Chapter Thirteen: Unloading Eight Pieces
Chapter 13: A big deal (")
Gris squatted on the roof of the laboratory building, silently looking at the Magic Academy under the night.
In the past, his vision on the balcony was not as wide as here, and he could not get a glimpse of the whole picture. When Alex agreed to leave the room, he came here as soon as possible and looked at the things he could not see below.
The brightly lit main teaching building is clearly visible under the reflection of the magic torch, and most windows are brightly lit. Although there are no special courses in the evening, many students like to come to the classroom to review the knowledge they have learned for a day, especially those students from poor families. Using candles in the dormitory is obviously not as good as the magic lamps specially equipped in each classroom.
The square under the bishop's school is full of people, and occasionally some magic light flashes, which are students who have learned new magic and are practicing or showing off. It seems that there are still people who are happy, but the distance is too far, and the sound cannot be heard here.
This is a vibrant world. Gris compared the scene in front of him with the silent world of death, and suddenly felt that this world was better.
There is no killing, no danger, no boredom, lively and colorful.
The college is already so beautiful, what kind of excitement will the outside world be? For the first time, Gris had the idea of going out to see the outside world.
It took a whole night on the roof until the sun jumped out of the horizon and emitted an increasingly hotter light that Gris returned to the lab.
Alex came to the laboratory just a few minutes after eight o'clock. This was almost the first time he came to the laboratory so early. It was not until midnight that it was almost impossible for Gris to see him. Alex seemed in a bad mood today, and his face was as if someone owed him millions. After coming to the laboratory, he did not say hello to Gris. He jumped down from the library's bookcase and looked for something. Finally, he moved a big box on the top of a large bookshelf.
The box is only half a meter long and two palms wide. Although it is not large in size, it looks very substantial. Alex is exhausted and panting just by holding it down. He is just a weak mage, and this kind of physical work is not suitable for him.
When the box was moved to the ground, it made a dull metal impact sound when it landed on the ground. It turned out to be an iron box.
Alex reached his left hand onto the box, and a slight magic wave turbulently began to appear. His palm immediately covered with a layer of water mark. He applied the palm to the box, and some dust on it was immediately brushed clean, showing a dark metallic luster.
"Gris, move it to the table." Alex stroked the iron box with both hands and suddenly ordered Gris.
After moving the iron box to the table and looking at the exquisite patterns on it, Gris couldn't help but wonder what would be inside. He was not a curious skeleton before, but in the six months since he arrived here, he had been exposed to too many unprecedented things. Now Gris' curiosity has gradually been cultivated.
Alex was not in a hurry to open the box, but slowly rubbed the surface of the box with his hands, and a look of remembrance appeared on his face.
After more than ten minutes, Alex's expression of remembrance was reduced, and he gathered some magic on his index finger and gently pressed it on the center of the pattern on the front of the box.
Gris, who had almost memorized all the books in the library, knew that this was a magic pattern lock. The magic pattern lock was the most precise type of magic lock, which was opened by specific magic waves. Each magician's own magic power fluctuation is different. Except for the original owner, it is impossible for others to open the lock by non-violent means.
There was a clear sound, as if something had broken, and a gap appeared in the iron box that was originally integrated.
In the box was an old dagger, a faded ribbon, a women's necklace with exquisite workmanship but ordinary materials, and a badge that was so old that it was not shining. These four ordinary things were locked into the box with magic pattern lock by Alex. Obviously, these things were very precious to him.
Looking at the items in the box, Alex's face once again showed a look of nostalgia, completely falling into memories.
Suddenly, the light in front of Alex dimmed, interrupting his thoughts. He looked up and saw Gris leaning against him with his skull, staring at the things in the box.
Holding the badge in his hand from the box, Alex slowly rubbed it. Feeling Gris' curiosity, he suddenly felt a kind of confidant in his heart.
"Want to know where these things come from?" Alex asked.
Gris nodded.
Alex stroked the badge on his hand and fell into deep thought. After a while, he said slowly in an extremely sighing tone: "I am a person with a story..."
"This badge is the exclusive badge for the adventure team formed by my youth and my friends. It was designed by my best friend before. That guy is an extremely perfectionist. Even a badge of an adventure team with no reputation and level, he will make it perfect. This badge took a lot of energy, and many high-level mercenaries may not have such exquisite badges." Alex said slowly in a tone with a little disdain and a little proud.
The Adventure Squad? The Best Companion? It is more exquisite than many mercenary groups? In a passage, Gris caught three points.
As he said that, Alex took out the ribbon from the box again. The ribbon had faded, but the embroidery patterns on it were very exquisite. If it was brand new, it should be worth a lot of money.
"This ribbon belongs to my wife Lilith. By the way, I haven't told you about my wife, right?" Alex looked up at Gris and asked uncertainly.
Gris shook his head. In his memory, Alex had never told him anyone except occasionally cursing an annoying person called the Director of the Teaching.
"Well, Lilith is my wife, a very beautiful and gentle woman." When he said this, Alex's face showed a very gentle expression, but soon, he seemed to think of something, his eyebrows hopped, and added: "Before."
Before? What was before? Before? Was it gentle? Gris didn't quite understand the meaning of the last sentence, and a big question mark appeared in his mind.
"This ribbon was given to Lilith by that guy, this bastard." Alex cursed viciously.
Alex took the dagger into his hand again and continued, "This was given to me by that guy, and he threatened me that if I didn't treat Lilith well, he would stab me with this dagger. This nosy guy, my wife is mine, how can he love to take care of him?" Alex's tone was very unhappy.
He sighed again: "It's been twenty years, and I thought that guy was dead."
After saying that, he looked up at Gris and asked, "Do you understand?"
Gris shook his head very simply. How could he understand? He was just a little skeleton, and he had never seen many people. With such a complicated relationship, Alex described it in just a few words, it would be strange if he could understand it.
Alex's face showed a look of knowing this before, and he smiled very badly: "I know you don't understand, if you understand, I won't tell you, hehe."
Gris tilted his head and stared at Alex silently for no reason.
Alex smiled, put the ribbon badge and other back into the box, and covered it casually, but did not put the magic pattern lock on it. Obviously, he had untied a knot in his heart, and these things no longer needed to be kept secret.
"Tell you something. There will be an academic exchange meeting next month, and that guy will appear. This time I decided to be led by me. I may have to leave for a while. You stay here obediently and don't run around, do you know?" Alex changed the topic.
Academic Exchange Meeting? The one Jimmy said?
Is it a magical academic exchange meeting? Gris took out the wooden board and wrote it on it.
"Do you know this? Oh, that little guy told you, right? Well, his name seems to be in the lower grade." He had known Jimmy for a long time, and Gris knew that he knew that only Jimmy would foolishly think that he could hide it from a great magician.
"Can you take me there?" Gris wrote on the board.
"Take you there?" Alex frowned and looked at Gris and asked, "You want to go too? Why? Worry about that little guy?"
Gris shook his head: "I don't know what to do here." In the Death World, Gris stayed in front of the cave entrance for nineteen generations of lords, because there was no idea what to do. But in this world, there were too many things to do, and if possible, he wanted to go and see.
"Can you read a book?" He remembered that Gris liked reading very much. Basically, every day when he came to the living room, he could see Gris staying in the library, holding a book in his hand.
"It's over," Gris wrote on the board.
"Look it again. Just watch it once, you can't do it. You have to understand and remember it." Alex was a little unreasonable.
"Remember it." Gris wrote a sentence on the board that almost made Alex jump.
"Have you recited it? He has all been recited?" Alex opened his mouth in disbelief and his chin was almost falling to the ground. The six months he spent with Gris had made him understand Gris' personality very well. Basically, Gris is a very honest skeleton and never tells lies. Gris remembered it, and he must have remembered it all. This is impossible for ordinary people, but it is not impossible for Gris, a perverted skeleton. He has experienced Gris' perverted memory many times.
However, this fact still exceeded his psychological endurance, which made him unable to help but lose his composure.
Gris nodded.
"Uh..." Alex was speechless. After a while, he knocked his head hard. When Gris said he wanted to follow, he refused. But now after asking these questions, it seems that Gris tried to memorize all the books in order to follow. It seems that he did not agree to this, which seemed inhumane.
After his eyes rolled, Alex stammered and said, "You are so ugly, you will scare people when you go out, right?"
"I don't see anyone." Gris wrote on the board that he just wanted to go and see. As for how he looked, he had no idea. He had no idea about beauty and ugliness, but if he didn't see anyone, he wouldn't be scared.
"How could it be that no one could be seen? You are so big that you can't see the blind man." Alex responded angrily. In fact, it's not much different whether to take Gris with him or not. He has many ways to hide his eyes, but Alex, who is lazy, hates trouble, and he can avoid it if he can.
Gris turned his head, swept around the laboratory, and then walked towards the corner. There was a cabinet in the corner with some debris on it, including a suitcase.
Gris cleared out all the debris in the suitcase and dragged it back.
Alex looked at Gris's actions inexplicably. What's the use of holding a suitcase? Want to put himself in? Only one-third of the suitcase is tall, and he can't hold Gris who is almost 1.8 meters tall.
Drag the suitcase to Alex and open the lid. Then Gris sat on the ground, grabbed his leg bones with both hands, twisted them, and removed one leg. As the method was used, the other leg was also removed. Then he gestured the height of the box, stretched his hand to the vertebrae, twisted it hard, and removed the pelvic bones. Then he supported his upper body, got into the box and lay down flat, stretched his hand out of the box, picked up his pelvic bones and so on into the box, and stacked it on his body. Then he reached out and pulled the lid of the suitcase and covered it.
Alex looked at Gris in amazement and took off his body, putting it on and covering it with the cover. The expression on his face twitched, which was very exciting.
The lid of the suitcase was opened, Gris supported his upper body, and his empty eyes were staring at Alex in blue light.
