Chapter 10 The Phoenix Valley

After leaving Linhefang, Zuo Lingquan bought a dark horse with good looks at the carriage and horse shop. After inquiring about the direction with the locals, he galloped to Qihuang Valley alone.

Qihuang Valley is only thirty miles from the capital, located on the outskirts of the city, backed by Changqing Mountain.

Zuo Lingquan speeded along the straight road. Within half an hour, he found a small town at the end of the road.

At the end of the town is an octagonal archway with three words "Qihuang Valley" written on it. Behind the archway is a ten-mile willow forest. The eaves of some of the buildings and the mountains at the end of the view can be seen from afar.

In the early morning, there were few people in the town, and there were only a few medicinal farmers who dug up herbs to sell herbs.

Zuo Lingquan rode his horse through the town and came to the front of the octagonal archway.

Four young men stood under the archway, who were guards. Seeing Zuo Lingquan coming, one of them stepped forward and raised his hand and bowed:

"Please stay, please stay. Outsiders from Qihuang Valley are prohibited from entering. Do you have any documents for citation?"

Zuo Lingquan took out the jade pendant from his arms and handed it to the other party: "In the lower Zuo Lingquan, a person from Qinghe County, he has longed for Qihuang Valley for a long time. I came here to visit today. I wonder if my brother can introduce it on his behalf?"

The young man in charge took the sign and saw the word "Wu" on the back. He looked up at Zuo Lingquan and said with a smile:

"It turned out to be you. I just said hello in the valley and said that someone came over with a sign and took you directly to the Danyu Room to meet Mr. Wu. Let's go, I'll take you there."

Seeing this, Zuo Lingquan didn't say much, and turned over with the young man and entered the octagonal archway.

Qihuang Valley is inside the mountains, and the ten-mile willow forests outside are just to isolate outsiders, but not living in people. It is more like a beautiful landscape garden.

The two of them walked side by side, and in about a quarter of an hour, they arrived at the foot of the mountain that was separated by the earth.

The Changqing Mountain Range extends thousands of miles across the west side of Dadan. The mountain in front of you is only a part of it, called Qihuangling.

When the mountains stretched to this place, I wonder if it was because of the cracks in geological activities, which caused an opening between the mountains. The cliffs on both sides cut out like sharp blades. You can vaguely see a waterfall falling deep, and a rainbow appeared under the morning glow of spring sunshine. The scenery was so beautiful.

Zuo Lingquan turned over and dismounted and walked into the valley with the young man. The scenery in front of him suddenly became clear. The corridors and pavilions were quickly formed, and even many empty houses were built on the cliffs. There was a giant square in the middle, and hundreds of people could see morning exercises. The lofts around the square were surrounded by green plants, and you could also see a few white cranes hovering in the sky. When you look at it, it really tasted like a Taoyuan fairyland.

Zuo Lingquan was just a first time and was not familiar with Qihuang Valley. He followed the young man who led the way and turned right. After walking a distance, he came to a small lake on the side of the square.

The small lake is full of lotus lotus, and in the middle is a school with bamboo curtains hanging on all sides.

There were futons in the school, and dozens of people sat in a circle. The oldest was seventeen or eighteen, and the youngest was five or six years old. They were all excited to listen to an elder who preached after the desk:

"......At that time, I was in Linyuan City, Dayan Kingdom, and saw a strange woman coming from the wind, hanging above the imperial city. The Emperor of Dayan Kingdom personally went out to greet him. In that scene, if you don't practice well, you will never see it in your life..."

Zuo Lingquan listened while walking. His impression of people in practice came from the storytellers in the city. He knew nothing except that he knew that there was a Great Yan Dynasty outside the Northern Pass.

At this time, when we arrived at Qihuang Valley, Zuo Lingquan was curious and asked the young man who was leading the way:

"I grew up in Qinghe County since I was a child and I rarely hear about things outside the Great Dan Dynasty. Can I tell me about it?"

The young man who led the way was not old but friendly. When he heard words, he slowed down his pace and walked side by side with Zuo Lingquan:

"Just call me Wang Rui. I entered Qihuang Valley at the age of six and have never left for ten years. I have only a little understanding of the outside world. However, I have heard from the teacher before."

Seeing this, Zuo Lingquan slowed down and looked at the ears.

Wang Rui's face clearly had a desire and yearning. After thinking about it for a moment, he said seriously:

"The Great Dan Dynasty said it was just a small place, with the southeast facing the sea and the west away from the Changqing Mountains. It can only be said to be a remote place in the world.

The Great Yan Dynasty outside the pass is different. A state may be bigger than ours. However, I don’t know the specifics of the secular courts. I only know that there are nine sects outside, called the “Nine Sects of the South”. Our ancestors of Qihuang Valley came out from the “Jing Tai”, one of the nine sects.

If we have outstanding disciples in Qihuang Valley now, the teachers will also rely on this incense source to send people to the Jingtai terrace of the Dayan Dynasty for further study. Master Zheng, who had just taught, had been there when he was young. It's a pity that he was injured when he went out to practice, otherwise he would still be there."

Zuo Lingquan nodded slightly, and after carefully writing down these words, he asked a question that all those who have just entered the practice of cultivation would ask:

"Will people over there fly to the sky and escape?"

Wang Rui spread his hands and shook his head and said:

"I haven't been there before, how can I know. But the teacher said that one way of practicing is divided into five levels of "Qi Practice, Linggu, Secluded Bamboo, Jade Step, Forgetful Mechanism", and one step at a time.

Those who enter the bamboo grove can fly to the sky and hide from the earth with their objects, and those who enter the jade stairs can control the wind and flow into the air. When we are in the Phoenix Valley, the head of the sect and several masters enter the Spirit Valley. Such masters cannot be seen here."

Zuo Lingquan nodded thoughtfully, thought for a moment, and looked at his sword again:

"Among these sects, are there anyone who uses swords particularly powerful?"

Qihuang Valley is a sword-learning student, and Wang Rui is naturally very interested in this issue. He looked at Zuo Lingquan's sword and said proudly:

"Our Qihuang Valley Master went out to the shock terrace and asked me to say that those who use swords outside must have shock terraces. However, the leader once said that there is a "Sword Emperor City" outside the Nine Sects, which is particularly powerful. He dares to challenge the Nine Sects. The cultivators there are specially called "Sword Cultivators", and there is also a saying that "the eight masters of the Nine Sects and the Ten Sword Emperors of Zhongzhou". Unfortunately, the leader has only heard of something, and I don't know the specific ones..."

While the two of them were chatting, after passing the lakeside, they walked for about a quarter of an hour, and finally stopped beside a bamboo forest.

The bamboo forest is close to the back of the valley. From the outside, you can see a building on the hillside halfway up, located near the waterfall you saw when you came in.

"Uncle Wu is right above, I won't go in. You can just say hello to someone and explain your purpose."

Wang Rui sent him to the entrance of the bamboo forest, and no longer spoke, raised his hand and turned around and left.

After Zuo Lingquan said goodbye with an unsatisfactory feeling, he stepped into the path among the bamboo forest with his sword. Along the way, he saw several bamboo houses. Many young girls gathered in the bamboo houses, either pounding medicine to dry the sun or sitting cross-sitting. When he passed by, he would look at him curiously.

Zuo Lingquan came to the cliff and was about to ask the girls' houses who were pounding medicine in the distance. He asked someone to inform him. A person's upper body was poked out above the cliff.

Zuo Lingquan looked up and saw the warm spring sunshine, the roar of the waterfall brought out a hazy rainbow. A woman in a light green dress stood on the edge of the cliff and looked down.

The woman can't tell her age at first glance, but her apricot-eyed eyebrows, her figure and charm, and her temperament are relatively mature. It may be more appropriate to describe it as a woman. She tied her black hair, and she didn't put a bead hairpin and tied it with a hairband. Her face was white and without any makeup. She was thin and had no accessories. She looked extremely clean. Under the support of spring and waterfalls, she even felt like she was floating in fairy spirit.

Zuo Lingquan blinked, not sure if this woman was "Uncle Wu". After looking at each other, he raised his hand politely:

"I'm at Zuo Lingquan, how dare you ask if Senior is Uncle Wu?"

After saying that, I waited for a reply.

However, the woman above did not speak. After looking down, her figure disappeared from the cliff.

Zuo Lingquan thought the other party was going to come down to have an interview, so he stood upright under the cliff and waited quietly...

-----

Above the cliff, the waterfall roared.

The platform opened from the rock wall is three zhang wide and about ten zhang long. The left side bends around the stone stairs to the bottom of the cliff, and the right side goes directly below the waterfall.

At the entrance of the stone stairs, there is a wooden house built. Near the waterfall, there is an empty stone floor. It seems to be a place to practice martial arts. There is also a stone platform for people to sit cross-legged on the edge of the cliff. Looking out, it shows the picturesque Qihuang Valley.

Wu Qingwan, wearing a light green dress, withdrew her gaze from the edge of the stone platform and looked at the letter in her hand, with some confusion in Rushui's pupils.

Wu Qingwan is the young apprentice of the national teacher Yue Pingyang. She is the fifth among the commanders of Qihuang Valley and is in charge of the Danyi Room, one of the five rooms. Princess Longli's martial arts was taught by her, and she is considered Jiang Yi's commander.

However, Princess Longli did not call Wu Qingwan the master.

First, because the prince and the princess have special identities, according to the rules, they can only be called national teachers.

Secondly, Princess Longli's biological mother, Empress Liu, went out of Jintang County with Wu Qingwan. She met her when she was young and was like her sisters, so Princess Longli called her "Auntie" since she was young.

Princess Longli went to Qihuang Valley to practice at the age of six. Wu Qingwan personally led it to be considered half of the princess’ mother.

Although Jiang Yi has been reunited for nearly four years after returning to the palace, she still knows the princess’s personality very well - she is strong and proactive on the outside, born with the arrogance of the royal family, but she is delicate and considerate inside, and knows "introspective".

In the past, in Qihuang Valley, Jiang Yi had been helping Wu Qingwan to discipline many of her senior sisters. Even if she was angry, she would act on the principle of fairness and justice. She would never favor anyone because of her own opinions, let alone complaining to Wu Qingwan.

But at this moment, Wu Qingwan saw the letter in her hand and couldn't understand how much grievance Jiang Yi had suffered before she wrote these things.

What, ‘Don’t reveal my identity, let him leave it for a long time. When can’t help but look around, he said he was not sincere and told him to get out.’ If he doesn’t leave, he will let him go to the living room to wash clothes.’ ‘After washing clothes, go to the animal circle to bathe Baihe’…

Isn't this bullying?

Wu Qingwan has been practicing in the mountains since she was a child. She liked to live alone and ignore foreign affairs. She didn't even have many disciples. She had neither interest nor could she do such troubles.

However, Jiang Yi called her "Auntie". She was able to write such a letter that "every word is sobbing" in an abnormal manner, which shows that she was really angry with the child below. If she did nothing, she would not be able to explain the next time Jiang Yi came over.

Wu Qingwan put away the letter, hesitated for a moment, and followed Princess Longli's instructions, and did not pay attention to Zuo Lingquan as soon as possible. She wanted to let Zuo Lingquan stand for a long time and then talk about other things.
