Just this map is a work that is similar to the actual situation drawn by German spies. If you use the maps in the hands of the Soviets, it would probably be fast for the Germans to walk 20 kilometers in the wilderness a day.

The German army was indeed not slow to advance. With the cooperation of the Soviet troops commanded by Zhukov, the German army advanced hundreds of kilometers in just 15 days, and even surrounded Smolensk, which Stalin claimed to not want to lose. However, along the way, the German army's transportation situation fell into a "disaster".

First of all, the old problem is that the Soviet railway standards are different from European railway standards. Although Germany helped the Soviet Union improve some railway construction standards in the early days, it did not solve all the problems. At least in the Moscow region where railways are dense, the Soviets still used their own standards due to cost issues, which made the German army encounter the dilemma of unusable railways near Smolensk.

Then the Soviet roads were not the asphalt roads that the Germans thought. Most Soviet roads were paved with soil, and were just temporary roads according to German standards. These roads, combined with snowfall, reduced the efficiency of road transportation by almost half.

The German team used Wanguo brand cars because of production capacity issues: cars from the British, French and Belgian coalition forces were seized, and civilian cars from their own country were requisitioned. The situation was slightly better. The German off-road cars were used. These cars of different sources performed differently when dealing with mud, which seriously affected the German propulsion speed.

Horses and mules became the main means of transportation for the German army to transport supplies to the front line. This efficiency made the A-Group Army, which had the highest degree of mechanization in the central front line, miserable. The Tiger King tank, Tiger tank, a large number of Leopard tanks and armored vehicles, turned into real oil tigers, making it extremely difficult for Lundstedt to move forward every step forward.

The situation is not how fierce the Soviet Union's resistance was, but looking at the road that seemed endless, the German army lost the courage to take another step forward. Because every step forward, they would lose more cans, more oil, and more ammunition supplies, which sounds desperate.

"And we need time to clear the guerrillas, resisters, and pro-Soviet civilians behind us." Lundstedt continued to Akado helplessly: "These people will try their best to destroy our transportation system, attack our transportation team, blow up bridges, and destroy railways. We must move our troops to expel and suppress these enemies."

"All kinds of things involve our experiences. In fact, the arrival of the SS armed forces has relieved some of our pressure, at least in my troops, this is the case." Lundstedt did not forget to support Akado at this time: "But these troops need better training, which is the best way to reduce their casualties."

"I agree with this point. The Army can train these SS armed forces to make them better at completing their combat missions." Akado nodded, giving enough face to the marshal who supported him.

When Lundstedt saw Akado agreeing with his opinion, he gave him enough face and quickly continued to complain. After all, the real war could not be the commander who took the map and the troops would go wherever they wanted: "My head of state, another problem is the flanking security of the southern cluster and the central cluster."

He said while pointing to a vast area on the map, saying to Akado: "As the war continues to advance, our army's southern cluster has advanced too fast, resulting in a serious shortage of troops extending from near the west bank of the Volga River to the periphery of Smolensk, on such a long front."

"Along such a long line of defense, between the southern cluster and the central cluster, the 1st Army of Ukraine was successively the one in which the army suffered a considerable loss in the battle to capture Kharkov." Lundstedt pointed to the northern part of the M-group Army of Manstein and said to Akkado: "The next one is General Model's D-group Army."

Then he pointed to the flank of the F Army and then introduced: "General Kluge's flank of the F Army is also insufficient. It is a Romanian army, and further south is the Italian Expeditionary Force."

The German army's troops are now like this. To the north is a Finnish army, and then Liszt's e-army. These two armies form the northern cluster of the German army, with the main attack direction being Leningrad, the important northern town of the Soviet Union.

In the middle is Marshal Lundstedt's Army A, and further south is General Kluge's Army F, plus the 1st Army in Romania and the Italian Expeditionary Force. These troops have just formed a central cluster to attack Smolensk and Moscow.

Then further south, there was Model's D Army, Ukraine's 1st Army, Manstein's M Army and Guderian's G Army. Such a strong force formed the southern cluster, with the purpose of foolproof and unsuccessful attack on the Caucasus oil-producing base in the Soviet Union.

The original idea was very simple, to place Model, who was the best at defense, among several unreliable allies of the Axis powers, and rely on the D Group Army to strengthen a weak block on the entire defense line. However, as the war progressed, the German offensive continued to move forward, resulting in the entire front being stretched and extended, making the D Group Army unable to effectively cover the flanks of each cluster.

Akado no longer has military talent, and he also understands Marshal Lundstedt's concerns. He has to admit that this line of defense is fragile, and as the war progresses, it will not be effectively compensated and strengthened in a short period of time. Once the Soviet Red Army launches a counterattack on these areas, even if several German armies in the southern cluster are not surrounded and are wiped out, they will be forced to retreat and end the Caucasus battle and give up the good situation.

Fortunately, the Soviet Union is now in a hurry to shrink its defense line, and there are not so many troops invested in counterattacks. Or the entire Soviet senior management was beaten by the victorious German army. They have not yet correctly analyzed the situation and are considering counterattacks. So this line of defense is still safe at present, but once Zhukov takes his hands out, it is better to expect other miracles to happen than to expect these allies to stick to the defense line.

Sometimes Akado really feels helpless. There is really such a country in the world. Its territory is so vast that it is surprisingly large. The tank, aircraft and cannons that are invincible are almost like a bug in front of it. The blitzkrieg that defeats France with one blow has to be used several times on this country, but the war still cannot end.

"For such a thing, I need to ask the relevant person in charge of the Army's logistics department. Regarding the N-Group Army, O-Group Army and P-Group Army, we urgently need to strengthen the troops in several directions. This is not a joke." Akado looked at the generals sitting farther away, who were officers responsible for German army logistics equipment.

One general was taking out a handkerchief and constantly wiping his sweat, while another general was trying hard to wipe his monocle glasses. Obviously, they didn't want to answer the question of the Head of State Akado directly. After all, the timetable they gave was really shy to speak. But when things were about to come, they had to bite the bullet and talk.

"My head of state is not delayed by the logistics department. The equipment and personnel required by these armies are too poor." A general finally replied in a sympathetically: "When General Hort's J Army was established, the weapons production was almost impossible to keep up, so he had to draw some assault rifles and g43 and other weapons that should have been given to other troops, and then everyone used the inventory of Mauser 98k rifles to make up for it."

"This is just a gap in the rifle, cannons, iron fists, anti-tank rockets, cars, armored vehicles..." He said as he was crying, and it seemed that he had been tortured by people from various armies who came to ask for various supplies: "I'm not complaining, in fact, the industrial department has provided more weapons and equipment to surprise our logistics department, but our expansion speed is too fast. Two years ago, we had only less than one million troops, but now we have to arrange weapons, ammunition, food and equipment for the 7 million troops."

The German army actually did not have 7 million troops, but some SS security forces needed to be armed with weapons, and German allies also imported weapons from Germany from time to time to improve their military strength. This made the German army's weapons distribution stretched.

The armies formed later were simply plundering German stocks. Most of Manstein's troops used Mauser rifles. Although his troops had a large number of cannons, they combined the calibers and models of several British, French, and German countries. In fact, the logistics pressure was very huge.

On the surface, the German armored troops attacked rapidly on the front line, but behind the scenes, the logistics department pieced together, and the thousands of tons of oil they had accumulated had disappeared like evaporation. To be honest, the production capacity of the Romanian oil fields is no longer enough for the German army to squander. The current attack has begun to consume Germany's domestic strategic inventory.
