Chapter 1343 Flight Comparison

Victor Rezenov's strength is probably awe of any pilot in the parallel world, but admitting that the gap is one thing. When it comes to the competition, Wang Weiguo and his comrade Zheng Bin's desire to fight is far better than speculation of the ending. The two quickly made all preparations and walked towards the two gray painted J-10 Raptors fighters led to the runway with steady steps.

Since it is a friendly confrontation, not a practical battle, the two J-10 fighter wings, one in front and one behind, are also equipped with training bombs.

The huge gray-white pl-11 with the same huge orange pl-8 with the same huge wings. Two symmetrical mounts under the triangular wings have been mounted. In addition, what the group didn't pay much attention when visiting just now was that unlike Long Yun's understanding, the wing tip of the J-10 "Raptor" fighter in the parallel world has changed, from a simple cut-point triangular wing to a wing-tip missile launch slide rail that poked forward.

Wingtip hangers are not very difficult in themselves, but fighter jets from Eastern countries are rarely used.

For example, the Soviet Union, a major aviation power, has developed countless fighter jets since its establishment. However, except for some technical verification and prototypes, there are no models set with wingtip hanging points. It was not until the Su-27 in the 1980s that it was the first socialist camp fighter to set up hangers on wingtips.

From this point of view, it seems that the technology of "wingtip hanging point" is very high-end or difficult to implement, but it is not the case. It is mainly a comprehensive consideration of the designer.

The advantage of setting the wing tip hanging point is that it can have two extra light load plug-ins, which is beneficial to the ammunition layout of the fighter aircraft. In some models, it can also be used as wing counterweights. At the same time, it also has many disadvantages. It not only increases the resistance of the fighter aircraft - from the aerodynamic perspective, the greater the resistance of the part farther away from the main body of the aircraft, but also reduces the agility of the fighter to a certain extent.

In addition, for models with high speed requirements, the wingtip hanging point is also limited by the Mach cone.

For a supersonic fighter, if the wing position itself is relatively forward, plus the hanger and weapon, it will often protrude beyond the Mach cone formed by the nose. In this way, when flying at high speed, not only will the resistance increase greatly, but it will also endanger flight safety. Therefore, a basic principle of aerodynamic design of the fighter is "sharp". The entire aircraft has only one shock center when facing the atmosphere; conversely, if a fighter with a front wing position also has a wingtip hanger - such as f-16 or f/a-18, then it can be assumed that the speed of this aircraft is definitely not very good.

Of course, there are many reasons for whether fighters have wingtip mounts. Among the third generation fighter jets in the Cold War era, the MiG-29 did not have wingtip mounts mainly because it was unnecessary. A frontline fighter with a large number of equipment only needed to carry six air-to-air missiles, and the under-wing mounts were fully satisfied.

As a long-range heavy-duty aircraft originally equipped with PV, the number of hanging points is better. In addition, the tremor problem of the wing tip of the wing tip is also considered. At the same time, as the wing tip missile launching slide rail and counterweight rod, the hanger appeared. The number of ten external plug-ins of the entire aircraft was originally quite large. The inner section of the wing was still empty, and a pair of heavy-load hanging points could be added later, which can fully utilize the huge size of the Su-27 series fighter jets.

This is the case with the G-29 and Su-27. Let’s look at the situation of the main fighter jets of the Chinese Air Force. In fact, Plaaf is not unfamiliar with the wingtip mount. In the early years, aviation technicians conducted tests on a J-6iii type aircraft, and modified a pair of missile launch slides on the wingtips of the "Liuye" two wings, carrying the PL-2 type missile.

However, the experiment is just a kind of exploration after all. After all, the wingtip mounts have disappeared on the subsequent J-7, J-8 and even J-10 fighter jets. The reasons are of many aspects, but the main reason is the wing configuration and position problems - due to the pursuit of high-altitude and high-speed performance. In addition, the engine itself is limited, these main fighters use delta wings without exception. If the tip is not cut, the wingtip mounts cannot be installed. In addition, another reason is the delta wings. If the wingtip position is deviated, if the hanger is set, it will affect the center of gravity of the fuselage, which is also an additional burden on flight control.

In addition, there is probably another consideration. Judging from the combat needs of Plaaf and the mounting capabilities of these fighter jets, there is no urgent need for hangers.

This is the case in the real world. When Long Yun and his comrades walked out of the combat preparation room together and saw two gray-green camouflage g-29m ready to fly this time next to the same wide runway. At the same time, he also saw two J-10 "Raptors" with slow engines not far away, he soon discovered the orange pl-8 training bombs mounted on the wingtip of the fighter. His first reaction to the appearance of the wingtip mount was still curious.

When I visited the fighter plane just now, it was probably the Raptor in the hangar that was not equipped with wingtip missile launching slide rails. Long Yun did not notice that now he found that the J-10 in this world actually had this design. While getting closer to observe, he also confirmed that the Air Force was planning to use it as a multi-purpose fighter.

Indeed, for a multi-purpose fighter similar to the F-16, the more points the better.

Although due to the limitations of structural strength and overload value, the wing tip can only be hung with one combat ammunition or an over-visual range missile, two under-wing hanging points can be released and transferred in sequence, the two wing inner hanging points that are vacant will have great potential, whether they are hung with opposite ammunition or secondary fuel tanks.

I made up for a lesson on the wingtip hanger and talked to Chinese personnel near the apron. The members of the military delegation spoke in a few words and determined some details of the confrontation drill with the host.

Everything was ready, and each climbed up the boarding ladder and entered the cockpit. The sound of the engine whistle gradually rose. After a while, under the guidance of the base tower, two gray air-high-end painted, and the bright and eye-catching J-10 fighter jets on both wings slid into the air. Then the MiG-29m painted with a big red five-pointed star also flew away from the runway. The four fighter jets formed a simple multi-aircraft formation in the sky and flew towards the predetermined confrontational airspace.

The order of departure, according to the considerations of Chinese personnel, must have allowed the J-10, which has a longer range in the domestic fuel, to take off first.

This arrangement is considered to take care of the mysterious G-29, who is nicknamed "Airport Guardian". In fact, this statement is somewhat selfish. According to the conventional process, both fighter jets filled the fuel tanks in the aircraft and took off. The J-10 twin aircraft that left the ground first hovered in the sky and waited for formation. They could also burn some oil. The push-weight of the entire aircraft would be a little cheaper than the second lieutenant.

Of course, the problem of short range of MiG-29 has been solved to a certain extent in the improved M-type. Now the internal fuel range of the two fighter jets is not much different, which is equivalent to standing on the same starting line in this regard.

After taking off, he flew with two sharp-shaped "Raptors" and flew the Mig-29m fighter jet numbered Blue 09. Long Yun looked around from the long-lost MiG cockpit. For the first time, he flew over the motherland in a parallel world. Next to him were two J-10 fighters that he had never seen before. While controlling the landline to maintain a stable route, he carefully observed the flight status of the "Raptors" fighter jet. Of course, Wang Weiguo and Zheng Bin, who were flying at this time, were the same.

In early spring, the west sun shines on the smooth skin of a fighter plane in the afternoon. After taking off, it flew south with a flight altitude of about 2,500 meters. The large blue sky outside the cockpit is very familiar to Long Yun.

It seems that like Beijing, the capital of the real world, the growing industry and increasingly noisy urban activities have made the sky in this world covered with dust. Although it is not yet time for sandstorms, the lower edge of a large clear blue sky is still gray and cannot be seen clearly. Obviously, the air quality on the surface is not good.

As a VVS ace pilot, I have been fighting in Central Europe, the Caucasus and the Far East. The sky in different regions is also changing with the changes in the sky, time and weather.

The plane and the wingman flew together on the side of the "Raptors". Long Yun stood from the perspective of Victor Rezenov and observed it. He had to admit that the atmosphere of the surface of the "parallel motherland" was not very good. Just like when the plane took off and flew over the thin layer of dust in the ground, the sky above and around it was blue as if the environment was pretty good, but if you look down, you would suddenly leak.

I expressed my feelings about the air quality in the capital. Next, according to the arrangement of the confrontation process, four fighter jets entered a group of scheduled routes and flew in formations. Each set of dual aircraft kept the formation unchanged, and there was no need to follow closely between the two sets of dual aircraft. This method allows pilots to have a certain understanding of the basic performance of the fighter jets.

If the test flight in the sky is to understand the flight performance of the fighter, it is probably the most efficient to let the pilot fly into the sky.

However, on the one hand, the J-10 and the visiting G-29 do not have a two-seater type, so it is impossible for the pilot to fly an unfamiliar model alone. On the other hand, there is a confrontation drill next to it. Only by driving his own mount can the pilot show his true strength, and the combat effectiveness of the test fighter is more objective and real.

Under the process requirements, according to each call from the tower, Major Wang Weiguo and Wingman Zheng Bin control the J-10 to enter the standard navigation subject. The two "Raptors" first activated the afterburner and made a horizontal acceleration. Then the nose was raised and entered a uniform climb at a large angle of attack. They continued to pull up and leveled, and then the push rod dived to complete a high-strength spiral with a meter speed of 600 kilometers. (To be continued)
