Chapter 21 Invitations and Reminders

In the apartment near Nakano Station, Shimizu Tetsu subconsciously tapped the desktop with his pen tip. The notebook that recorded what he saw in Kotanshe today was spread out at hand, and the content on it had become inspiration for the new book during the thoughts after supper.

I read these already familiar contents again, and I wanted to find some interesting ideas from them. However, after thinking hard for a while, I only felt the swelling and pain of excessive use of my brain.

After understanding the truth that too much is not enough, Qingshuichi sighed, threw down his pen and leaned on the sofa for a while to rest.

My thinking gradually became empty, and some fragments that were originally suppressed deep in my brain floated up. There was the inexplicable familiarity of the day of preaching, the shapes of the card I saw during the day, and the things he thought he had forgotten but unexpectedly found himself remembering.

Scrambled scenes flashed by like glittering shadows, and thoughts finally stopped in a portrait, which was his own portrait.

After losing his leisurely mood to lie down again, Shimizu Tetsu got up and took out his wallet from his pocket. The sketch he got from Nanami Nanami had been carefully put away by him. Now only the paper with the numbers written on it is still lying in the mezzanine of the wallet.

Without opening it to see it, the string of numbers will automatically emerge from the memory.

Moving his fingers into the phone, Shimizuki looked out the window again. The sky still had the unique blue-white appearance that was just beginning to night.

This time is over, and it shouldn't bother her...

Thinking of this, Shimizuki pressed the dial button.

------

In a convenience store in Adachi District, Nanami, Shimimi just placed her newly arrived products neatly in the bottom row of the shelves, and she heard the store manager's voice.

"Seven see, can you come here?"

"OK."

After responding, he stood up straight with his waist and arrived at the counter, the store manager in his forties was waiting.

"It's Golden Week soon. Do you have any plans for Qi?

Japan's Golden Week is a series of holidays from late April to early May, which is late spring and early summer, which is logically a good day for travel.

But I don't seem to have enough time to play easily.

After a bitter smile in his heart, Nanami shook her head gently.

The store manager was indeed overjoyed: "Then will you come to the store then?"

"OK."

The hourly wages on holidays are much higher than usual.

"That's great," the plump shop manager slapped his trembling chest and breathed a sigh of relief. "Those kids are all going on a trip, and they also said they would accompany their family and girlfriend, which made me unable to force them. If you don't come again, I won't know what to do in those days."

As she felt relaxed, the store manager's memory seemed to have improved a lot. She patted her head, turned around and took out a plastic box from behind and handed it over.

"I made more fried meatballs for supper. I almost forgot it when I thought about bringing them to you. I remember to take them away later."

He was stared at with a kind look of his younger generation, and even Qi Jian could not find a reason to refuse, so he could only bow seriously while taking the opportunity.

"Thank you so much."

"It's nothing. I accidentally did too much," the store manager waved his hand angrily, not knowing what he thought of again, and suddenly said, "You have to have a good meal."

Qi Jian laughed and looked at the streets gradually being covered by night behind the transparent glass, without saying a word.

The store manager was still nagging, talking about the neighbor's daughter who ended up going to the hospital because she had too little meals, and sometimes lamenting the strange ways that young people have used to maintain their figure.

Qi saw absent-mindedly responding.

Suddenly, a cell phone ringtone rang and echoed in the slightly empty store.

"Sorry, I..."

"It's okay, there are no customers now, go now."

Thanking her, Nanami saw that she walked a few steps to the street outside the store. The temperature of the day had faded, and the coolness of the night gradually made her clench her cuffs.

Looking at the phone, there were strange numbers on the screen. She hesitated for a moment, but still pressed the answer button.

"This is Qijian, who is it?"

The opposite side seemed to have not expected someone to answer the answer. After she finished speaking, it took a few seconds before a voice came.

"I'm Shimizu Tetsu."

------

The long sound in the earpiece has been played several times, and Shimizu Tetsu had already answered her phone number without any expectations.

Maybe the phone is not around, maybe it is set to mute, or maybe it is a natural vigilance towards unfamiliar numbers...

Unconsciously speculating on various possibilities in his mind, so that he did not react immediately when the phone was connected.

It was not until the other party's voice had been heard several times in his ears that he replied in a rescue manner.

"I'm Shimizu Tetsu."

"Qingshuisan?"

Her voice rose, as if she was a little surprised, but she immediately returned to calm, "Sorry for something just now. Is there anything wrong with calling this time?"

While Shimizu Tetsu packed up the paper that had just been broken, he brought the long-prepared speeches to use.

"Well. Didn't I forget to bring my wallet last time? So I thought about finding time to give you the money."

"That, no need, right? It's just a sketch."

"No, in my opinion, Qi Jiansang is really good in painting, so I will treat it as my intention. I hope Qi Jiansang can find a job in painting."

The words were already spoken, but the other end of the phone fell silent. When I tried my best to listen, I could only hear some of the sounds of vehicles passing by.

As he waited, Shimizuchi felt that the room suddenly fell into silence. All he could feel was his heartbeat and the sound of the clock turning longer.

The silence over there was a long time. The scale supported by expectations had begun to tilt slowly, and the thoughts inevitably slid in a certain direction. Just as they reached the lowest point, they were suddenly stopped by a word.

"Oh well."

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief, Shimizu Tetsu said in a tone, "Okay, I don't know when Qi Jiansang will have time?"

"Jingshuisang just decided."

"Is the first day of Golden Week OK? At that time, the school shouldn't have classes?"

"OK."

"Okay, see you then."

"Well. Sorry, I have something to do, goodbye."

"goodbye."

Putting down his phone, Shimizuki waved his fist hard and slowly fell on the sofa, relaxing as if he had fulfilled his mind.

------

Back in the convenience store, Nanami suddenly found the store manager who was studying the recipe.

"Oh? What's wrong with Qi Ji?"

"Sorry, I have something to do on the first day of Golden Week, and I may not be able to come. I have already promised you..."

"It's okay," the store manager waved his hand, still with a kind expression, "I can handle it all day."

Before she finished speaking, a little gossip appeared on her face: "Is it a good thing to say?"

Feeling a little embarrassed inexplicably, Nanami avoided her gaze, but saw her expression through the reflection of the glass beside her.

I was stunned for a moment, and then I stretched my face as if I had denied something, and went to the shelves to continue tidying up.
