Chapter 22 The fault is always someone else

Zhao Xiaoqin walked away that day.

He took nothing except the clothes he wore and the small amount of money he borrowed from Dongyang.

The Zhao family thought she just went out for a walk in anger, and would come back obediently if she was hungry and cold.

One day, two days, one week, two weeks, and half a month later, the village schools were on holiday. Before Zhao Xiaoqin came back, the Zhao parents realized that their daughter was really leaving and did not go out for a walk with them.

The Zhao family cried and urinated everywhere and looked for someone. The village chief also called on the villagers to help find him. Unfortunately, the time passed too long and the person was gone and he could not find him at all.

Carpenter Zhao and his wife never thought it was their fault. After living a sad and anxious life, they began to shirk responsibility. They said to the outside world that Zhao Xiaoqin was disobedient and had a high spirit of heart. She was a girl and didn't stay outside for long, and she would come back sooner or later.

After blaming Zhao Xiaoqin, they pointed their finger at Li Dongyang.

Before Zhao Xiaoqin left, she came to find her if she had nothing to do. Then Zhao Xiaoqin's departure must be unrelated to her. Maybe she was the one who instigated Zhao Xiaoqin to leave. The Zhao family thought so.

Carpenter Zhao's wife sat at Dongyang's doorstep and cried and shouted, "Dongyang must return their daughter," and said that if Zhao Xiaoqin had a good time, she would fight Dongyang forever.

Dongyang only lived his own life as usual. She let her cry, but she was not the one who was cold outside.

She was calm, but someone was uneasy for her.

The village chief’s wife came to the door and had a good chat with Dongyang. She first asked her indirectly if Zhao Xiaoqin’s departure had anything to do with her. After getting the answer, she advised her to explain the matter clearly to Carpenter Zhao’s wife and advised Carpenter Zhao’s wife to go home quickly and stop making trouble.

Dongyang felt that it was useless to explain himself. Carpenter Zhao's wife would not listen, but she decided to give it a try in view of the village chief's wife.

The result of the attempt proved that her guess was correct. Not only did Carpenter Zhao's wife not only disobeyed her, but also scolded her. If she hadn't seen her sick look, she was afraid of making her popular again and Dongyang would really want to fight back.

It was thankless, and Dongyang ignored anyone who persuaded him. The village chief’s wife had no choice but to persuade him again and again. Later, it was Carpenter Zhao’s wife who was frozen and sick, so she stopped coming to make trouble.

It was quiet outside, but Old Mrs. Wu was still worried: "If she makes such a fuss, the villagers might say what to say to you. Don't ignore these things. In a few days, Xiaoshan's parents came over and would definitely be even more dissatisfied with you when they heard the villagers say anything. What should you do?"

Now the school has been on holiday. Zhang Kuang received a reply from his home the first few days, confirming that Wen’s parents would come after the winter vacation. In the past few days, Mrs. Wu was very nervous and lay on the kang to direct Dongyang to work and clean up the house inside and outside.

Not all that was over. Old Mrs. Wu wanted Wen’s parents to eat better here, and asked Dongyang to sift some good beans to make tofu by herself.

This made Dongyang embarrassed.

She has Wu Qing’s memory, so she naturally knows how to make tofu, but the key to the problem is that having memory is two different things and doing it yourself.

She kept looking for reasons to drag it back, and she had not made the tofu until now. When she talked to Mrs. Wu for no reason, she was most afraid that she would suddenly mention this matter, so she had to find a reason to drag it back.

"If they really don't like me from the bottom of their hearts, they don't like me even if the villagers praise me as a flower. If there are any villagers who say so, there is no impact, don't worry." Dongyang advised.

Old Mrs. Wu was still worried and sighed and scolded her with great heart. After scolding her, she ordered her to remove the quilt.

"The people in the city must love to clean. There are no new quilts in our house. Just remove all the quilts in the cabinet and wash them well. It's still too late to wash them now. Don't wait until someone arrives and think about washing them. That's not too late?" Old Mrs. Wu said a little naggingly.

Dongyang was helpless: "Milk, the quilt at home was washed only last month. We didn't cover it, so we didn't need to wash it. It's been quite sunny these two days, so I'll take it out and dry it."

"We have been using this quilt for many years, and even the newly washed ones don't look good. Otherwise, if you go to someone's house to borrow two beds, and give them two dustpans of soybeans when you pay it back," Mrs. Wu began to think about it again.

Dongyang knew what Mrs. Wu was thinking, but she just felt that her family was too dilapidated and old, and she was afraid that the Wen family would dislike her.

But the conditions at home are just like this, and it is not something that can make people look up to you just by just a few quilts and meals.

In fact, this family is not as bad as Old Mrs. Wu thought. The house is dilapidated, without new furniture, quilts, pillows, etc., and it is also old. But the house is clean and tidy, and the pigpens outside are cleaner than other houses. The grain codes in the shed are neatly arranged, and the firewood piles beside the sticks are neatly crafted. These are all rare.

"My mother, let's not worry about this. They really look down on it and there is nothing they can do," Dong Yang advised helplessly.

He didn't instruct his granddaughter, but Old Mrs. Wu still didn't give up: "If you don't lend the quilt, don't lend it. You can make the tofu quickly. Even if you don't treat Xiaoshan's parents, we have to eat it at our own home."

The next sentence touches the sun.

There are no vegetables at home now, just potatoes, cabbage and some pickles. She is not much younger, and it is really not suitable to let the old lady eat these all day long.

But this tofu was not something she could make just because she wanted to make it. She had no confidence in herself, so she simply asked the village chief’s wife for help.

The village chief’s wife was quite puzzled: “Didn’t you do it yourself before? Why did you think about getting me to help this time?”

Dongyang had prepared the answer and replied: "It's not my breasts yet. She is so nervous. She is not at ease when I am alone. I can ask my aunt for help and she can worry less."

The village chief’s wife smiled and said to Dongyang about the nothing in the village.

There is no farm work to do in the middle of winter, and the young and strong men in the village go into the mountains to log and carry wood. The women in the village like to gossip when they are idle and have nothing to do. The village chief’s wife has always been the most informative gossip in the village. She doesn’t have to talk to herself without talking to her. Just listening to her gossip is particularly interesting.

In recent times, except for Zhao Xiaoqin's affairs, the matters of Li Bai's family are the most worthwhile.

Li Bai's family was the only one who was himself. He was afraid that the food and things from his family would be moved away from the mountain to do side businesses, so he stayed at home honestly without going anywhere.

Before winter, he exchanged grain for a few sheep from the neighboring village. It was great to let her sheep be at home without any trouble. Unfortunately, his brother and sister didn't expect him to get well at all. They sneaked into his house to move a lot of food away while he went to herd sheep and moved away a lot of food. Somehow, they found a place to hide their money. Li Bai's little family background almost made them go away.

Li Bai was very angry and chased him over to ask for his own money and food. In the end, he not only did not come back but was beaten.
