The old third regiment in history is now the 65th Army
The Third Regiment is one of the six main regiments of the Jin-Cha-Hebei Military Region. Since its establishment, the Third Regiment has been formed three times.
The first third regiment: On June 7, 1933, when the division was established in Fujitian Town, Yongfeng County, Jiangxi Province, the 66th Division of the Red 22nd Army was reduced to form the third regiment of the First Division of the First Regiment of the First Army, namely the "Red Third Regiment"; in mid-September 1935, after the Red Army arrived in Hadapu, Gansu, the Red 1st Division was reorganized into the first and second battalions of the First Column of the "Shaanxi and Gansu Detachment". The first battalion was composed of the Red 1st Regiment, the Red 3rd Regiment, the Third Battalion, and the Health Team; the Second Battalion was composed of the Red 2nd Regiment and the First and Second Battalions of the Red 3rd Regiment. The third regiment was temporarily abolished.
The second third regiment: At the end of December, the number of the "Red 1st Division" was restored in Lin Town, Yichuan County, Shaanxi Province. When the third regiment was restored, it was formed by the First Regiment (Dadu River Company), the backbone of the Second Regiment, and the new recruits in northern Shaanxi. That is, the Red 1st Army Headquarters and Hong 1st, some cadres and backbone of the Red 13th Regiment, two companies (with four platoons of strength) and 325 new recruits in northern Shaanxi were formed;
Third Regiment: On August 20, 1937, the Red 1st Division was reorganized into the Independent Regiment of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army. The former Red 13th Regiment and the Red 3rd Regiment were reorganized into the First, Second, and Third Battalions, with a total of 13 companies. The original Third Regiment was reduced to the Third Battalion of the Independent Regiment. At the end of October of the same year, the Independent Regiment was expanded and called the Independent First Division of the Eighth Route Army (also known as the First Division). The Red Army companies of the four armies were co-organized with local anti-Japanese guerrillas to form the Third Regiment of the Independent First Division.
In early March 1938, Deng Hua, the political commissar of the Independent First Division, led the Third Regiment headquarters and a regiment led by Song Shilun to form the Song and Deng detachments, and advanced to Hebei to carry out anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare; (Leaving Xiao Yingtang's third battalion) was still called the Third Regiment.
On March 13, the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region ordered the reorganization of the Third Regiment. On the 19th, the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, the "New Third Regiment" was established in Shangzhuang, Laiyuan, Shangzhai, Lingqiu, Laiyuan Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Detachment and some Red Army backbones, the "New Third Regiment" of the first division of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, commonly known as the "Laiyuan Regiment", and the regiment commander Qiu Wei.
On August 12, 1938, the New Third Regiment was divided into two again. Part of it was organized into the Second Regiment; the other part of the Laiyuan Detachment was brought by Xiao Yingtang, the Red Army detachment, the 7th Company and the Ninth Company of the Red Third Regiment, the reconnaissance platoon, and the main force of the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Fifth Detachment (also known as the Fifth Division). The strength of the troops and weapons and equipment were greatly increased. After the merger of the Laiyuan Detachment and the Fifth Detachment, it was still called the Third Regiment. The regiment commander Ji Tingxie, commonly known as the "Old Third Regiment".
The third old regiment has the most Red Army, the strongest combat power, the best equipment, and is popular with "fist thought". When encountering an enemy, there is only one word "beat". If you say it, you will fight, and there is no negotiation.
The 65th Army of the People's Liberation Army of China
The headquarters of the 65th Army Group is located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. It was originally codenamed 51056 and is affiliated to the Beijing Military Region. It was adapted from the 65th Army of the Army in 1985. It consists of three infantry divisions of the 193, 194th Division and the 207th Division of the 69th Army. It is incorporated into the 14th Artillery Division, Tank Brigade, Anti-Aircraft Brigade, and the 3rd and 4th Divisions of the Guardian Division. In May 1989, in order to strengthen the security and defense forces in the capital area, it was based on the 4th Division of the Guardian Division (and the 3rd Division).

The 65th Army was the 8th Column of the North China Military Region established in the late Liberation War. The predecessor of the 193rd Division was the Red 6th Army formed in January 1930, and later changed to the Red 3rd Army. It was responsible for the arduous nuclear test and missile range construction tasks. In September 1981, the 65th Army participated in the famous North China military exercise.
