Chapter 411: Breaking Through the Middle Realm [Tal]

Middle border.

Although the Central and Western borders of the Kingdom of Fares are connected, if both sides want to communicate, they usually take the sea route;

Because the location where the two intersect is really embarrassing.

The entire northern part of the Kingdom of Fares contacts the Mosen Mountains; this Mosen Mountains extends a wide and vast ridge that almost completely separates the west of the Kingdom from other areas.

The reason why it is said to be "close" is because there is still a little connection.

Thousands of years ago, the King of Fareth tried to build a main road here to completely open up the Western and Central Territory;

He succeeded—but failed.

It is extremely easy for the king to mobilize the people to cut down forests and build roads; but no one can do anything to curb the fierce and violent monsters on the Mosen Mountains.

They are far more powerful than the usual monsters - one or two "lead"-level monsters will often appear, and even the army will have to pay a considerable price to kill them - or to drive them away; a more practical way is to "please move it a little bit."

The powerful monsters here even stimulated the entire kingdom's research on attack magic.

After a long time, people realized that this was the "end" of the Mosen Mountains;

If the monsters consciously kept moving in the mountains, they would eventually arrive here and had nowhere to go except to go down the mountain.

...What can I do? I can't go back and tell my family the "beast" that I saw something along the way, right?

...Then go down!

After collaborative research by scholars and magicians, some of this seemingly absurd speculation was found to be true.

After more detailed research, it was discovered that the monster encountered something in the north of the Mosen Mountains.

A very scary thing.

It was this thing that even the monsters could not stand, which forced them to escape all the way to the south of the mountains;

When they descended at the end of the Mosen Mountains, the pitiful junction of the Central and Western Frontiers, their consciousness became less clear;

They are keen on killing and hold far more than normal malicious intentions towards anything they do;

Even if you are full, you will fight against the animals or monsters you encounter, and will not eat them after killing them, and will just leave;

Even plants and trees are sometimes hard to escape the poison. Antarctic Mountains - the name at the end of the Mosen Mountains - often appear terriblely destroyed trees, shrubs, and hillsides that look far less lush than other places.

It is simply unrealistic to build roads in such places; those monsters often come suddenly, and are surprisingly strong and cannot cope with them. It is too dangerous;

It didn't take much complicated calculations. The king believed that the money needed to maintain this road was far greater than that of shipping, and the level of safety was several levels worse. Since then, the roads here have been in ruins.

"So, this road has been... a thousand years?" Taal's mouth twitched in surprise;

"That's true." Amy nodded, "In this thousand years, someone may have walked here, but there has been no renovation at all... This place has been abandoned."

Taal was shocked. Amy really knew everything... She just asked casually, and she could master it clearly.

This "millennium road" is parallel to the direction of the tribe warriors.

The two thousand Korri soldiers led by Taal were scattered in the forest, moving forward without any rush;

Part of it discovered the ruins of this road.

No one has repaired it for thousands of years, and the main body of this road has long been found; if it weren't for the remains of some remains of the road left when the road was built, no one would have believed that someone had ever been active here.

"The people of the Kingdom of Fares are really good at this..." Taal looked at the stones piled up at his feet. They were no longer neat under the erosion of the sun and rain, but the obviously unnatural straight line still exists.

In places with relatively harsh soil conditions, the Fares would first lay a pile of stones and then build roads - this is the remains that can be preserved for thousands of years.

"Even in the Kingdom of Fares, roads with stones as foundations are not very common... The kings of that time attached great importance to this road, but they could not stop the power of the monsters." Amy said, pointing ahead - where she pointed, the stones were no longer neatly arranged.

They were lifted up from the ground quite roughly and pushed away, as if they were under a huge impact, and stones larger than people scattered far away;

For the already unconscious monsters, this raised stone path may touch their anger, and then...

It's quite expensive to repair a period of time.

"Oh, even a thousand years ago, their conditions were much better than those of the Corey tribe!" Tar sighed, "Even now, there was a heavy rain in the mountains, and the road was so muddy that it could not be left... How good is this stone road!"

Amy nodded slightly, without saying anything - along the way, Tal expressed his envy of life on the plains more than once.

Rich and fertile arable land, relatively safe forests, and mighty and tall city walls... Why can't the Corey people have these?

"Well...you know everything, you know everything. Calling this knowledge is not considered using the power of the black dragon, right?" Tarr asked.

"Of course that doesn't count," Amy's reply made Taal look a little relaxed, but her next sentence soon made Taal feel a little uncomfortable again: "The Black Dragon had already engraved it in his mind when he created me."

The existence of that big black lizard... is really nauseating; why can such a "black" and "evil" existence create a "pure" and "beautiful" person like Amy? Tal has never figured it out.

"All the master's disgust is wonderful for the Black Dragon." Amy added another sentence - this unconventional aesthetic of being scolded and being happy made Tarr's disgusting towards the Black Dragon to a higher level.

Even if the black dragon is silent, Tar could feel its influence on him - if Amy hadn't used its power to blow the city wall open, everyone would not have been able to escape;

After blasting the city wall, Amy's pupils changed color for a while; although she didn't say a word, just "blasting the city wall" was enough to explain to Tarr the importance of "power";

And while leading the tribal warriors to break through, Taal was able to realize how refreshing it was to have "power" at all times;

In the minds of these two thousand people, Tar's image has almost deified - he is the one who was truly chosen by the Black Dragon;

Respect, value, obey orders, and follow orders. Anyone who is in such a position as Taal will feel a great sense of accomplishment;

But the more Taal was surrounded by this achievement, the more he felt that the black dragon's will was constantly oppressing...
