Chapter 7 The Attack Before Dawn

After returning to Huayi, Hua called out the panel and generated 30 bronze spear soldiers and 10 bamboo bow archers.

Hua recalled the twenty farmers who were hunting in the basin, sent them the twenty bronze spears in stock, and then asked several bronze spear soldiers to teach them to use. Then he summoned all the remaining soldiers and asked them to start resting and inform them of major actions at night.

After midnight, Hua took all the soldiers, 10 bronze shield guards, 40 spear soldiers and 40 shooters, and quietly set off. Before leaving, Hua ordered the city gate to close, and twenty spear farmers to climb to the top of the city, and they were temporarily guarding the city.

Nanshanyi is actually only fifteen kilometers away from Huayi. There are no mountains or water in the middle, and it is all plains. The reason I searched for so long before was because I didn’t know the location.

In just over two hours, Hua arrived at the west side of Nanshan. He asked the soldiers to lurk in the grass and woods and act according to the prior arrangement.

Fortunately, it is not summer now, and there are no mosquitoes, otherwise you will have to suffer.

At the darkest moment before dawn, Hua and his soldiers touched the "village". More than a dozen bamboo arrows with bronze arrows flew towards the watchtower. The Chongguo sentry guard who was dozing off with a few arrows in the watchtower and groaned and fell on the floor of the watchtower.

A five-man night patrol team met Hua's team head-on. The two who were about to exclaim were chopped over to the ground by the bronze shield guards. The three behind began to neigh, but two of them were immediately pierced by the big spears swung towards them. The last one was fleeing toward the center of the "village", and several bamboo arrows flew over and shot through his body.

But the screams had awakened many people, and several other whistle guards on the tower began to blow the horns.

"Kill!" Hua said fiercely. He led ten shield guards and five archers to kill Chongwu's mansion. The other forty soldiers were divided into two groups, each with five archers, and rushed towards the two wings. They kicked open the door of the house and started slashing and slashing. According to Hua's order, he would kill him as long as he saw a man who was not shackled and imprisoned.

In a thatched adobe house, a man turned over and jumped up, shirtless, and just touched the bronze spear in the corner of the wall, and the back of his head was smashed by a bronze spear. The woman on the bamboo bed screamed loudly.

Several men with shirtless upper bodies, carrying big spears and axes, rushed to the road outside the house and were immediately shot through by several copper-clustered bamboo arrows. A lucky person who was not caught in the arrow turned around and was about to run away. He was chased by a man with a spear and beaten to break the sky spirit cover.

A man stood behind the door, hiding in the darkness, holding a bamboo bow, and was about to shoot. A Xia Guo Ge soldier waved the bronze sword and knocked down his bow and arrow, and then swept it again, and the sword blade pierced into his face, and a scream came.

In a moment, there was chaos in Nanshan City, and the sound of killing was shocking. Hua kicked open the gate of Chongwu Mansion and broke into the yard, but found that more than ten warriors were waiting in the yard.

They were tall, holding short spears and shields, wearing leather armor, with several copper bubbles embedded in the leather armor to protect the vital parts, and wearing bronze ghost masks. They were obviously Chongwu's elite guards.

The leader was standing in front of the queue, but he was carrying a bronze sword. The leather armor was particularly special than others. It looked like it was made of thick leather on the back of the rhino, and even jade was inlaid on it.

"Who came and why did you invade my Chongguo city?"

"You are Chongwu?"

"That's right, you're here to sign up."

"Kill" Hua ordered the shield guard behind him, and at the same time pulled the compound wooden bow in his hand away, aiming the arrow at Chongwu, and the five archers behind him also aimed the arrow at Chongwu.

"Kill" Chongwu almost gave orders at the same time. As soon as he finished speaking, six arrows shot at him. Shield Guard and Chongwu's personal guards also rushed towards each other.

Chongwu raised his shield to block two arrows and dodged two. But one arrow shot into his thigh, one shot under his collarbone, penetrated the thick rhinoceros leather armor from the edge of a copper bubble, and penetrated deeply into his body. This arrow was shot by Hua. The bamboo bow archer's bamboo bow cannot penetrate this thick rhinoceros leather.

Chongwu knelt on the ground in pain, supporting his body with the bronze sword in his hand. At this time, the elite Bore Armor on both sides had already fought together.

The short-spear warriors habitually used bronze spears to hook the opponent's shield. The shield guards ignored their move. When the bronze spears hooked the shield, the bronze sword in their right hand stabbed the short-spear warriors who were fighting against their right partner. The short-spear warriors' swords were already caught by the opponent's shield, and the right wing had already opened the empty door.

Less than ten seconds after the battle, six or seven short-spear warriors fell down, all of whom were pierced in their right ribs. The shield guards with group consciousness were difficult for them to fight against.

Hua took the bamboo bow archer and shot Chongwu again. This time all the arrows were shot on him, one shot the mask in a crooked manner, two shots on the leather armor, one was bounced away by copper bubbles, and one shot on his thighs, while Hua's arrows shot into his collarbone, and the throat was lowered. Chongwu fell to the ground.

After seeing Chongwu falling to the ground, the remaining short-spear warriors were no longer fighting spirit. They were determined to escape, but they were no longer leaving. Soon they were killed by the bronze shield guards. Hua rushed to Chongwu with one step, picked up his bronze sword, and cut off his head.

Hua carried Chongwu's head and walked out of the yard with the bronze shield guard and the archer. The killing outside continued. He held his head high and shouted, "Chongwu is dead, and those who surrender will not be killed." While wandering around the town, the shield guards surrounded him. Seeing whether there was a man kneeling down and prostrating, he was head-on with a sword.

Not long after, all resistance stopped and it was already dawn. Some people tried to sneak out of Nanshan City in the chaos, but were shot and killed by twenty-five archers lying outside the city.

Hua ordered everyone to gather in the square in front of Chongwu's mansion to take stock of the counting. These captured people were roughly three categories, 152 were released from the wooden cages of the shacks, obviously slaves, 29 were Chongwu's domestic slaves, 9 of them were female slaves. There were 136 people who were [common civilians], 96 were women, and 40 men were prisoners of war, without children. Several common people and nobles in the town were convinced that they were all killed.

Through Qiu, Hua knew that these women were actually slaves and were assigned to immigrants who came to Nanshanyi as their wives. They were willing to come out to open up the land with fields. In fact, they did not have complete personal freedom and were unable to migrate. They had to obey the dispatch and military service of Dianjue.

After searching and counting Nanshanyi, I found that there were about forty tons of grain, two hundred kilograms of coarse salt, and hundreds of kilograms of seeds of various grains. There were also two horses and a carriage, and there were no utensils.

Hua Yao soldiers escorted prisoners of war to dismantle a large number of logs from the houses and buildings in the city, and found many wooden boards.

Then lay the logs on the road in sequence and place them on the wooden boards, so that they can transport the food and food on the wooden boards, and then push and pull the goods on the logs. When they are almost at the end of the front, move the logs behind them to the front and place them in such a cycle.

After allocating all the manpower, under the surveillance of the soldiers of Xia Kingdom, everyone began to set off. In addition to grain and salt, Hua also asked the soldiers to collect all the weapons and put them on a carriage, and also packed a lot of utensils and brocades.

When the last wave of goods was escorted away, a raging fire broke out in Nanshanyi. Hua took out the yellow elephant totem Yu national flag, tore it apart and hung it on a bush on the side of the road.
