Chapter Five Hundred and Twenty: The Battle Begins [Tal]
The barbarian soldiers' queues have spread more than a mile from the critical city; however, the densely packed soldiers in the city still do not seem to be in an exhausting situation.
The dark and shiny armor reflects the brilliance of the sun at the corners; the neat steps and movements can exude power without roaring.
The vanguard climbed the Mosen Mountains and walked forward until the first "luck" prepared by the Corey people for them stopped.
This is a ditch about one meter wide and deep, crossing the road and extending all the way to the forest; from the traces of the soil, this ditch is very new - in fact, it only appeared this morning.
The warriors of the Korri were long ago hollowing out the ground below the mountain road and then supporting it with wood; when the barbarians showed signs of attack, they would remove the wood and then use weapons to slap them on the road - it would only take a quarter of an hour to fall into the pit;
This trap obviously cannot stop the barbarian soldiers; but it is enough to delay their progress and create time for launching an attack - there are several similar roadblocks on the mountain.
It is obviously not the first time that the barbarian has dealt with this situation.
With a shout, the entire team stopped one after another; the sound of shouting was transmitted to the rear through a fixed messenger, and arrived at the critical city all the way - the whole process was orderly and had a strange beauty like a domino.
It is impossible to go around. The forest is the world of the Kori tribe; the soldiers who cannot complete the entire line are at a disadvantage in the face of the elusive Kori tribe.
The engineers in the vanguard team pulled out tool shovels and began to quickly renovate the road surface - the requirements did not need to be too high, just to allow soldiers to pass; digging the originally vertical pit walls to fill the arcs that could pass through will not take long for the strong and experienced soldiers - at least it would be much easier than digging out this large and unscrupulous ditch.
Another part of the pioneer—the heavy armored soldiers raised their shields to protect the engineer’s flanks and stared at the forests on both sides—apparently, it was easier for the attack to get the queue into chaos.
The road was cut down by barbarians of all ages and was almost impossible to run away if they wanted to fight. Taal looked at the orcas whose expression had stabilized. How would he order to resist the barbarian's attack?
The barbarian engineers at the foot of the mountain were waving the shovel quickly; soon they dug up a slope enough for the soldiers to enter the bottom on one side of the pit wall.
It seems that half of the ditch has been reimbursed. Taal thought with regret that it is a bit broader than it can be seen how much effort the soldiers here have put into digging it.
It only takes about the same time, and the ditches will be useless; although the barbarian soldiers cannot climb the vertical pit walls, the steep slopes are not at all problem... Such a large amount of work is just to block such a short time?
The orca still did not issue combat orders, and only the wind was whistling on the entire wall.
Taal did not show any doubts - he still tried hard to maintain his indifference; the orca must have some solutions.
Until the engineer dug the other side of the pit wall into a slope that the warrior could pass, the orca did not give a single order; he maintained that posture, without even making a gesture.
The engineers completed their work and returned to the team and reorganized the queue with the heavy armored soldiers;
With a command, the team continued to move forward.
They compress slightly in the ditches—after all, the ramp width is limited;
After climbing up the hill, the soldiers continued to disperse and spread out in a row; although this consumed a certain amount of their physical strength, it was not very useful.
The team continued to spread towards the Storm Pass, and the oppression of the soldiers became stronger and stronger;
The stone pier-like wall is no longer indestructible in the minds of the warriors - after all, the fire magic bottle can easily blow up the cliff wall;
If they were allowed to successfully reach the gates, the entire battle would be almost defeated.
The barbarian team had already walked about one-tenth of the mountain road, and the vanguard had approached the second ditch;
While observing the situation on the battlefield, Taal guessed the possible measures that the orcas might take;
Amy poked his arm quietly; signaling him to look outside the battlefield—a river that was still wide was flowing happily in the direction Amy pointed; it was not very far from the road.
Taal suddenly realized.
"The first line of defense is started." At the same time, the Orca issued an order in a calm tone.
The messenger beside him blew the horn; the sound of the horn was not deafening, and with this volume, it would definitely not be transmitted at the foot of the mountain;
But Tar saw that not far from the first ditch, the branches of a forest were indeed shaking - it was a signal that there were Corey warriors moving.
The horn should have sounded directly there at the same time, Taal thought.
Due to the obscurity of the woods, Tar could not see clearly what was going on there;
But soon, there was a riot in the first ditch - the soldiers' originally neat queues began to become messy, and some barbarians even began to retreat - and there was obviously no half of the Corey warriors;
The barbarians broke away from the ditch one after another, and the team stopped because of this;
At this moment, Tal could see what was inside the ditches--as I guessed just now, Orca ordered the soldiers to lure the stream over!
The stream quickly filled the ditches at a speed visible to the naked eye; soldiers wearing heavy armor could not swim across it.
At this time, there were less than a thousand barbarian soldiers passing through the ditches.
"First array, attack!" The orca's breath was a little more messy than before.
There were shouts of killing and roaring monsters in the woods on both sides of the ditch - this was the time when it was really supposed to attack!
After a few breaths, the monsters rushed out of the forest first; the soldiers followed closely behind and shouted together to attack the isolated and helpless vanguard team of crossing the river!
The strong and powerful demonized wild boar and the fierce and sensitive demon wolf. These two most common monsters are the main force of the first array;
After experiencing a brief panic, the barbarian vanguard team quickly sorted out the battle formation - the road is so spacious for this!
By the time the faster-running demon wolf came to the front of the array, the heavy soldiers had already protected the engineers; facing the solid shields and armor, the demon wolf had no strength, it was futile-
But they did not select heavy soldiers as targets of attack.
They roared and rushed towards the soldiers' shields; after reaching the target, they did not bite, but used the shield as a springboard to exert force again and jumped into the inside of the array - their targets were engineers with not heavy armor!
The bounce process is so skillful that in the blink of an eye, more than a dozen demon wolves leaped over the protection circle of heavy soldiers!
Taal raised his brow slightly. Is this the training of Storm Stadium for the monsters?
