In the middle of the west coast of Saipan, there is a beach about one kilometer long, named Mike Beach, which is the most beautiful beach in Saipan.

Because it is located on the west coast of Saipan, the wind and waves here are much smaller than those on the east coast. The thin white beach is extremely soft and it will be very comfortable to step on it barefoot. What's especially amazing is that when you stand on Mike's beach and watch the ocean, you will find that the sea will appear in seven incredible colors.

The beautiful and peaceful Mike Beach is recognized as the best beach in the entire Saipan and even the entire Northern Mariana Islands.

After arriving at the hotel, the group arranged the room and covered the jet lag. They flew from Port Moresby to Manila one day and one night, and from Manila to Saipan. Seaplanes do not require a dedicated airport to take off and land. As long as the water conditions are good, they can take off and land anytime, anywhere.

From Saipan to the north, the straight line is 530 kilometers. In terms of the flight speed of the seaplane, it takes about two hours to reach.

Because of the close contact between the Philippine Sea plate and the Pacific plate, the ancient and cold Pacific plate subduction in the Mariana Trench to the younger and lower density of the Philippine Sea plate. As a result, the plate above produced a large amount of volcanic activity, forming not only the world's deepest Mariana Trench in between, but also creating a series of pearl-like islands on the west side of the trench.

For example, when the plane flew past Pagan Island, Yang Jing could even see a trace of heat coming out of the volcano in the north of Pagan Island.

Although this Pagan Island is less than fifty square kilometers, this island is a terrifying island. Because this island is composed of two active volcanoes, and within nearly a century, two active volcanoes on this island have erupted three times on a large scale.

As early as 1922, the volcano on this island had a large-scale eruption, and later it fell into silence. At that time, residents from the island returned to the island. Later, airports and other facilities were built on the island.

However, in 1981, the two volcanoes on Pagan Island had a larger eruption. This eruption not only forced all the residents on the island to evacuate, but also completely destroyed all the buildings on the island. Even the airport was swallowed by volcanic ash and magma.

Just like the Rabaul Airport that Yang Jing once saw in Rabaul, this airport built on Pagan Island can now only see a little outline.

In 2010, the volcanoes on Pagan Island erupted again, and from that point onwards until now, some gas will emerge from time to time. I don’t know if it was the volcanoes silence again or the larger eruption was brewing.

Flying north from Pagan Island for about 63 kilometers, you will arrive at Agrihan Island, the fifth largest in the Northern Mariana Islands.

Like Pakgan Island, this island is an island formed by layered volcanoes. The entire island is a volcano, which was lifted from the seabed for more than 4,000 meters and finally exposed to the sea to form today's Agrihan Island.

Looking down at this volcanic island from the air, you can easily identify that the island is actually a volcano with sea level exposed. The highest point of the volcano is even more than 300 meters higher than the height of a seaplane. However, at Yang Jing's instructions, after George lifted the plane, everyone could clearly see the huge crater with a diameter of two kilometers but a depth of more than 500 meters in the air.

In 1990, a volcanic eruption warning also erupted on Agrihan Island. All residents of the four villages on the island evacuated, but that warning did not come true. The huge volcano did not erupt. Later, I saw that the volcano was quite honest, unlike the two irritable big guys in the neighbor Pagan Island, so some residents slowly returned to the island to live.

From the dense vegetation on this island, we can also see that the volcano has indeed been silent for a long time, otherwise the vegetation on the island would not be so intact and dense. In contrast, the vegetation on the Pakgan Island in the south is like the hair of alopecia areata + bald people, sparse, one piece in the east and one piece in the west, which is not much better than dogs to eat.

When flying to this island, Yang Jing even vaguely saw several houses in the dense jungle near the southernmost coastline of the island. Obviously, these houses were built by the residents who moved back to live.

The plane quickly passed through Agrihan Island. After continuing to fly north for about a hundred kilometers, a volcanic island appeared in everyone's sight again.

Like Agrihan Island, this island is purely raised from a volcano from the seabed. The entire island is a huge crater. However, this island is much smaller than Agrihan Island.

According to the data, Asuncion Island is 3.3 kilometers long from north to south and 3 kilometers wide from east to west, which is almost a circle. The volcano on the island is 857 meters high, which is only about a hundred meters shorter than the volcano on Agrihan Island, and this volcano does not have a very deep and large crater.

When the plane climbs to a height above the volcano, you can clearly see the full picture of the island. The eastern half of the island is very steep, while the western half is relatively gentle, and the vegetation on the volcano is also lush.
