30 years?

"Dare you ask Master Gui Geng?"

The monk laughed, "Did the donor look at the little monk as if he was in his twenties? In fact, the little monk is already in his forty years and is 30 years old this year."

I really didn’t expect that there would be such benefits if I devoted myself to practicing Buddhism. Those women in the world who love beauty no longer need to beautify and maintain this and that day. They all became monks and nuns, and they were absolutely youthful.

This thought was just a turn in his heart, and he didn't dare to reveal his face. Lin Yi took the string of rosary, but he was a little embarrassed. Although he knew that this was a good thing that had been revealed in the legend, such as the "Men's Clothing King" he once knew, which was also such a strange man. The little gourd given to him was a treasure, but he was not rewarded without any merit. How could he have the nerve to accept it?

When the monk saw Lin Yi's face looked embarrassed, he brushed his sleeves and said, "The donor doesn't have to mind too much. The highest level of my Buddha is to have a Buddha in my heart, and he will suddenly realize it and pay attention to the Buddha's fate. Since you have a fate with me, it is also necessary to give you something. Just follow the circumstances, and you don't need to worry about it."

Then Lin Yi put the string of rosary in his pocket and bowed his head to the monk, "Thank you for your generosity..."

Lin Yi turned around and wanted to leave, and the monk said behind him, "People still need to have some faith. Sometimes faith can be your pillar and will make you stronger."
