Chapter 482 Faberge Eggs

There were too many things in front and so precious. Yang Jing was numb when he looked at them. But when he opened the last small wooden box, the things inside immediately attracted his attention.

Compared with the boxes that hold sculptures and oil paintings in front, this box is much smaller in size, and is about the same size as the boxes that hold jewelry and gems. When Yang Jing opened it, the "eggs" inside, which are about ten to fifteen centimeters long, colorful and different images, suddenly made Yang Jing's interest.

"Damn, these are not all the legendary Russian easter eggs, right?" Although he had recognized the identities of these "eggs", Yang Jing still couldn't believe that there were as many as sixteen Russian easter eggs in front of him.

Russian easter eggs, also known as Easter eggs, are made by Peter Carl Faberge, a famous Russian jewelry master, and are unique in the world. Therefore, this easter egg has been once again called "Faberge Easter eggs" to commemorate this outstanding jewelry master.

All over the world, eggs are loved and worshipped by many nations, but drawing easter eggs is a unique traditional custom of the Slavic nation, while the Russians have preserved this artistic custom to this day.

Russians depict their love, dreams and longings on the easter eggs, which are the condensation of Russian soul and art. For Russians, easter eggs can bring health, beauty, strength and prosperity.

Since Easter eggs are related to traditional Russian religious customs, they are a must-have item for some religious festivals, especially important celebration equipment for believers during Easter. People treat Easter eggs like idols and protectors. Russians also welcome new little lives with Easter eggs.

Although Russia is located in the far north of Europe, Russia's jewelry has a long history and has a high status in the jewelry industry. In the early days of Easter in 1885, in order to comfort the Queen Mary, whom he married from Denmark, Russian Tsar Alexander III specially customized an exquisite easter egg from the royal jewelry design company Faberge Craft Production Company and gave it to the queen as an Easter gift.

So Faberge began to study how to make this easter egg, preparing to leave a deep impression on Queen Maria.

Under such circumstances, the world's first Easter egg was born.

This easter egg looks plain on the outside, but to everyone's surprise, there is a gold egg inside the shell on the outer layer of white enamel. Inside the egg is a small golden hen, and the golden hen also has a mini crown made of diamonds and a mini egg made of rubies in its belly.

The several layers of "mechanisms" hidden in this small Easter egg brought great surprises to the queen. Maria loved Faberge's gift. Alexander III immediately issued an edict to design a unique Easter egg every year for tribute, and the queen must be happy.

So, starting from that year, Faberge had to design and produce one to two Easter eggs for the Russian royal family every year. It took a total of 33 years from Alexander III to the resignation of the last Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.

During this period, Befare made a total of 61 easter eggs, and 52 are still alive. Among them, 54 Tsar Easter eggs made for the Russian royal family, and 47 are still alive.

At the beginning, the value of these Faberge Easter eggs was not recognized by the world. When the earliest Faberge Easter eggs were auctioned, the value of one was only less than 500 US dollars. But as time passed, Faberge Easter eggs were increasingly recognized, and their value was also rolling upwards.

By 2015, as long as any Faberge Easter egg is taken out and sold, the starting price will be tens of millions of dollars. Now, the most conservative estimate is that the value of a Faberge Easter egg is as high as 33 million US dollars!

And sixteen Faberge Easter eggs suddenly appeared in front of me, which is worth more than 500 million US dollars!

If you don’t have money, put it aside first. The key is that this kind of Faberge Easter egg is so rare. There are only 52 left in the world now, and you can’t see it on the market at all.

But Yang Jing suddenly felt something was wrong, it was a quantity.

Faberge made a total of 61 Faberge easter eggs, which is a recognized quantity worldwide. 54 of them were specially designed for the Russian royal family, and the other seven were specially customized by the Russian mining giant at that time, Alexander Kerch, to the Faberge art production factory. These seven easter eggs are also called "Kermen Easter eggs".

But the problem is that the only 52 remaining Faberge Easter eggs in the world are all famous flowers, so why do 16 easter eggs appear here? Even if the 16 easter eggs include the nine lost easter eggs, the total number is still seven more easter eggs!

Could it be that these easter eggs were not made by Faberge?

However, Yang Jing thought about it and felt that it was unlikely that the easter egg that could be picked out by Nicholas II and placed in a wooden box was not the easter egg made by Faberge himself?

Moreover, Yang Jing knew that another important reason why Faberge Easter eggs are precious is that the shape and style of each Faberge Easter egg are unique. Although the colors and shapes of the 16 easter eggs in front of him are different, the styles of 12 easter eggs are obviously in a complete set!

Don’t ask Yang Jing how he could see that the style of these 12 Easter eggs is the same, he can just see it! I guess he can see it if he changes someone else, especially Chinese people.

Because of these 12 easter eggs of different shapes and colors, each easter egg is carved with a very magical animal shape, starting from a mouse, to an old cow, tiger, rabbit, the legendary Chinese dragon... and all the way to the silly-looking piglet.

This is clearly a complete set of easter eggs designed and made with the theme of the twelve zodiac signs of China!

But according to historical records, Faberge has never designed and made this kind of easter egg with the twelve zodiac signs of China as a blueprint. So what are the things about these easter eggs?

This problem that has been covered in dust for a century, even if Yang Jing’s IQ is as high as 147, he can’t figure it out. Since he can’t figure it out, don’t waste brain cells thinking about it. In that turbulent era, anything could happen, so just use the holy ring!

After identification, all of these sixteen easter eggs were from Faberge. It is impossible to make mistakes in the identification of the holy ring. Yang Jing has always believed that this is true.

There are nine easter eggs in Faberge. All of these nine easter eggs are from the collection of Russian royal families. For example, the Tsar Sapphire Pendant Easter eggs made in 1886, the Little Angel Carriage Easter eggs made in 1888, the necessary easter eggs made in 1889, and the Alexander Third Century Easter eggs made in 1909 are all lost and cannot be seen in modern times.

However, these four Faberge Easter eggs lost by the Russian royal family have now appeared among these sixteen easter eggs.

As for the remaining twelve easter eggs, as Yang Jing guessed, they were also made by Faberge, and Faberge spent five years secretly making for Nicholas II.

These twelve easter eggs were made by Faberge from the beginning of 1900 to October 1904, and took a total of five years. From the perspective of time, Yang Jing believed that the twelve easter eggs should have been specially prepared by Faberge to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Nicholas II's ascension to the throne.

Nicholas II was an ambitious guy. Everyone knew that when he was in power, he had great interest in the Far East China, especially in the Northeast of China. As a tsar determined to unify the Far East, Nicholas II has been very interested in the culture of China since he ascended the throne. In his opinion, if he wanted to rule the Far East, as a Tsar, he had to understand the culture and living habits of the people in that area.

Perhaps it is precisely because of this reason that Faberge came up with such a way to please Nicholas II.

The twelve zodiac signs are very famous cultural customs in China, and the animals in the twelve zodiac signs are very cute. Use the twelve zodiac signs as a model to make a set of easter eggs as a gift for the tenth anniversary of Nicholas II's ascension to the throne, so the great Tsar will definitely like it very much. Especially when the Russo-Japanese War was in full swing, using such a set of easter eggs as a gift also indicates that Russia will win the difficult war.

This is probably what Faberge thought at that time.

Although Yang Jing didn't know why Faberge made such a set of easter eggs, it would be no exaggeration to guess this!

Anyway, there is no record of this set of easter eggs in the twelve zodiac signs in history. Perhaps it was because Nicholas II liked this set of easter eggs so much that he personally treasured them, or perhaps it was because of other reasons that this set of easter eggs was not known to outsiders.

Just as there was no news about the easter eggs made by Faberge in 1904 and 1905. According to Faberge's habit, he would offer two Easter eggs to the Russian royal family every year, but the four easter eggs in those two years were silent. Later generations even knew the name and appearance of the four easter eggs presented in those two years.

Similarly, this set of easter eggs dedicated to Nicholas II in 1904 has no historical record for some reason.

However, regardless of whether there is a record or not, this is no longer important to Yang Jing. What is important is that these sixteen Faberre Easter eggs now belong to him, especially among them, there is a set of particularly precious twelve zodiac easter eggs.

After silently wrapping the last box with consciousness, Yang Jing took it out, and then he let out a long sigh.

After stretching his waist, Yang Jing walked out of the cabin with satisfaction.
