Chapter 7 7 Brilliant Rainbows
Time flies so fast, and a year passed in a blink of an eye. Akado was abandoned by Germany in an office on the edge of Hamburg city, accompanied by two chairs and a brand new typewriter.
This typewriter was bought by Akado with his salary and was considered private property, because the depressed German industry and the almost zero-down army military expenses would not equip a second lieutenant with such typing things that were not related to combat.
During this period, Akado received a letter from Hitler, saying that he had achieved some success in Munich, and that his speech was appreciated by many dignitaries. The capitalist group that secretly helped Hitler was already quite large. At this moment, Akado was still just a lieutenant stationed in the suburbs of Hamburg. For a whole year, his position had not changed at all.
However, on the distant Scottish sea, a knight stabbed his first sword to fight back against the Treaty of Versailles.
About seventy German warships were escorted to Britain, waiting to be divided by the world's powers. These warships once caused the British to suffer all the hardships in the Battle of Jutland, but now they are about to become the enemy's weapons.
The vicious British soldiers boarded these German ships, escorted batches of German sailors away from their posts with rifles, and the soldiers were about to be sent back to their country. They lost the opportunity to challenge the British maritime power, and lined up in depressed and helplessly, and walked off their beloved warships.
"What push! Do you think you won? No! We were betrayed! I will definitely fight back! Let you also feel what I feel now! Bastard!" A German naval colonel shouted in a group. He was pulled out of the queue and fought with two British soldiers. The scene was in chaos.
On the flagship of the German High Seas Fleet, an old hand grabbed the phone, and a very tired and firm voice rang out: "I am General Ludwig, and I don't want to water the enemy's flowers with German blood. Now I order that all officers are on standby at Tonghai Valve and ready to carry out my next instructions."
General Ludwig von Luth said the order and hung up the phone. He looked at the three officers standing in front of him weakly and whispered: "It's over, gentlemen, our fifty years of hard work, as long as I give you an order, will all sink to the bottom of the sea."
"Sir, we will fight with you in all directions and obey your countless orders. Only this order has humiliated us, but we have to carry out it." An officer said heavyly, saying a standard Prussian military salute.
Another officer also stood up straight, his voice loudly: "We will never give up our warship to the British! I would rather sink with the ship!"
General Ludwig waved his hand and signaled them to stop: "Major General Wells, have most of the sailors been sent back to the country?"
The middle-aged man who did not speak among the three officers stepped forward and replied: "General, the soldiers have been sent more than half by the British. In a few days, our number will be smaller, and then the plan will be implemented."
"It's hard for you to stay and accompany me as an old bone." General Ludwig smiled mockingly, stood up with his chair and said, "If all this place is destroyed by us, it's hard to say whether the British will let us go. I really want you to go back to China with the sailors. You are all rare talents in the German Navy."
"We have been serving the high seas fleet all our lives, General! If God arranges the high seas fleet to be destroyed, I hope I can accompany it for the last part of the road." The first officer who spoke said with tears in his eyes.
"Col. Gubo, thank you." Ludwig smiled reluctantly.
On June 21, 1919, on a peaceful day, General Ludwig picked up the phone with his trembling hands and gave the most important order in his life: "Operation Rainbow begins! All warships sink themselves!"
The seagulls chirped in the distance, everything was still so natural, the sea breeze blew on everyone's face, and two British soldiers were smoking on the deck of a German destroyer. Not far away, three officers in British naval uniforms came towards him. The two of them hurriedly stood attentively and saluted.
"Is the situation normal?" After returning a military salute, the British official in the middle asked with a smile. Now every British man smiled because they won the First World War and this was their trophy.
"Report to Colonel Merede! Everything is normal here! The Germans can't play any tricks!" the soldier replied loudly.
Suddenly the battleship under his feet shook slightly, Colonel Mereid frowned. He raised his head and looked at the German battleship Frederick the Great in the distance, and suddenly widened his eyes and didn't know what kind of fright he was.
"Oh God! The Caesar battleship! Why did the Caesar battleship tilt? Quick! Notify everyone! Keep an eye on the Germans! Quick!" After a brief silence for about ten seconds, he came to his senses and ordered loudly.
He waved his hand and signaled to the two soldiers in front of him: "Come to the cabin immediately! When you encounter suspicious German soldiers, you will open fire immediately! Now we will take over this ship! Quick!"
Before Colonel Merede finished speaking, the destroyer under his feet with the hull number g102 trembled again, and the entire hull began to tilt slightly to the right.
The two soldiers immediately raised their guns and ran towards the cabin. The two British officials who did not speak also pulled out the pistols from their waists and followed them in a hurry. Colonel Meret, who was standing on the deck, said nothing, held the slightly shaking railing, and watched the battleship Catherine not far away start to sink slowly.
"Who are you? British people are not allowed to enter here! We have not handed over the warships to you yet!" A rushing German came from behind him.
"Get out of the way! Or we will open the fire!" An official shouted loudly.
"Bang!" The gunshots began.
In the distance, gunshots began to come, and the entire silent German high seas fleet seemed to come alive again. The Germans relied on the terrain to fight back, using pistols that they had not been confiscated officers, and relying on the limited number of bullets to prevent the British from entering the cabin.
Soon, the battleship of the German High Seas Fleet flagship, Frederick the Great, sank, and a huge vortex appeared on the sea, devouring the entire steel giant beast. The command flag of the German High Seas Fleet flew stubbornly to the end.
Then, the Catherine also disappeared on the sea, and the entire sea was in chaos. The warships of the German fleet sank one after another. The British caught off guard and began to seize the remaining warships in a hurry.
About 47 German ships, including almost all of the battleships, sank into the seabed, and more than 70 German high seas warships, the British rescued only 23.
Colonel Merede leaned against the railing of the destroyer G102 and smoked, watching the remaining German warships tilted around the sea. Because of the timely rescue, the destroyer did not sink to the bottom of the sea. The soldiers killed four German officials and closed the sea valve in time. However, the warship had been tilted forty-five degrees, and it looked like it was on the verge of sinking.
On a British barge, the remaining German naval officers were imprisoned together. They were confiscated with guns and swords that symbolize their identity. Half of them even had handcuffs. However, they had a victory smile on their faces. They succeeded, and the German high seas fleet did not fall into the hands of the British and French.
The news flew back to Germany like wings. Everyone was excited. At the first moment, the German diplomats started to work. They tried their best to get these German heroes who had made amazing moves home.
Just as this shipwreck plan that shocked the world, code-named "Operation Rainbow", was implementing, Akado was using his brand new typewriter to type a report. He had accomplished his mission brilliantly. Now every soldier of the 103rd and 105th regiments can face the poison gas attack calmly.
With the ashes of the high seas fleet, the German army has been compressed to 920,000 people, and most of the soldiers have lost their heavy weapons, countless cannons and machine guns have been destroyed in a concentrated manner, and the German senior management is on the verge of collapse. In comparison, the newly formed 103rd Regiment stationed in Hamburg and the 105th Regiment still maintains combat effectiveness and maintains daily combat training.
As the situation further got out of control, the 105th Regiment was ordered to rush to the Ruhr area to calm the increasing riots there.
Before leaving, Cruze, the leader of the 105th Regiment, came to Akado's office, sat opposite Akado's desk, knocked his legs crossed, and threw his white gloves on the coffee table. He looked at Akado's new typewriter, and then said, "We are going to set out in the afternoon and rush to the Ruhr area. President Fredrich Ebert found that the old army that had already broken could not complete the task of maintaining public order, so he ordered the headquarters to allocate the newly formed National Defense Forces. There were more and more chaos."
"People will soon find that such a mess of noisy will only drag their own people down. Only good order can make Germany stand up again," Akado said while typing.
He didn't even raise his head, and Cruze on the opposite side didn't care. He knew how many lieutenants Akad were sitting on the table had a lot of knowledge and knew German politics and military well. He benefited a lot when chatting with the lieutenant, so he did not underestimate him because of his low rank.
"Sometimes I even suspect that you have been a general, Akado." Cruze said with a smile: "I have written to recommend you. I guess the letter will be in Berlin in the next few days. Good luck."
Akado stopped typing and raised his head and stared at Cruze in surprise: "I have just been promoted to second lieutenant for a year. Even if you recommend me, you will be put on hold because I am not qualified enough."
"Just you said, I always have to try it for the future of Germany." Kruze laughed.
