Master Xuanzang said: "If you plant evil causes and result in evil consequences. Although this evil consequence may fall on others, it will eventually be repaid on yourself. Cause and effect cycles are unhappy, so Buddhism emphasizes good relationships and good deeds. This is like planting a tree. If everyone is willing to plant a tree, wouldn't everyone be able to enjoy the coolness? Even if the tree you planted is cool for others, it is your merit."
